Botany

- Sugar cane first cultivated in Brazil.[1]
- Gherardo Cibo begins his herbarium, the oldest still surviving.[2]

[edit]- Jacob Ziegler publishes his principal geographical treatise, Quae intus continentur Syria, Palestina, Arabia, Aegyptus, Schondia, Holmiae... at Strasbourg.[3]
