Disambiguate Retarget to State of Georgia (disambiguation) - Georgia (country) could also be considered a "(sovereign) state". Hence Georgia (U.S. state) is not Georgia (state). Estar8806 (talk) 23:56, 9 May 2023 (UTC)

- Oppose A Google test for "State of Georgia" returns only the state. A hatnote is sufficient to steer people who are searching for the country to the right place, but the US state seems to be the primary topic for this term. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 07:55, 10 May 2023 (UTC)
- Keep I find it unlikely users searching for "State of Georgia" are looking for the country. The other items listed on the DAB page seem even less likely targets. - Presidentman talk · contribs (Talkback) 14:42, 10 May 2023 (UTC)

- Keep - yes, this could refer to Georgia (country), but much more likely readers are trying to get to Georgia (U.S. State). The status quo, with a redirect to State of Georgia (disambiguation) strikes me as the most helpful. Caeciliusinhorto-public (talk) 13:34, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
- Keep the US state's long official name is this while the country's is "Republic of Georgia" and in any case it doesn't seem likely someone using this would be looking for the country. Crouch, Swale (talk) 16:45, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
- Keep. Most people are looking for the US state. HotdogPi 17:03, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
- Comment: This phrase is used in sources to refer to Georgia the country ("This name designating the united state of Georgia was not used in that sense until in the thirteenth century"; "The State of Georgia, which was by far the most consolidated as a nation, aimed from the beginning—after the disappearance of Russian supremacy—at building up anew and independently carrying on its national life"; "Russia accepted Germany's recognition of the state of Georgia"; etc). It's worth keeping in mind that to some extent this is an MOS:ENGVAR issue – in American English, the word state usually means U.S. state, but in most of the world it usually means State (polity). This makes the title ambiguous. —Mx. Granger (talk · contribs) 17:18, 12 May 2023 (UTC)
- Close. State of Georgia cannot redirect to State of Georgia (disambiguation) because it would be WP:MALPLACED. If the U.S. state is not the primary topic then what is needed is a move of the disambiguation page to the base name, discussed at Talk:State of Georgia (disambiguation). Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 08:33, 14 May 2023 (UTC)
- A consensus to retarget would result in the DAB page being moved to the base name. While I agree it would be better to have this discussion at RM rather than RFD given its here with lots of participation we might as well just discuss here. Crouch, Swale (talk) 16:13, 14 May 2023 (UTC)
- That would have been reasonable had Talk:State of Georgia (disambiguation) been notified, but it hasn't, so let's abort and do it properly... Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 20:36, 15 May 2023 (UTC)

- 2018–2020 Irish anti-immigration protests → 2022–2023 Irish anti-immigration protests#Background (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
An article at this title was deleted last month. The question of whether a redirect at this location would be useful wasn't raised in the AfD discussion, but the main argument for deleting the article—that there are no sources describing anti-immigration protests in 2018–20 as a discrete set of connected events—also applies to this redirect. The target section also doesn't make any such connection; as such, this is misleading in that it suggests there is a connection and that that connection is discussed in the target. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 15:23, 25 April 2023 (UTC)

- The content at the target doesn't convince me that the redirect is titled properly. It is not clear what happened in 2019 and 2020, or whether clubbing together events from three years is WP:OR. Per WP:REDLINK and because targeting the redirect to the previous year doesn't make sense, as it occurred entirely in 2022. Alternatively, redirect to Toronto International Film Festival and add the "with possibilities" redirect category. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:19, 9 May 2023 (UTC)

- Redirecting 2023 to 2022 is obviously silly, and I'd have kiboshed it myself on sight if I'd come across it before it got nominated here — but the reason I found out about this is that I was literally about to start the initial stub about the 2023 festival. So I'm just going to close this and convert this silly redirect into an actual article. Bearcat (talk) 14:31, 14 May 2023 (UTC)

A "massacre" with three wounded people. Redirect created by same editor who used "genocide" as a redirect for some mass shootings, nominated as well. Fram (talk) 09:26, 2 May 2023 (UTC)

- Weak delete per nom, although I'm noticing that List of events called massacres lists a fair number of massacres with death tolls in the single digits so these might not be terribly implausible search terms. Duckmather (talk) 14:12, 4 May 2023 (UTC)

3 months ago the article was moved from its title for 15.5 years, as it was too generic. For that same reason, now that pageviews should have died down, I propose a retarget to System safety#Weapon system safety. Waffly, but it should do. - A stabbing has been added since I nominated. I am OK with leaving it as is, or with retargeting as you suggest. CapitalSasha ~ talk 03:23, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
- This is ambiguous with CeCe McDonald, given a bit of a stretch. Tough one, especially given that McDonald's article receives quite a few more views than Svidersky's. J947 † edits 04:19, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
- A bit of stretch indeed for the possessive form with the apostrophe and 's'. That variation makes more sense as a reference to the restaurant. I continue to suggest that Murder of Anna Svidersky is the only plausible target. — BarrelProof (talk) 23:20, 4 May 2023 (UTC)

- Retarget to Murder of Anna Svidersky. Only stabbing listed at the current target; I don't believe that CeCe McDonald is a particularly likely meaning though if others consider this ambiguous I wouldn't object to deletion as second choice. Caeciliusinhorto-public (talk) 11:37, 10 May 2023 (UTC)
- Retarget to Murder of Anna Svidersky per above. Yeah, I'm fairly confident this is the right target too; I'd just wanted to put the other option out there. J947 † edits 04:47, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
- Retarget to Murder of Anna Svidersky I agree that someone using this search term is far more likely to be looking up stabbing stabbings regarding the restaurant then a stabbing involving a person with the surname McDonald.--65.93.193.94 (talk) 23:15, 14 May 2023 (UTC)
