Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/Datameer
Greetings! I respectfully submit this page should not be deleted. While I respect and agree with many of the conclusions of the editor (SwisterTwister), I firmly believe this company is notable pursuant to Wikipedia's guidelines on notability which I will address below. I do agree the article needs cleanup and has obviously set stale for some time, but probably is more deserving of Conflict of Interest and Citation needed tags. I am happy to volunteer to get it cleaned up and in proper compliance/order before the end of February 2017, and submit it via the talk page (or this page) for editorial review, and publication.
Here are a few of the reasons I believe the company to be notable:
- Datameer and its subject matter expertise is cited in no less than 6 extant patents at the USPTO [1]
- Datameer has its own patent "Apparatus and Method for Scheduling Distributed Workflow Tasks" pending approval before the USPTO [2]
I did a quick search in Google News and found these relevant articles (note I didn't mention all articles as some were clearly generated via press releases, etc.) to also contribute to notability:
- Microsoft cited Datameer as an Apache Hadoop partner application in their MSDN Channel 9 program on Jan 24 2017 [3]
- Datameer was featured in a conference coverage article by Australian ARN journal (owned by IDG Communcations, a la PC World, etc.) [4]
- In a Financial Times article reflecting on Germany's decline in the technology sector, Datameer and its CEO are cited and quoted [5]
- In an article about an online music startup, TechTarget cites PonoMusic turning to Datameer to enable the startup to scale up to Amazon-quality recommendations without having to build their own recommendation engine. [6]
- In an article outlining the next generation of data analytics, UK publisher Computer Weekly mentions Datameer as an up-and-comer and compares them to industry heavyweights Tableau Software and Qlik [7]
- In an article examining Twitter sentiment analysis of the last presidential election, Datameer's research is front and center for this TechRepublic writer [8]
- In a Forbes article examining the shift from IT-led enterprise data reporting to business-led self-service analytics, Datameer and its CEO are cited and quoted [9]
Hopefully this is sufficient enough to show this company warrants cleanup rather than deletion. As I stated before, I'm happy to help nurture this page into compliance and submit my updates via talk page to an editor for approval and publication.
