Before nominating {{SK Expressways}} for deletion, I just want someone to verify that this template contains all the highways it should. It's completely redundant to {{Saskatchewan Provincial Highways}}, which actually bolds all of them, so it's not useful for navigation on those highways' articles. –Pomte16:31, 9 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello there Ultraflame.
The Canadian Content Award
I was having a look see around and about...This is for outstanding contributions to Canadian related pages on Wikipedia. Wow! Have you ever written a lot of articles!!! You have really contributed an amazing amount of work! SriMesh
Thank you very much. I have been busy lately, so I have not had much time to work on the project, but at least the Project has had major progress since last year. Thank you, again. Ultraflame22:41, 17 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Guess what!?! A new WikiProject about Saskatchewan has been started as an attempt to better organize information in articles related to the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. If you would like to participate, you can edit Saskatchewan articles, add Saskatchewan content, or visit the project page, where you can join / edit the project and/or contribute to the discussion.WikiProject Saskatchewan
You kept the Sk Roads project going !! There are so many other category articles online about SK but some of the others which are not a part of the SK road project seem to be a little lost, as not all have article talk page assessments or categories.---So we'll see what a WP SK can do to find them. ;-)

There are some newly uploaded images, would they be of any use on any Sk Hwys Pages? I am not sure what kind of image would be of import on these types of pages.... See this category SK traffic sign images... I wish more that are still on the camera would have been in better focus, these are the better focused ones...which might be of use. Could you please help to create the first newsletter for WP SASK ? ... a pilot perhaps could start similar to....WP SASK Newsletter Do you have any other ideas ... it seems like other WP projects have tried to use newsletters, would it be helpful for WP SASK to also have one?.... SriMesh | talk23:20, 14 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
I will try to help whenever I can. However, final exams and other interests have forced me to lower my activity on the WikiProjects I am a member of. It seems like all I need to start working on this newsletter are some suggestions for what to include. Thank you. Ultraflame01:11, 15 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks to many contributors like you, we're proud to state that our province is coming together to provide direction related to Saskatchewan article content and format. Saskatchewan Wikipedians have also helped to identify missing or unfinished Saskatchewan articles. There is already one featured Saskatchewan related article and two featured Saskatchewan related lists followed by several "B-Class" rated articles. (Featured Articles).
Two New Articles On Saskatchewan Communities:by Fishhead2100
Two news articles have been created. One on Osler, Saskatchewan and the other on Cadillac, Saskatchewan. Those two articles need some attention with formating, information, and much more.
Articles needing adoption require people to take on the task of reasearching, editing, revising, and more. Anyone can adopt an article. If you are unclear on which articles need adopting, don't hesitate to ask.
WikiProject Saskatchewan is pleased to announce that the Outreach Department has been established. It is designed to be a centralized location where we will work on recruitment and member interaction efforts. Thanks to WP:NV for the idea and codes.
Thanks
Thanks to WP:INO for some newsletter ideas and codes.
Looking forward toward more contributions from you! Happy Editing!!
Advertisements for recruitments within your WikiProject sub-groups are also welcome. If you see a new Saskatchewan created article by a Wikipedian who has not signed up at Wikipedia:WikiProject Saskatchewan, please extend a welcome to them. We'll run special sections, and recurring columns in the coming issues.
The Saskatchewan Roads Wiki Project has been merged within the scope of WikiProject Canada Roads recently. It is a group of wikipedians who work on providing information about Saskatchewan roads and highways. Their contributions gain more significance as we try to provide more information about our thoroughfares. You can help too. Contact the members on the Saskatchewan Roads wiki project pages to learn how you can help in making the best highway pages in Wikipedia!
Saskatchewan collaboration is another branch for the WikiProject Saskatchewan. First and foremost, to improve Wikipedia through the addition of new articles on notable Saskatchewan subjects and the improvement of existing articles.
An invition is extended to members / subscribers to design a new WP Sask newsletter name with its own banner or font style. This would give a similar appearance to the WP Sask newsletter as the Wikipedia community newsletter name the Signpost which used the old english font for its unique naming. A proposal could be offered up for our own Wiki Project name for the new WP Sask newsletter similar to....Star Phoenix, Leader Post, Herald, Booster, or Times Herald (which are already in use for SK newspapers)....Something is needed for the WP Sask Newsletter.
Please add new articles and as the newsletter acquires new information an update will be sent out to all subscribers signed up on WikiProject Saskatchewan Subcribers

