- The result of the discussion was: rename. Good Ol’factory (talk) 01:09, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
- Propose renaming Category:Sinch albums to Category:Sinch (band) albums
- Nominator's rationale: For consistency with other categories that were renamed not too long ago (e.g. Category:Priestess (band) albums). LazyBastardGuy 22:42, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
- Speedy rename to match main article Sinch (band) -- 70.51.200.101 (talk) 08:48, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
- rename to match parent article.--Lenticel (talk) 03:40, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

Category:Environment in Brittany
edit- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was: merge as amended. Good Ol’factory (talk) 01:08, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: Merge. This does not seem to be a useful category as it only contains one article, The Singing Stones of Brittany, which is more an attraction than an environmental article. If editors think it should still be categories in environment, then upmerge to Category:Environment of France as well. – Fayenatic London 20:54, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
- Merge but to Category:Archaeological sites in Brittany. Twiceuponatime (talk) 08:48, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
- Agreed, thanks – that's a better target. I have added the page into the category that I suggested before. – Fayenatic London 17:32, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

Laws in Christianity

- The result of the discussion was: rename to "Christianity and law in the xxth century". Good Ol’factory (talk) 23:48, 12 March 2015 (UTC)
- Propose renaming Category:16th-century laws in Christianity to Category:16th-century Christianity and law
- Propose renaming Category:17th-century laws in Christianity to Category:17th-century Christianity and law
- Propose renaming Category:18th-century laws in Christianity to Category:18th-century Christianity and law
- Propose renaming Category:19th-century laws in Christianity to Category:19th-century Christianity and law
- Propose renaming Category:20th-century laws in Christianity to Category:20th-century Christianity and law
- Propose renaming Category:21st-century laws in Christianity to Category:21st-century Christianity and law
- Nominator's rationale: Rename. The preposition "in" in the category name is not in line with the actual content of the categories: they're not about Christian laws but are instead about state law regarding Christianity. If a proposition must be kept in the category name, it should be changed into "about" or "regarding". The proposed category names are the most neutral form, without a preposition. Optionally, "law" may be changed into "state law". Marcocapelle (talk) 19:51, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
- Comment—The proposed category names don't feel quite right, as to me they suggest that they're about temporal sub-types of Christianity in conjunction with law. I wonder if Christianity and law in the xxth century would express the concept a little better. Beeswaxcandle (talk) 08:54, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
- You're quite right. Support alternative per Beeswaxcandle. Marcocapelle (talk) 19:40, 1 March 2015 (UTC)

Category:Natural history of the Caribbean by islands
edit- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was: merge. Good Ol’factory (talk) 01:07, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: Merge. There is no need for a separate category. Sort keys beginning with a space would be sufficient to separate the categories by topic from the categories by island. – Fayenatic London 19:08, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
- Makes sense to me. Merge. Guettarda (talk) 19:19, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
- Merge per nom. Editor2020, Talk 02:40, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
- Keep "by island" is a useful subcategorization; it makes navigation by category tree easier. We should also have Category:Natural history of the Caribbean by topic and We should also have Category:Natural history of the Caribbean by country -- 70.51.200.101 (talk) 04:20, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
- The other Caribbean categories do not have or need this. However, there are three that gather together topics for the "minor" countries in Category:Caribbean territories or dependencies (as opposed to the independent states within Category:Countries in the Caribbean): Category:Caribbean economies by territory or dependency, Category:Geography of the Caribbean by territory or dependency and Category:Politics of the Caribbean by territory or dependency. I would be happy to change the nomination to split to Category:Natural history of the Caribbean and to Category:Natural history of the Caribbean by territory or dependency. – Fayenatic London 17:44, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
- A subcategory of Category:Natural history of the Caribbean as Category:Natural history of the Caribbean by territory or dependency is also acceptable to me; however, it makes more sense to divide natural history by island primarily, since that is how the natural environment is geographically isolated, by channels of water. -- 70.51.200.101 (talk) 04:44, 4 March 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks. Apart from inconsistency, the trouble with the current name is that many or all the sub-cats are actually not for single islands but groups of islands. – Fayenatic London 17:00, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was: delete. Good Ol’factory (talk) 01:03, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: The category currently includes two articles. Avalokiteśvara is a bodhisattva and Brahmā (Buddhism) is a deva; both Buddhist deities and classified as under that category. Category:Names of God has ways of addressing God like Bhagavan, Khuda, Holy Spirit etc; which is not what the category currently has Redtigerxyz Talk 17:42, 28 February 2015 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was: rename. MER-C 08:17, 11 March 2015 (UTC)
- Propose renaming Category:Religion-related legal issues to Category:Religion and law
- Nominator's rationale: Rename, C2C to parent Category:Religion and government and sister category Category:Religion and politics. No longer C2C to parent Category:Legal issues but imho the terms "related" and "issues" should not be part of a category name anyway, being too vague. Category:United Arab Emirates Wikipedia administration
edit- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.

- Nominator's rationale: This category contains 4 subcats - for portals, stubs, templates and wikiprojects. It thus places many pages that are not administration pages below Category:Wikipedia administration. It also causes circular categorization as Category:WikiProject United Arab Emirates is both a parent and a grandchild of this category. The subcats are all in more suitable parent categories. There is Category:United Arab Emirates articles by quality (which categorizes talk pages) and is the normal (and much more comprehensive) way to group pages of interest to a particular group of editors. Note: This category is one of 8 "<country> Wikipedia administration" categories, but there is no such category for the other 200 countries (e.g. there is no "France Wikipedia administration" category). Related previous discussion: Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2015_January_8#Category:Mauritius_Wikipedia_administration. DexDor (talk) 07:12, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
- Support needlessly circular arrangement. A WikiProject is the centre of administration for a topic. SFB 22:01, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
