These articles are about people of doubtful significance. Which is even more important, they are based on the SBU news releases only. None of the not numerous facts provided has been confirmed by independent sources. No one can even be sure these people are GRU officers VanHelsing.16 (talk) 08:38, 21 April 2014 (UTC)

- Support - not notable, not even confirmed. Strelkov has a search warrant out for his arrest, does that qualify for notable? --Львівське (говорити) 07:29, 22 April 2014 (UTC)
- Strelkov has a search warrant out for his arrest, does that qualify for notable? - I believe Bezler does too.Volunteer Marek (talk) 06:55, 27 April 2014 (UTC)
- Delete He is "supect" of "participating" in the Crimea crisis. Even if he did (which seems less than verifable), mere participation does not make one notable.John Pack Lambert (talk) 19:52, 22 April 2014 (UTC)
- Comment - the Wall Street Journal published this article about Mr. Strelkov but the reporting is almost entirely from SBU releases and it is clear the authors were unable to independently verify the story. Jogurney (talk) 21:54, 23 April 2014 (UTC)
- Don't support the Deletion - Igor Brezler is a remarcable figure in the russian Georgia War, and now, we must wait to see if he is really implicated on the tortures, kidnapings, assasinations, etc., occurred on the recent events in Ukraine. And please don't turn wikipedia into another battlefront of the events on the ukranian-russian conflict. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alexxxos (talk • contribs) 16:55, 24 April 2014 (UTC)
- Delete The article is an epitome of maladroit (or even concocted) exposition. On the one side it is based in its entirety on a non-neutral, partial source (meets WP:HOAX), but even if we surmise the veracity of affiliated sources, then (as one analyser concluded) the members of Russian diversion groups on Ukrainian soil must certes outnumber the entire GRU staff. In the second case it clearly lacks sufficient notability. Bogorm (talk) 17:11, 26 April 2014 (UTC)
- @Alexxxos I have read the article. If there were sincere interest in its præservation, at least overt grammatical errors (such as in the following excerpts: He is suspected in participating of...; he participated in number of violent events) glaring even to non-native speakers of English like me would have been rectified during the week which elapsed since its generation. Just in the first excerpt I caught sight of two mistakes whose persistence seems indicatory of the disinclination to put the article aright, nay to præserve it. Bogorm (talk) 17:11, 26 April 2014 (UTC)
- Delete Per WP:N considering also that none of this is confirmed information it is also a WP:BLP violation. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 02:22, 27 April 2014 (UTC)
Delete per WP:HOAX – the Horlivka incident has been confirmed as a hoax. The fact that the story comes from "reliable" pro-Kyiv sources does not make it true. Even the US State Department produces hoaxes and has the New York Times publish them on the front page. One must be extremely careful about any claims about Ukraine, especially in articles under WP:BLP.Do not salt, allow recreation based on reliable sources.-- Petri Krohn (talk) 03:03, 27 April 2014 (UTC)- Changed !vote to keep or merge. This source from Russian RT seems to verify that Igor Bezler is "one of the self-defense force leaders whose group is controlling the local police department in Gorlovka" – or at least the SBU believe so. -- Petri Krohn (talk) 06:43, 27 April 2014 (UTC)
- Keep I think his material should be merged into the appropriate articles (Siege_of_Sloviansk#Notable_figures ?) until we can establish proper notability. Users are calling for a 'hoax' when this has all been verified thoroughly, so not sure why they are pushing this "hoax" angle. Bezler himself says hes former Russian military, and they since confirmed his service record, so not sure what the "hoax" is EDIT: Changed to keep from original merge proposal, like VM says he qualifies for Notability now--Львівське (говорити) 03:47, 27 April 2014 (UTC)
- Keep. Strelkov def appears to satisfy criteria for notability: [1].Volunteer Marek (talk) 16:57, 27 April 2014 (UTC)
- Keep Practically the faces of the uprising (Bezler in the early days, thanks to that video, and now Strelkov with the prisoners). We can present the Russian position, but these two are playing a key role in these events.--Martin Berka (talk) 17:04, 28 April 2014 (UTC)
- I expanded both. Bezler could go either way, but "Strelkov" is now on the EU sanction list.--Martin Berka (talk) 18:12, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
- Keep. Notability is asserted, per Lvivske and Marek above. § DDima 20:23, 28 April 2014 (UTC)
- Keep Strelkov. Has recently been explicitly named in EU sanctions;[2] other-language Wikipedias have significant articles on him. It Is Me Here t / c 10:25, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
- Keep Strelkov, but rename per NPOV. We should not repeat unsubstantiated allegations in the title.--The Devil's Advocate tlk. cntrb. 13:50, 30 April 2014 (UTC)

- The Strelkov article has now doubled. He is officially in charge of all fighters in the region. The EU is official, and vouches for his notability, but it is not neutral to say (GRU) when he and pro-Russian media deny everything.--Martin BerkaT|C 11:47, 1 May 2014 (UTC)

- Keep He is the commander of a militia that has control of a substantial area of Ukraine. For me, that makes him notable. Tomh903 (talk) 16:07, 2 May 2014 (UTC)
- Keep Figure whose identification and role in the events have attracted enough media interest. I can just bring here couple of Russian-language publications: scandal w gravestones, role in local politics in 2012, interview w autograph to NG. Ignatus (talk) 16:46, 3 May 2014 (UTC)
- Keep Strelkov, but rename to something like Igor Strelkov (soldier) or Igor Strelkov (militant). We could also use his real name as the title if and when that is considered reliable. He is clearly notable, and there are non-Ukranian sources. For example, this Wall Street Journal article relies largely on an interview with a Russian source, Komsomolskaya Pravda. The sanctions also contribute to notability. Superm401 - Talk 08:08, 4 May 2014 (UTC)
