The images related to the select illustrations and graphic designs chart provide continuity by showing the development of the visual artist - Reading left to right, from early in his career using caricatures, to working as an art director and hiring illustrators to finalize his concepts/designs as with Gone With The Wind to working as a freelance artist creating concepts, designs and illustrations of films like Lord of the Rings. These images are all referenced in the article.

All of these images significantly increase the readers understanding of the subject - Tom Jung. These images were created by a visual artist/Tom Jung/the subject of the article - These are not images that need to be tied to the subject through commentary - The connection should be/is obvious to readers - Additional commentary would be redundant and just add unnecessary volume to what I believe is a fairly concise article. Comment orphaned yes, but unencyclopedic? As they are dressed in parody of Boba Fett and a Tuscan raider, there are numerous uses for it discussing Star Wars culture, cosplay, or the Long Beach Comic Con where the photo was taken. My concern is the licensing, the source is here with the artist as Matt Saunders, however the title is Pimp Boba and me, me being the Tuscan raver [sic]. Russian Wikipedia uses a more complete version of this image,[1]. It is sourced to a book published in 2000, and claimed as non-free. I can't read Russian though--perhaps the image in the book is actually older than 2000. Here's the book at Google Books: [2]. Thanks for finding that! On the ru-wp article ru:Берке, the caption says something that may mean either "work of a contemporary artist" or "work of a modern artist" ("современного" seems to have both meanings), which is somewhat confusing. If it's the former, it would imply PD-old, if the latter, not so (and ru-wp ought to be ashamed for using it). Also, we don't really know if that information, whatever it means, is actually sourced to the book. A bit of a mess really. At least, if the publication is a serious academic work, it would point in the direction it's historically authentic in some way. I can't see the contents of the book on Googlebooks though. Can you? I took this picture and uploaded it it. It was usefull at the time because there wasn't an equivalent picture around. I have no idea what "unfree derivative work" is supposed to mean. I simply grabbed a few books from my bookshelf, laid them out on the floor and took a picture with my cheap old supermarket digital camera. If a better picture is now available then, of course, obviously this one is not necessary and can be deleted.

Unreliable source. The file is being used in a very controversial article. I've expressed doubts in its authenticity and proposed to replace it with one from a reliable source, and the ones i've been able to find in reliable sources don't have a watch on the second soldier's right hand. (Original or not) Per Spiegel, the smoke was added from this photo: [6]. The photo I proposed for deletion has the smoke, hence it is not the original. It can be some version between the smoke being added and the watch being removed, but it's definitely not the original. I haven't find any source saying that the photo was first published with two watches and then retouched again.     - My point was that reliable sources contain only a verbal description of the original version of the photo. The two-watch version that I proposed for deletion wasn't published anywhere, neither in Spiegel, nor in Guardian, nor in Time. There are other 2-watch photos from the same photoshoot available from reliable sources, like this one from Associated Press. My point was that we should illustrate the story about the second watch with photos published in reliable sources. Like, use the one from the Library of Congress as the main photo in the article, and the one from Associated Press in the section Raising a flag over the Reichstag#Image censored.
