The result was redirect to Wangan Midnight. Am closing as redirect. There may be an argument for merging the content, and if an editor wants to do that, the content will be in the history. GedUK  11:18, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article appears to fail the WP:GNG and WP:PRODUCT guidelines. A reasonable search on Google, GNews and GBooks finds nothing that would indicate suitable independent reliable sources to demonstrate significant impact justifying a stand-alone article.   • Keep: I'm pretty sure that there's an entry at gamefaqs.com (keyword: Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune). While the user-written walkthroughs are not of our interest, it nonetheless demonstrates there is such an arcade game exists. Following this I'd say keep this article, provided that we cut out the trivia sections afterwards. As for the cars and tracks listing, I think mentioning them without going into too much details would suffice.   • Delete: I retract my first decision on keeping the article. Secondary sources for the article are slim, in fact none. In my opinion, due to the fact that trivial information does not follow standards, it would be best to keep the article's information straightforward in Wangan Midnight.   • Delete. There is a section at gamefaqs, however at that site anyone can write content. Beyond that, the question is not whether or not the game exists or the article has content, it is whether the game has signficant coverage in reliable sources. In this case, and in my opinion, the official website and a single user-generated listing at gamefaqs simply isn't enough. It's possible more sources exist, but I have been unable to find them in my quick search... -Addionne (talk) 10:51, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Comment. I think that maybe this article can be rewritten into a style like Initial D Arcade Stage 4, plus the points that I've said earlier. It's still not too good, but it's better than what it is currently. As for the "proper" sources, I've yet to see IGN or similar sites to review this sort of arcade games, so it may be a bit of pain. (BTW I never thought that the stuff that I left to rot was dug up again, as practically there are no cabinets with the original WMT nowadays; plus I quitted playing it long ago) --Blackhawk charlie2003 (talk) 13:11, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Comment. I've only seen user reviews on the game, but nothing major from possible reliable sources. Most of the information I've seen on the article are based on observations during gameplay, and where they were sourced, does not meet standards. Though the official website is a step forward, it is still not enough to make the article notable. I have a PDF manual of the game's cabinet system, but likely it does not state any gameplay whatsoever. Anime4international (talk) 00:53, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

            • You appear to be suggesting that I failed to follow WP:BEFORE by not explicitly suggesting a merge as one of the possible options in my advance discussions on the article talk page and on the user page of the primary contributor where we did discuss the reasons for PROD and its removal, and went on to go through the reasons why we would go to AFD for wider discussion. Should you feel there is a case here, please use any recognized dispute resolution process to complain about my behaviour (rather than taking this AFD off-topic) and consider applying the deletion review process if this AFD does result in a deletion. I am comfortable that my efforts to meet the BEFORE guidelines are well documented, would stand up to scrutiny and were consistently friendly and open to keeping the article if improvement to meet the notability guidelines seemed possible.
