Comment: I am page creator and thus will not be offering a vote, but I will offer some comments. It is sad to see that JFI, a very experienced editor, has not shed his condescending and offputting attitude towards other editors. I did create this page when I was much less experienced, but I disagree that the page fails GNG as it received coverage not just in local but also regional and international newspapers. Also, there was a debate about the page's notability months ago on the talk page where another editor indicated that NOTNEWS was "one of the most vague and controversial grounds for deletion" on here. Keep because, Whoa, this spree shooting had IMPACT. Bill toughening penalties for harm and threats to family lawyers heads to Wisconsin governor. A bill called Sara’s Law ,named for lawyer Sara Quirt Sann, one of the victims n this spree shooting, "makes it a felony to harm or threaten a lawyer, corporation counsel or guardian ad litem for work on a family law case, the Wausau Daily Herald reported here and here. Lawyers’ family members would also have the same protection. Judges, district attorneys, law enforcement officers and court officers are already covered." Gov. Walker signs ‘Sara’s Law’ as tool to better protect family lawyers. Adding a searchbar on "Sara's Law". Article passes WP:NCRIME.E.M.Gregory (talk) 04:51, 30 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Keep - the incident resulted in a new law approved by the Senate and signed by the governor; the law is named after one of the victims of the shooting. Furthermore, the law could result in cascading legislation in other states or at the Federal level: "National expert: ‘Sara’s Law’ could set national case study for protecting family lawyers"^[1]. Keep. I was on the fence watching this AfD. The shooting itself had coverage, but did not sway me either way to !vote (quite a bit of local coverage, some national coverage around the event).
