Suspected sockpuppets


Two user accounts have recently been created with the sole purpose of removing articles, information or photos on wikipedia. The changes are unjustified and have been challenged by several other editors on those talk pages. ;Evidence submitted by J Bar (talk) 23:03, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Another editor has just brought this allegation to my attention. Here is a message I left on another complaint page.

Some people may disagree with my username, but some editor, disgruntled about having their images removed or reformatted in a few articles has gone about to discredit me by starting up an account with a similar name and then vandalizing articles by removing content and leaving similar edit summaries in some cases to what I would have done. I would like to see the other users account blocked. If you think my name is innapropriate let me know and I will do everything I can to have it changed.   •   Clerk note: This account has already been discussed in a number of other locations, and in each case a conclusion has been reached that the second account is NOT a sock, but an account created specifically to discredit PoorPhotoremovalist by somebody who has a WP:POINT to make. There is some considerable degree of forum shopping going on here, to the extent that it gives rise to a reasonable conclusion that J Bar (talk · contribs) could possibly be involved.   • Poorarticleremovalist is   Confirmed a sockpuppet of Loy Wong (talk · contribs), who has also been making a lot of other disruptive edits like [2] with his IPs.
  • PoorPhotoremovalist is also clearly a sockpuppet from its edits, but I don't yet see any evidence that it has been used abusively, so I won't comment on those concerns unless there is a reason to do so. Dominic·t 11:52, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
