Boswil is not a candidate for speedy deletion. You will have to list it on Wikipedia:Votes for Deletion. — David Remahl 20:55, 5 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Done. More articles to follow. --Voyager ch 21:20, 5 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Great. Boswil looked like a machine translation. Certainly not good enough for inclusion. (Of course the best thing would be if you could do a human translation ;-)) — David Remahl 22:02, 5 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Of course I could, I've written the original. But at the moment, I simply don't have enough time, I have enough to do at the German wiki. --Voyager ch 22:11, 5 Oct 2004 (UTC)
I hate to add to your pain, but have you noticed that every article Pumpie created which has an umlaut (or other such accented symbol) in the name has a broken interwiki link, thanks to the German Wiki using unicode for article titles, and the English one not doing so? Argh. I'm fixing some but he's done so many.. so many.. <sigh> —Stormie 04:58, Oct 6, 2004 (UTC)
- I will not translate any more articles into English with Babelfish, Voyager ch, I will translate new articles without Babelfish or grammatic errors. -Pumpie, 20:50, 10/11/2004 (UTC)
- So that means you won't translate anything at all in future. I doubt that your knowledge of the German language is sufficient for translating my shopping list. Do us a favour and stop bothering us. --Voyager ch 20:21, 11 Oct 2004 (UTC)
I've updated the article at East London Line and its photo ([1], 2). Given your hard work in translating the article for the German Wikipedia, I thought you might want to know (as my German is absolutely in no way good enough to attempt the update myself ;o) — OwenBlacker 12:03, Oct 19, 2004 (UTC)
- Thank you Owen
I will take a look at it this evening. --Voyager ch 14:49, 19 Oct 2004 (UTC)

images
editLet's make sure the replacement images exist before tagging images for deletion, I can't find any of the ones you say are replacing them. Ëvilphoenix Burn! 19:32, 14 October 2005 (UTC)
- They do exist. Haven't you looked on Commons? --Voyager 19:35, 14 October 2005 (UTC)
- I'm confused, why does Image:Broward County Florida.png show up as red, is it because it is on Commons?
- Ok, I get it now. I'll finish deleting them then. Sorry bout that. Ëvilphoenix Burn! 19:40, 14 October 2005 (UTC)
- No problem. --Voyager 19:41, 14 October 2005 (UTC)
re: Name change
editSpeedy deletion
editI noticed that you tagged the page Image:Wynyard-train-station-(sydn.jpg for speedy deletion with the reason "replaced by image on commons with different filename, not used here anymore". However, "replaced by image on commons with different filename, not used here anymore" is not currently one of our criteria for speedy deletion, so I have removed the speedy deletion tag. You can use WP:IFD if you still want the article to be deleted. Thanks! Stifle 00:15, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- Bureaucracy, arghhh... --Voyager 12:02, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- Instead of just changing the tag you should consider deleting images at Category:Images on Wikimedia Commons. There are only 7425 of these left. This was the reason I used the {{db}} tag, because nothing ever seems to get done and the category just keeps getting bigger. Someone really should take care of this. Sorry if I'm bothering you. --Voyager 12:44, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- The best solution is to list them on WP:IFD with reason OR/OB (orphaned and obsolete). Please read Wikipedia talk:Moving images to the Commons for more on why they can't be speedied. Stifle 15:01, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- As the photgrapher and uploader for this image, should I write something to someone saying I don't object ? --Marc pasquin 02:21, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
- I don't think that is necessary. Only if you disagree. --Voyager 08:01, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

Hi. You nominated:

