I think the back cover artwork is justified; I am trying to show the whole album - which is quite rare - and it has lovely Smurf artwork of Papa Smurf you can't find anywhere else but this LP/CD. It does add value because many times people want to see the front AND back covers. I understand the copyright issues; however, this almbum being as rare as it is, there is little to no chance most people would ever be able to see the album artwork at all. Also, I have updated the article with new information. It appears that the back cover was used as the FRONT cover on Australian casette issues, so it is now esential that the back cover image be shown so people can see what the front cover looked like on said cassette tape. Cmt I was almost gonna say the same thing myself yesterday...the only thing holding me back is that the image itself is of pretty poor quality and you can barely see the dance, which might compromise its encyclopedic value. But that's not an outright violation of policy, and I don't think we have a policy to delete images just because they're bad, so I think I'm neutral on this one. rʨanaɢ ^talk/_contribs 12:36, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy delete Certainly copyvio; the uploader even acknowledged (in the image caption when adding this image to an article) that it's a photo from Playboy, and the image page attempts to claim "fair use" (although the license tag placed there is Creative Commons, which I assume the uploader just pulled out of a hat). Keep (with reduced resolution). As the copyright notice on the image description page recognizes, permission is not required for fair use. (Inasmuch as the servers are in Florida U. S. A., English Wikipedia is governed by US copyright law.) Both uses are clearly in accord with US fair use law and also with Wikipedia’s more restrictive non-free content policy. Delete from Profumo Affair. There is no indication that the image itself is famous in that context and is just being used there for illustrative purposes ("the ... image, .... adding yet more fuel to the fire under Profumo") which not the same as saying it was an image that became a part of the scandal. In fact, neither Morley nor the Daily Mirror are really mentioned again other than the caption. It just isn't necessary for that article and doesn't significantly add to it. Keep at Christine Keeler: its use however is completed unsourced (the museum link mostly discusses the chair being used and the setup of the image, not its notability other than "it's an iconic image"). I'd like to see more about why that image is itself notable (perhaps even as a separate article if it really is) but I'm willing to keep it there for now. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 10:38, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

      - The Coleco version of the game is similar to all versions of the game, and the Fair Use template gives proper justification for it representing all DK versions. The Coleco version is one of several versions of DK, and so can be used as the illustration of the Coleco and every version. Very weak keep There really should be a single image showing the various incarnation of the character. However, I would say that File:Dkong end.png and especially File:Donkey Kong tabletop instructions.jpg are copyrighted images that should go first (and I will list if nobody else will). I was against nominating multiple images from this article at once because I feared I'd have to deal with "This is a featured article" argument that has no validity but lots of people screaming.   - Ah, there's two separate issues here and I need to explain myself better. The colecovision thing isn't even on the radar, I totally agree, what I'm trying to say is that an image showing gameplay is vital for this article and currently this is the only one. I would be very happy for this particular image to go and be replaced by an arcade-version shot, but don't support the article having no gameplay image. I've switched to delete accordingly. ~~Weak keep:~~ I say weak because I believe a screenshot of the original version should be used. But the fact that we don't have one means that this image is more important than its description page states. A screenshot of the gameplay and graphics is important in helping the reader understand the topic. However, should an image of the original be uploaded, then this one should certainly be deleted.

Delete Though a strong case for a gameplay image can be made easily, this isn't the right picture. This game is the first true platformer, a hugely important game genre from the start of the 80s through to the mid/late nineties, it is also the first appearance of the most famous/recognizable video game character as well as Donkey Kong himself who is also very notable. The platform game page actually has a pretty suitable image already, perhaps we can use that instead with an additional rationale? Someone another 00:47, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
