Kent Simpson

This page somehow survived AfD once and I'm not entirely sure how. This player fails WP:N and WP:ATHLETE. He's a 16 year old junior league player in Canada. He has not played at the highest level of hockey in Canada (which would be the NHL), he is a junior league rookie. He has not played in the highest amateur level of his sport - that would be the Canadian national team/international competition. Most of the articles we run across that we have to delete are junior league players who were drafted in the third or fourth round and have not played in the NHL. From what I gather in this article, this kid is a rookie in juniors. All of the rationale from the last AfD is faulty. Smashville^talk 16:50, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Delete Article fails WP:N, WP:ATHLETE, and WP:HOCKEY/PPF#NOTE. The last AfD seemed to have misinformed comments that formed the backbone of the keep movement and had a strong sense of crystal ball to it. – Nurmsook! ^talk... 16:54, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Delete Article fails WP:ATHLETE and WP:HOCKEY/PPF#NOTE. Article can be recreated if he ever plays professionally or otherwise achieves notability. Very strong precedence that players at this level at not prima-facia notable. Some examples of deleted articles since July include: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Delete it has been very well established that simply playing Major Junior hockey is not enough to pass either Wikipedia's guidelines or WP:HOCKEY's own. Recreate if this individual wins a major award, is a first round draft pick or plays pro. Reso lute 17:17, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- The article has NOT been recreated. I simply moved Kent Simpson (ice hockey, b. 1975) to Kent Simpson, seing as how after the non-notable Simpson was deleted, we were left with only one Kent Simpson article on Wikipedia.
