Last AfD was no consensus. Analysis by Timothy in last AfD Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/David McIlroy indicates sources are not sufficient. Fails WP:BIO. LibStar (talk) 00:10, 5 September 2023 (UTC)

- Redirect to List of ambassadors of the United Kingdom to Guinea, I concur with the analysis in the last AfD that the seemingly solid Belfast Telegraph ref is in fact an interview, and thus a primary source. All other sources I could find were either also primary sources or were passing mentions, with the possible exception of this in Africa Intelligence, which is behind a paywall and would not be enough to pass GNG by itself in any case. - Redirect to List of ambassadors of the United Kingdom to Guinea. I am in full agreement with the nom's rationale and the past source analysis of the last AfD. Additionally, I also found this but it's, again, a short message from McIlroy leaving office. The find by Devonian Wombat regarding the Africa Intelligence piece is interesting, but McIlroy doesn't seem to be at the heart of the article, so I doubt it can count towards the GNG. I also found this but it's pretty much just McIlroy's parting words. Pilaz (talk) 14:21, 5 September 2023 (UTC)
