Diff by the suspected sock master and Diff by the suspected sockpuppet. Also note the similarity in the user pages. same text, et al [1], [2]. Both seem to work on articles that have something to do with Russians, central Asians, etc. Editor interaction here. Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:24, 24 August 2020 (UTC)
- More diffs [3], [4]. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:45, 24 August 2020 (UTC)

edit- Clerk note: I have no idea why they're socking, but it sure looks socky to me. Master given two weeks off, sock indeffed. GeneralNotability (talk) 21:02, 25 August 2020 (UTC)

Similar disruptions in the target section of the article. Similar comments on "whites" and "Russians". [5], [6], [7], [8], [9] - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 11:57, 28 November 2020 (UTC)
- Although likely Horope, it is possible that it could be Sapah3 since their IPs are from Australia and they typically edit ethnic/race/mixed race related articles quite often [10]. Also note this edit, all of a sudden after Sapah's edits here. So requesting CU, also pinging @Oshwah and GeneralNotability: - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:54, 28 November 2020 (UTC)
- Fylindfotberserk, I'm not sure what you're requesting here vis-a-vis CU. If you're asking for a CU to tell us if 175.103.25.138 is Horope vs Sapah3, that's not something they're allowed to do. -- RoySmith (talk) 19:46, 5 December 2020 (UTC)

edit- Clerk note: I'm not seeing any evidence that 175.103.25.138 is the same person as Horope. The single common article is Ethnic groups in Asia, there's 9 months between when they each edited it, and the edits don't even look similar. If you think there's a connection to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Sapah3, you should open a case there, but you'll need to provide stronger evidence than you did here. Closing with no action taken. -- RoySmith (talk) 20:02, 5 December 2020 (UTC)

I believe user Noelcubit is a sock account of user Horope. The edit history of Westernization confirms the users made similar edits. Both accounts have been/are seemingly infatuated on the Westerniation article and the edit summaries of both use the same type of lingo/grammar/style, as seen here: [11] Similarly, once the user is confronted, they tend to become hostile and accuse other editors of wrongdoing, as seen here: [12]/[13]. edit- Blocked and tagged. I agree with the filer, although their evidence presentation in support of the socking allegations is subpar. The edit summaries are similar. The interests of the two accounts are the same. And the accounts were created within 4 minutes of each other. I hesitated on whether to request a CU for confirmation and for looking for other accounts, and if a clerk thinks a CU would be helpful, that's fine. For the moment, closing. - Probably all these accounts were created by Александр Мотин (talk · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · spi block · block log · CA · CheckUser(log) · investigate · cuwiki).--Germash19 (talk) 16:33, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Germash19 what makes you say that? -- RoySmith (talk) 02:55, 17 August 2021 (UTC)

edit- All accounts above are Confirmed to Horope. This is quite displeasing because Danloud in particular is an account with 6000 edits. Note extensive article overlap, especially on talk pages, where the accounts have edited in the same discussions, posing as multiple users (see e.g. Talk:Western world/Archive 7#RfC: Map, Talk:Russia/Archive 13#Human rights in lead, Talk:Ukraine/Archive 9#Danloud). All accounts Blocked and tagged, closing. Mz7 (talk) 22:59, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
- On hold - waiting to hear from @Germash19: -- RoySmith (talk) 02:56, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Ymblanter: could I ask you to take a look at this, specifically whether you think Александр Мотин is the same person as Horope? I see you started the site ban discussion for them. I can evaluate the technical aspects of this; I see for example that they have extensive overlap with Danloud and a few other clues like timecards, and occasional use of mobile and twinkle. And requesting rollback rights to fight vandalism. But as their editing is basically exclusive to topics related to Russia, you are in a better position to evaluate their overall style and POV. Anything you can add would be appreciated. -- RoySmith (talk) 15:44, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
- I am now on holidays with pretty bad internet connection. I have just look at the last several hundred edits by Danloud. Whereas I can not fully exclude that they are identical to Александр Мотин, the editing patterns look different to me. Александр Мотин was primarily pushing the point they would get some idea, for example, since the Caucasus is undoubtedly in Europe, the Crimean bridge is the longest bridge in Europe. These edits were always aligned with the Russian official propaganda. Superficially, at the level I was able to check Danloud's edits, I do not see propaganda pushing. Yes, sometimes they take more pro-Russian position in the Russian-Ukrainian disputes, but even then they never resort to edit-warring, a distinct feature of Александр Мотин's editing. Most of their edits seem neutral to me, just adding technical details, copyediting etc.--Ymblanter (talk) 19:39, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
- OK, thanks. I'm not seeing anything myself that convinces me they're the same person, just two people with a common interest. The edit comment here sure sounds like somebody referring to somebody else and the timecards look like two different people who live in the same time zone. I'm going to go ahead and reclose this. -- RoySmith (talk) 20:20, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
