Schools in Barrie, Ontario

edit

Hi,

I was just looking over the page for Innisdale Secondary School, and I saw the schools that you listed at the bottom under the heading "Schools in Barrie, Ontario." You did a great job; however, you left out the Catholic and the French schools in Barrie (for example, St. Joan of Arc, Ecole la Source). Just a little reminder :) Lovelaughterlife 00:29, 7 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

oh and by the way, you can refer to the Simcoe County District School Board article for more schools located in Barrie
Note that I had to revert your changes, such as those here: [1]. You must not have the navigation box inserted into the article. Instead, you should transclude it. The difference is:
  • don't do this: {{subst:SCDSBSchools}}
  • don't do this: [[Template:SCDSBSchools]]
  • don't do this: {{Template:SCDSBSchools}}
  • instead, do this: {{SCDSBSchools}}
See how I've fixed up Innisdale Secondary School for example. You may want to review other schools you've edited to ensure you didn't make this mistake elsewhere. --Stéphane Charette 03:51, 18 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Lone Hand Wilson (film)

edit

A tag has been placed on Lone Hand Wilson (film), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. 172.148.40.22 18:10, 29 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Barrie-Flag.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Barrie-Flag.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 06:05, 11 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image source problem with Image:Flag of Cobourg, Ontario.jpg

edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Flag of Cobourg, Ontario.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:23, 8 October 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. New character articles

edit

Please do not create new character articles without satisfying WP:FICT and WP:WAF. If you cannot include reception and development information, the article cannot exist. This is non-negotiable, so please do not suggest a discussion over it. It's purely black and white. TTN 13:48, 21 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Actually, it is the other way around. Before you go off splitting an article, make sure that you have the means and the consensus to do so, as this article was merged in the first place. The article has no real world information (the games have coverage on IGN, not the character), and you have not asserted any real possibility for it to happen any time soon. If you want it to have an article, place {{splitsection|Ike (Fire Emblem)}}, and start the discussion. TTN 16:02, 21 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Justifying my redirects

edit

Hi. I noticed that you unredirected two pages that I redirected (Barrie North Collegiate Institute and Barrie Central Collegiate Institute). While I don't care, I just wanted to explain why I did it. In this AfD discussion an administrator said "Redirect to [[the School District]] - in future just do it. TerriersFan 22:13, 9 November 2007 (UTC)". So in this case, they were unremarkable schools with no particular notability and I "just did it". Part of the whole be bold thing. No response is required. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 14:55, 6 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Notability of Gary Gerbrandt

edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Gary Gerbrandt, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Gary Gerbrandt seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Gary Gerbrandt, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Thanks for uploading Image:Barrie, Ontario Coat of Arms.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Notability of Willow Landing Elementary School

edit

A tag has been placed on Willow Landing Elementary School requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. GreenJoe 15:59, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Micaiah (Radiant Dawn).jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Micaiah (Radiant Dawn).jpg.

You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 07:01, 12 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs

edit

Hello Wikada! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 6 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Robert Simpson (brewer) - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Robert J. Hamilton - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

edit

Your upload of File:Age Distribution in Cobourg 2006.png or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! edit

Thanks for uploading File:Barrie logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Proposed deletion of File:WikadaCanada.png

edit

The file File:WikadaCanada.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Orphaned image, no context to determine possible future encyclopedic use.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --TheImaCow (talk) 19:30, 18 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
