- Coordinator Erik has been revising WikiProject Films' style guidelines with several editors. In the past month, he and Steve revised the "Release" and "Critical reception" sections of the guidelines. Erik is currently proposing a revision to the guidelines regarding non-free images and has started discussion on the guidelines' talk page with a rough draft presented. All editors are welcome to weigh in about the existing changes to "Release" and "Critical reception" and the proposed changes for non-free images!
- As a result of a discussion and poll, our project has elected to not adopt the C-class that would have been located between the Start and B classes. WikiProject Films is one of several projects that has elected to not utilize the class, and if it is inputed into the film banner it will have no effect.
- Our project now has over 43,000 film-related articles that have been assessed by our assessment department! Remember to always add the {{Film|class=}} template to a film article's talk page so the project can get a better idea of what work still needs to be done. Below is a table showing a breakdown of our articles by class. You may notice a change in the table from prior months, as the importance parameter has now been removed from our articles. Instead, the only film articles that have an importance rating are the selected Core articles. If you're interested in viewing our project's progress in relation to other projects, see here.
- The Peer Review section of our Review department currently has a bit of a backlog. If you have time, please consider reviewing an article or two. Your comments and suggestions will help in improving the articles to higher levels of quality.
- We have now reached over 200 Good Articles. Congratulations to members who have contributed to this milestone! If you are interested in bringing an article up to GA status as we make our way to the 300-GA milestone, see the GA criteria for requirements. Interested members may also benefit by looking at the many GAs of our project for ideas in expanding and improving our film articles.
- Spotlight Update: Multiple films and film-related articles have reached GA and FL status in July 2008.

- 1. "Ten million was wired to your account in Montenegro, with the contingency for five more if I deem it a prudent investment. I suppose you've given some thought to the notion that if you lose, our government will have directly financed terrorism."
- 2. "Maybe Rosebud was something he couldn't get, or something he lost. Anyway, it wouldn't have explained anything...I don't think any word can explain a man's life. No, I guess Rosebud is just a...piece in a jigsaw puzzle...a missing piece."
- 3. "I think everything must go back to the fact that I had a very anxious childhood. My mother never had time for me. You know, when you're - when you're the middle child in a family of five million, you don't get any attention. I mean, how is that possible?"
- 4. "You see this? This...is my boomstick! The twelve-gauge double-barreled Remington. S-Mart's top of the line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about a hundred and nine, ninety five. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. You got that?"
- 5. "You have eleven minutes to thaw a bird. What will you do? Chase the villain or save the boy? Your emotions make you weak. That's why this day is mine!"
- 6. "Well, well. Here we are. You have exactly eight hours and fifty-four minutes to think about why you're here. You may not talk, you will not move from these seats. Any questions?" "Yeah. Does Barry Manilow know that you raid his wardrobe?"
- 7. "Alta, about a million years from now the human race will have crawled up to where the Krell stood in their great moment of triumph and tragedy. And your father's name will shine again like a beacon in the galaxy. It's true, it will remind us that we are, after all, not God."
- 8. "An old man dies. A young girl lives. A fair trade. I love you, Nancy."
- 9. "Gotta love crab. In the nick of time too. I couldn't take much more of those coconuts. Coconut milk is a natural laxative. That's something Gilligan never told us. "
- 10. "Look, I don't care what the telly says, all right? We have to get out of here. If we don't they'll tear us to pieces, and that is really going to exacerbate things for all of us. "
