  • Delete: For such a seemingly prominent individual, literally no sources seem to exist in both English and, even more strangely, in Arabic. This is further clouded by the fact that there is a modern author with the exact name, as well as a contemporaneous Syrian general with a very similar name (Amin al-Hafez), during a period when both countries were united. But then the question becomes who is the guy in the images? None of this seems particularly made up, so the original editor must've gotten this information from somewhere; however, nothing seems to exists on the guy as far as I can tell, so WP:GNG isn't even a question at this point. • Delete. This article has been on Wikipedia for about 10 years yet has zero sources. The subject supposedly died in 2010, so shouldn't there be obituaries for him online somewhere, particularly from Egyptian newspapers, that would confirm any of this information? And if there aren't any sources to be found, he can't be considered to pass the general notability guideline. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 16:59, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete fails WP:BASIC. If he held the position claimed there should be plenty of reliable sources about him. Mztourist (talk) 03:29, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment. It would appear that Mohamed Sedky Mahmoud actually held the post claimed for Hafez at that time. If he was an Egyptian Air Force officer, he wasn't its commander. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:14, 16 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Rather than just commenting why don't you say delete? Mztourist (talk) 13:39, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Because I'm waiting to see if anyone adds any sources to confirm anything about him that may make him notable! If they don't, then I would agree with delete, but unlike others I believe in giving articles that may be notable a chance. -- Necrothesp (talk) 09:16, 18 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Why don't you search for sources and then take a definitive view just like everyone else does? Mztourist (talk) 02:58, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Curbon7 you're obviously not familiar with the long history here. Mztourist (talk) 05:33, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I have no idea why you have to take issue with everything I say, even when I'm merely making a comment about a point of fact (which I am, of course, perfectly entitled to do). It's exceptionally irritating. Just accept that different people have different views, will you, and stop your attempts to bludgeon everyone else into accepting your view of what Wikipedia should be. My comment did not need a reply. I was merely providing information to assist the debate. I have no obligation to provide a !vote, as you well know. -- Necrothesp (talk) 15:56, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I have no idea why you can't bring yourself to say this unreferenced page should be deleted, particularly as you have pointed out that the post claimed for him was occupied by someone else making it a likely WP:HOAX. Mztourist (talk) 06:39, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