...for deletion at WP:IFD, but didn't indicate where these images were on Commons, and I couldn't find them with a simple search. Can you point them out to me, so that I may replace the references to them here and then delete them? Thank you. Jkelly 19:23, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex
editHello Voyager. I noticed you changed the word 'collimation' to 'collimator' in the article Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex. From my limited knowledge 'collimation' is the correct expression. See the paragraph about the collimation tower on the Honeysuckle Creek Tracking Station site. I've been to the Honeysuckle tower site a couple of times. The tower was still there in the early nineties but has since been dismantled. - Gimboid13 21:17, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
skiers
editGood work on the skiers pictures. Do you also have some of the women skiers? Thanks SportsAddicted | discuss 14:07, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
- Unfortunately not. You will have to ask User:Tschaensky, he was the photographer. All I did was inserting the pictures in all language versions. --Voyager 14:25, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
Vancouver
editPlease place all {{FAR}} templates on the talk page as directed by the instructions on Wikipedia:Featured article review rather than the article itself. Mkdwtalk 10:32, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
- It is also considered good form to leave a message with the FAR template {{subst:FARMessage|NAME OF ARTICLE}} on the project pages associated with the article, as well as the pages of nominators for FA and significant contributers. I have taken these actions on your behalf. FAr is a stressful experience for all who have contributed to the article being considered. Please don't make it more stressful by not informing those affected of your action. Jeffpw 11:09, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry about that. I don't contribute here very often and therefore don't know all the "rules and regulations". It seems that each language version has developed different approaches to these matters. --Voyager 11:17, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
- Well the FAR instructions do state that quite clearly. It's just good wiki etiquette. Though I should mention I check each nomination as it comes in and do it myself as a matter of routine. Cheers, Jeffpw 11:44, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
Are you willing to reconsider your nomination since your complaints are about the article History of Vancouver and not Vancouver. Langara College 23:25, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
- No, I am not because you misunderstood me. See the FAR discussion why I can't reconsider my decision yet (I might do later though if my concerns are properly dealt with). --Voyager 00:22, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
- Read it again. You're not nominating the right article or the right section. History of Vancouver is the article that your complaints are about, not Vancouver. Would you complain in the article Canada that Vancouver doesn't talk about Expo, no because Canada isnt an article about that. Langara College 01:57, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
- How comes that everyone seems to misunderstand me? Read below what I think about this. --Voyager 16:55, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Peer review
editI don't see anything preventing a peer review of Vancouver. As for the expansion, I still don't know what's missing, and without something more specific, it does sound like you believe it should be bumped up to 78 kb 'just because.' I don't understand your criticism, so can't address it. Adding a ramble like I do on talk pages would hardly be an improvement. When exactly does this history end and current events begin anyway? Bobanny 16:15, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
- Well, let me try to explain as simple as possible. We have a detailed history until the 1930s. Almost the whole rest of the article is a very well-done description of the city as it is today. In between there is a huge time gap spanning 70 years or so, except for very few events which are briefly mentioned and "hidden" in other sections. What I sorely miss is: How did the city actually develop and get this far? How was the city affected by the "outside world" (World War II, Canadian federal politics etc). My personal definition of current events is: Anything that's older than two or three years is history. Take a look at the Canberra article (the history section ends in 2003), then you might see what I'm aiming at. All that needs to be done is adding a few sentences (preferably by a Vancouverite). Is that such a big problem? --Voyager 16:49, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
- You're describing your preference of how the article should be structured. Looking at Canberra's article, most of that extra history is politics, and the same logic could be used to complain that Canberra's politics are hidden in the history section, and in my perspective, its politics section currently is static. It reads like all the developing happened in the past, and now that every conflict has been resolved, this snapshot is the result, and presumably the end of history. That's not to say it's not well-written or presents the wrong information, but it's not my preference. "History" as a thing itself doesn't exist; read a history book and you're reading about politics, culture, economics, an event, or whatever, you're not reading about "history." Historians just don't work that way; even if their narrative moves along chronologically, it's rare to find a history book published in the last 30 years that gives equal weight to different decades or is organized like a calender. You may only be asking for a few sentences, but only inasmuch as those sentences change the structure that's already there. You're speaking like this is an obvious shortcoming of the article, that it deviates from some tried and true convention, but from what I can tell, it's not a convention embraced by historians. This is how I understand your comments, and think that content is a separate issue, which certainly could be revisited. Bobanny 18:41, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Photos to commons
editJust thought I'd stop by and say thanks for adding photos I took to wiki-commons. I've been meaning to do that myself for a while, and know it's kind of tedious work. Bobanny 20:15, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1993
editClick on this links shown below:

This shows the 15km Jagdrennen. When I first looked at the FIS results initally, I thought the results were Dæhlie and Smirnov were tied, but the information that the user I had mentioned earlier was accurate and thus the results were changed for the 10 km 15 km combined pursuit. There was a similar issue with Välbe and Belmondo in the 5 km 10 km combined pursuit at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1997, but that was also resolved as well. I hope this helps. Chris 21:47, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
- He has a book of the official records of the 1997 event Trondheim ((in Norwegian)) that lists all of the championships from Johnannisbad in 1925 to the 1995 championships in Thunder Bay. If you look at some of the earlier records of the championships, you will see the book reference for this. He does not have it yet for 1993, but it should be on there. Chris 21:01, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
- FYI. I got additional link about Dæhlie edging Smirnov at the event. If you click on the reference link shown at the bottom of the page, it will link you to the article to look at. I want to inform you that it will be in Norwegian, but the information is there. Chris 12:07, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned fair use image (Image:CA Brive.png)
editThanks for uploading Image:CA Brive.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:51, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
All Blacks and other translated articles
editHey, congratulations on the German All Blacks article. I see you have translated quite a few English rugby articles into German. It's great to see someone doing this especially as rugby is played very widely in Germany. Anyway, just thought I'd say good work and keep it up. - Shudda talk 00:51, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer
editHello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 01:16, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
Bergen Light Rail
editI notice you added {{out of date}} to Bergen Light Rail. This box provides a very glaring box which warns about actual errors in the article because it is out of date. I am confident that there are no glaring omissions in the article right now, and no such warning is necessary. If there is some information in the article which is out of date, I would enjoy if you left a note on the talk place so myself or another editor could address the specifics.
