The result of the discussion was: delete - if the source image was deleted by Commons, we respect that decision. Please note that this should not be construed as a prohibition on any similar picture opposing Stalin. There is no policy reason that such an image would not be permitted. If this were an image of a living person ... ok, that's something to consider. But the only reason that this one was deleted was that the underlying image was deleted on Commons for inadequate sourcing. --B (talk) 18:28, 16 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Hello, Jeff G., I'm still waiting to hear exactly about whom and what I am "promoting negativity." If you want to be an admin when you grow up, you're going to have to learn to engage with editors in discourse not just when exchanging atta boy pleasantries. Your response on how you came to have interest in this image on your talk page was wholly inadequate in not contacting me at all prior to nominating this image in a user box on my page for deletion.
- I'm not being difficult, nor is my issue geopolitical. My issue is (my perception) lazy thinking on your part coupled with poor communication skills. Getting to be an admin requires more than racking up statistics of thankless tasks you can point to having achieved. VЄСRUМВА ♪ 13:42, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- I'm sorry I haven't gotten back to your question. The negativity appears to be:
- "No" or "no" in the filename
- The circle with the line through it, which generally means "no"
- The sole use of the image being in divisive userboxes which appear to be critical of a certain modus operandi - please see Wikipedia:Divisiveness, and specifically Wikipedia:Divisiveness#User_space, for more information about better ways to make one's point.

- Thanks for your response. In some cases, as in:
- "no Nazism"/"no fascism"
- "no slavery"
- "no drugs"
- "no Stalinism"
- the word "no" is part of the positive message. The context must be the message, not the use of the word "no." For example, is "no slavery" divisive because of the word "no"? I think not. I am concerned that you label my user box as "divisive." "Divisive" would be having a userbox stating "LATVIANS ÜBER ALLES"—which you will note does not include the word "no." There is a difference between the letter of the law ("please see XYZ"), shallow interpretations of the law (my perspective, your references to the appearance of the word "no"), and the spirit and intent of the law. - Nor, after considering Jeff G.'s response, do I yet understand exactly what "negativity" I am "promoting." References to the use of the word "no" and appearances of similarity to unspecific certain M.O.s is hardly adequate to advocate deletion, and without prior comment or contact.
