- The result of the discussion was: do not rename. The new proposal should be made in a new nomination for clarity. MER-C 14:21, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
- Propose renaming Category:Cypriot people by century to Category:Cypriot people by period
- Nominator's rationale: To bring in Category:Ancient Cypriots Rathfelder (talk) 20:05, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose, this is part of a complete set of categories by nationality. Marcocapelle (talk) 19:00, 25 April 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose This is a sucategory to Category:People by century, and the proposal would break the category tree. Dimadick (talk) 09:22, 26 April 2019 (UTC)
- Is there a way of bringing these two categories together - I mean globally, not just for Cyprus? Its not very helpful to have Fooish people by century seperate from Ancient or mediaeval people of Foo. Rathfelder (talk) 15:36, 26 April 2019 (UTC)
- The way it works for Category:Greek people by century is to have Category:Ancient Greeks by century as a sub-cat. However, not all Ancient People categories will be sufficient populated to justify splitting them by century. I suggest just adding e.g. {{category see also|Ancient Cypriots}} on the "by century" pages. – Fayenatic London 15:37, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
- Support Fayenatic. Hugo999 (talk) 11:07, 12 May 2019 (UTC)
- Happy to withdraw my proposal. Fayenatic's proposal seems to work.Rathfelder (talk) 20:08, 17 May 2019 (UTC)

- Nominator's rationale: Being an honorary citizen of Munich is generally/always a WP:NONDEFINING characteristic (e.g. of Richard Strauss). Note: There is already a list. See WP:OC#AWARD and previous discussions (e.g. this in 2010). If not deleted, this should be renamed (add "s") to match sibling categories (e.g. Category:Honorary citizens of Hamburg). If deleted, the sibling categories should also be CFDed. DexDor (talk) 18:42, 23 April 2019 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was: merge. MER-C 10:34, 14 May 2019 (UTC)
- Propose merging Category:Sultanate of Ifat to Category:Medieval Somalia
- Nominator's rationale: merge per WP:SMALLCAT, and the subcategory page contains links to the two articles in the header so the articles are kept together anyway. Marcocapelle (talk) 09:30, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
- Support but do we need to upmerge to more parents? Peterkingiron (talk) 15:25, 28 April 2019 (UTC)
- Possibly Category:Medieval Ethiopia as well but it is not that urgent. Ifat was based in (current) Somalia but stretched into (current) Ethiopia. Marcocapelle (talk) 18:43, 28 April 2019 (UTC)

Category:Laicized LGBT Roman Catholic priests
edit- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.

- Nominator's rationale: This category has the same BLP/non-notable intersection by orientation issues as the LGBT laicized bishops category below. Of the two people in it now, both are LGBT, but one was laicized in order to enter politics, the other for his "rebellious attitude and beliefs". Even if there were notable priests laicized specifically for their orientation, I think it's a bad idea to try to divide up Category:laicized Roman Catholic priests by the reason for their removal. gnu57 00:04, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
- Delete per nom, following this other discussion. Marcocapelle (talk) 03:25, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
- Delete - per above, largely also per WP:TRIVIALCAT. Inter&anthro (talk) 07:20, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
- Delete per above and the related discussion about bishops. They could have been nominated together, but to defend the nominator the categories were not even parented... Of course, until proven otherwise, there is no connection between being gay (mostly the case here) and being laicized. Place Clichy (talk) 15:16, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
- Delete A rather obvious case of pointed agenda-driven politicing. Laurel Lodged (talk) 09:13, 24 April 2019 (UTC)
- Either merge back to Category:laicized Roman Catholic priests or repurpose (and purge) to Category:Laicized paedophile Roman Catholic priests (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs), which may be a major cause of them being defrocked and is actually a slander on those who really are LGBT.
