DDima (talk · contribs) - I'm not sure where I originally ran into DDima. I must have been impressed though, since I've had him watchlisted for a while to see if he'd be good admin material. Sure enough, from what I've seen, he looks good. In fact the previous revision of this shows a declined nomination from 2006, so this was a while in the making. He's primarily an article editor, with a couple FA's, a couple GA's, and over 10,000 mainspace edits. He also has a featured portal, for any of you that have that as a guideline ;). his edits outside the mainspace are very balanced, showing his willingness to help everywhere. Simply from this, I'd say he's ready for the tools. Wizardman 01:27, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Questions for the candidate
editDear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. It is recommended that you answer these optional questions to provide guidance for participants:
- 1. What admin work do you intend to take part in?
- A: I intend to help clearing out the backlogs, performing requested moves, as well as other places which require assistance. I have been patrolling Special:Newpages and tagging vandal articles for deletion for some time, and am amazed by how many unworthy vandal-created articles appear daily. Whenever I patrol newpages, I tag the appropriate articles using twinkle, and intend to clear out C:CSD with it. Administrative privileges would make it much easier for me to deal with the vandals. Having said that, I will not abandon writing articles, and will still spend a large portion of time creating and expanding them.
- 2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
- A: My best contributions, I would say are the 2 Featured and Good articles I helped to write, and numerous others (mainly ones that were featured at WP:DYK.. Mayslake Peabody Estate is one example of these) My first ever attempt at an FA was St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery, promoted in 2006 with the help of various editors. I worked on House with Chimaeras throughout a course of a couple of months, first becoming a Good article, and later—Featured. Another article I am proud of is Mezhyhirskyi Monastery, which I planned to start out as a stub after seeing the topic in the news.. I kept adding more and more information, which grew into a full-sized article. Aside from writing articles, I have created a couple portals, one of which was Portal:Ukraine. The portal was greatly revived and overhauled to a FPO with the help of editors from WikiProject Ukraine, after being at a stand still for about a year. It's now regularly updated from the portal's contributors.. I have also created a number of templates, so I consider myself a template-savvy editor.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: Not really.. but there have been various conflicts with anonymous editors, some of them vandals. One conflict occured when an anon moved articles using the old cut&paste system.. I responded to him/her on the article's talk, asking them to stop moving articles this way, and to discuss the proposed move at the talk page. S/he did not respond, and continued to persist with their actions. I had to issue a couple warnings until an administratior came and blocked him. Aside from these, I don't really recall having any other conflicts...
Question from Sarcasticidealist
edit- 4. You come across the following articles marked as A7 speedies. How do you handle each?
- "Greta Greasepalm is a politician and city councillor in Sacramento, California." (citing the home page of the Sacramento city council)
- Well, being a councilor from the state's capital makes her pretty notable. I would conduct a web search to see if any more sources show up (not just from the city council's site), add them, and then tag the article with the appropriate templates (stub, wikify, etc.) —dima/talk/ 00:00, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- "Four Seasons of Emotion is the upcoming third album from Hawthorne Heights, expected to be released in Spring of 2008." (no source cited)
- Doesn't meet A7 because it's an album. I would then conduct an internet search for sources to back up the article. If any good results show up, then I would then add the found sources, add any tags to improve the article (stub, wikify), and add it to Category:Upcoming albums. —dima/talk/ 00:00, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- "Goober McCrawfish High School is a high school in Des Moines, Iowa. It is teh best school." (no source cited, but there is a link to the school's webpage in the "external links" section)
- Well, being a school doesn't necessarily provide a reason for deletion. It could either be merged into a larger article (like the city's public schools article) or nominated for the community's consensus on AFD. I would conduct an internet search to see if its notability is established, add the sources I found to the article, and make it compliant with WP:NPOV. —dima/talk/ 00:00, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- "Rock Hard Software is a software development company that has been criticized for incorporating subliminal pornographic messages into its products." (no source cited)
- I would do a web search to see if the information stated in the article is true, and add any sources I find to back it up. A company which does this sort of thing (add pornographic subliminal messages) could already have its notability asserted.. However, I would put the article on AFD, to see what is the community's consensus as to what should be done with the article. —dima/talk/ 00:00, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
