Fails WP:GNG, there seems to be no WP:SIGCOV. There is coverage of a copyright lawsuit and a single Destructoid article. I have found no other significant, independent sources. WP:RS/VG says Destructoid is only sometimes considered reliable. Alternative Proposed Merge. The creator Zhu Zhiqiang has an article that covers the lawsuit content, and that content relating to Xiao Xiao could perhaps be merged to Zhu Zhiqiang as an alternative to deletion. - Withdrawn by nominator Sources have been located that, while not accessible, would fulfill WP:GNG. --Brocade River Poems (She/They) 14:23, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
- Keep I think the nomination makes a good case for not having two articles, but I suggest the proper action is to change Zhu Zhiqiang to a redirect, and to keep this article. Zhu is only famous for this cartoon and anything extra can be added here. Yes, the significant coverage is about the lawsuit, but the lawsuit is about these cartoons so unless we want to have another article about the lawsuit it all belongs here.I've just added a cite to Guo, Yimei. Modern China’s Copyright Law and Practice. Springer, 2017 which dedicates several pages to the lawsuit including pictures from the cartoon. There's a big uncited section in the article, listing out each of the cartoons with a summary. It should be deleted unless citations are found (I'm aware of none). - Just wanted to say that I am also amicable with redirecting Zhu Zhiqiang to Xiao Xiao, though I'm unsure if that's a possible outcome of an AfD for Xiao Xiao. Then again, given that all of the most reliable sources and coverage seems to deal with the lawsuit, it might even be worth considering merging to Intellectual_property_in_China#Cases. - No, what I'm proposing would have to start with keeping this article, and then Zhu Zhiqiang would need to be dealt with separately. I think the proper way to handle would be to close this as keep (you could withdraw at this point), I'd commit to moving the Zhu Zhiqiang stuff over to this article and either do redirect (assuming I can figure out how to do a redirect - it's been a while) or propose a redirect.I'd be against merging this into IP in China. This is a well known cartoon, it just doesn't get a lot written about it (Google Scholar has more but it's paywalled). Oblivy (talk) 13:35, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
- If you say that there are more sources, I'll go ahead and withdraw. WP:NEXIST does not require that the sources are accessible, only that they exist. Brocade River Poems (She/They) 14:22, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
