The result was keep. although it might be worth merging in the article on the product, especially as that article appears to be largely a barely-paraphrased copy of the company website pages on that subject. Black Kite (t) (c) 20:54, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Delete Is this company notable? The only sources cited are the company's own web pages, apart from one which shows that the software has been tested and nothing else. Searching produces mostly the company's own material again, with very little evidence of independent coverage. - This AfD nomination was incomplete (missing step 3). It is listed now. DumbBOT (talk) 11:13, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- Keep, or Merge to ESET NOD32 (its flagship product)
; company probably not independently notable.Revised thanks to below evidence. --Cybercobra (talk) 20:58, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply] - Keep or merge, although I think the better way would be to merge the article about the product into the article about the company. Google News search brings forth multiple, in depth, and topical coverage in reliable sources: PC Magazine; Washington Post; ABC News are the top three. These go beyond the usual twaddling about press releases and "magic quadrants", although that sort of thing is also found. With some regret, I think this meets current consensus standards for techcruft notability. - Smerdis of Tlön - killing the human spirit since 2003! 14:49, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Those reports are about the company's products, not the company itself. --Cybercobra (talk) 15:43, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- Reply. I'm pretty sure this there is substantial coverage about this company in Slovakia. There are a couple of similar antivirus/security companies in Romania, and they are a major IT employer (you have to remember that these EE countries are the size of a US state or even smaller), so they get quite a bit of coverage in the national press (and not just the IT one). I'm willing to wager the same is true in this case. Pcap ping 18:58, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Further comment. The current article is a pretty useless duplication of the info about their product. The sk wiki has only a stub on this, but it linked to google translated (beware that it translates Eset as "Isis" fairly often), which has a fair bit of info about the company itself. As I suspect, in 2007 it was the fastest growing IT company in Slovakia, and the 7th fastest in Central Europe. Here is more coverage in Slovakian (?) press, thankfully in English: [1] [2] (The Slovak Spectator). There are a few hundred articles in sk press in venues like Pravda (Slovakia), Hospodárske noviny, and a newspaper called DNES (not sure if they had anything to do with the Czech Mladá fronta DNES). So, the company is notable. Writing a meaningful article about it is rather tricky due to the language barrier and lack of interested editors... Perhaps redirect it, and someone will notice and write a proper article about the company (evil grin). Pcap ping 19:07, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep According to SME, the company was awarded as the most successful Slovak company in 2008, 2009.[3][4] Their software is used by approximatelly 1,200,000 (as of 2009) people only in the Czech Republic.[5] The profit of this IT company in 2008 was approximately 49,000,000 USD (938,400,000 CZK).[6] The tone of the article is promotional, however, both the company and the flag product are notable. All of cited links are reliable. Thanks to people doing delsorting. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 19:52, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Well, you're probably in the best position to improve this article. Pcap ping 22:29, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment It would be a bit strange to delete this and keep an article on one of their products. Either they should both be kept or deleted, or we should merge them. Alzarian16 (talk) 20:35, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
