25 | Amanda Knox, an American woman who was appealing her conviction of the 2007 murder of her roommate in Italy, filed an injunction to block a television film based on her case from airing on Italian television, claiming the movie (which premiered in the U.S. on Lifetime on February 22) left her "exploited" and "very disturbed." Knox also sought to block the film from running on the internet. YouTube has obliged by removing clips of and references to the movie from its website.[67] On October 4, an Italian jury overturned her conviction and Knox was freed. As a result, Lifetime announced that it will alter the TV movie to reflect the outcome.[68] |

Another New York City based regional sports network YES Network (cable home of the New York Yankees and New Jersey Nets) informed DirecTV customers of a carriage dispute, which would have resulted in a loss of the channel beginning April 2.[72] After a week of good faith negotiations and a temporary agreement that allowed the channel to remain on DirecTV for another six days,[75] a new long-term carriage agreement was reached on April 7 with no interruption of service.[76] | |
Time Warner Cable removes 12 cable networks owned by Discovery Communications, Fox Cable Networks and Viacom from its iPad streaming video app after the companies complain their addition on the app was a violation of their distribution agreements with TWC.
