While the book and associated gaming of the bestseller list is Notable, the author is not. Notability is not inherited. EnPassant♟♙ (talk) 22:02, 14 December 2021 (UTC)

- Redirect to Handbook for Mortals per nom. The work, and the associated kerfuffle, is notable but the author is not independently so. ~Cheers, TenTonParasol 23:54, 14 December 2021 (UTC)
- Redirect A redirect as suggested seems the best option. Oaktree b (talk) 00:14, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
- Redirect. The Handbook for Mortals article covers this once incident plenty. Pikavoom (talk) 07:16, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
- Merge/redirect to Handbook for Mortals. A search on NewsBank for sources prior to 2017 found only one article of substance, a human interest story profiling Sarem as part of the publicity team for 100 Monkeys (Sarem finds entertainment makes people's lives better. The Daily Citizen, January 31, 2011) Other pre-2017 sources were trivial mentions or quotes related to music industry, often based on press releases. While the Daily Citizen article has some biographical information worth including in an encyclopedia, it does not demonstrate significant coverage from multiple independent sources, and it is most appropriate to discuss the author and controversy in the article dedicated to the controversial book. --Animalparty! - Merge/redirect to Handbook for Mortals. In hindsight, I agree with everyone here. The Handbook for Mortals scandal is really the only thing notable about Lani Sarem by Wikipedia's standards, and it's already been covered on its own page. I had trouble also finding any sources (aside from IMDb and her own book) that back up her claim that she's been an actress in multiple movies. If anything, she just seems to be an uncredited cast extra. Not to dump on her as a person or anything, but without sources, it would be difficult to create a full biographical page for her. I couldn't even find her birth date or anything about her early life before the book scandal. ~ PetSematary182 — Preceding unsigned comment added by PetSematary182 (talk • contribs) 16:59, 16 December 2021 (UTC)