The WikiProject Saskatchewan Newsletter aims to give a summary, both of the activities of the WikiProject and Saskatchewan Wikipedia / Wikimedia activity as known/reported.
Please comment about the formation of a new concept - a Saskatchewan Portal
Take a peek at the Canadian Portal. There are four provinces, BC, ON, PQ, and Nunavut. There are also four Canadian cities with portals of their own as well.
Portals are pages intended to serve as "Main Pages" for specific topics or areas. Portals may be associated with one or more WikiProjects; unlike WikiProjects, however, they are meant for both readers and editors of Wikipedia, and should promote content and encourage contribution.[1]
A unique concept by Portal India was to add a quiz as well India/Quiz
Portals introduce the Wikipedia reader to new developments by the wikiproject showing selected biographies, articles, pictures to feature periodically, and archive the previous suggestions. The portal may list information introducing the portal subject, categories, did you know, to do, other wikiprojects and news features as well.
Whereas Wikipedia:WikiProject Saskatchewan is an organization created to promote Saskatchewan usage and participation in Saskatchewan article editing and development.
As New articles are created check the wiki link at the bottom of the article title 'What Links Here. Here related articles and biographies are listed which should have reciprocal links or information upon the newly created main article page.
SuggestBot uses your prior contributions to predict other articles you might want to edit. This robot may give you some recommendations you may like to attempt. SriMesh | talk01:24, 7 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Quite a few of the topics of debate have been addressed by visiting editors who have helped in various ways to address ongoing concerns. Requests for assistance with online existing Wikipedia Saskatchewan articles were given improvements / changes where needed.
Looking forward toward more contributions from you! Happy Editing!!
This would be WikiProject Saskatchewan's third full-fledged edition of our Newsletter, and we'd like to start by saying we are very happy to have you among us. Archives:
Lastly, this is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the Newsletter. Any and all contributions are welcome. Simply let yourself be known to any of the undersigned, or just start editing!
When looking through some Saskatchewan Highway articles (especially those containing intersection lists), you may notice that there are red links to potential Saskatchewan road articles (especially Range and Township Roads). However, many of these roads do not appear on the List of Saskatchewan provincial roads. If you happen to read over any highway articles, and you notice a red link to a road that does not appear on the provincial roads list, please add the road's name to the appropriate section on that list. Eventually, I believe that we will have a list of all known Saskatchewan rural roads. Thank you. Ultraflame | talk 01:35, 7 August 2007
There are still articles needing attention and please pick one at the Adopt-An-Article department of the the Saskatchewan Communities & Neighbourhoods project.
If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created or substantially expanded article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.|
Please add new articles and as the newsletter acquires new information an update will be sent out to all subscribers signed up on WikiProject Saskatchewan Subscribers

Almost time again for another newsletter.... Wikipedia:WikiProject Saskatchewan/Newsletter/September 2007 has been begun, too soon for delivery yet, the first week into the month works not too badly I think. Just thought I would give you a sneak peek, so you could start to feel out where the highways routes are heading. I randomly picked a few highway articles to include on the to do area of the new portal. Have a peek, and add a things to do complete article for Sk highways if you wish to.... filled up with stubs to expand / articles to create what have you...see this page...Saskatchewan/Things to do Oh my goodness is autumn coming up that soon?!?SriMesh | talk05:08, 26 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
I will await your note, in that case, before delivery of the newsletter, so that all can be informed of the latest breaking news in this case. I have taken the automatic dating off the template insert. Hopefully all goes well, best regards in all your efforts. SriMesh | talk02:59, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Add my two cents worth here and there (one place I think it is more like 4 cents ) :-) , and contacted user NE2 for their assistance on how they proceed with their road/highway articles of the U.S.A.... and started a stub article about one of the road articles in question on the Talk page...Grasswood Road, Saskatchewan, but it is too late to do more than a very rough outline which doesn't do the road much justice as of yet, even forgot to add the hamlet of Furdale, and the hamlet of Grasswood. Hope to get back at it soon. SriMesh | talk05:01, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
I don't know what to do about the all of this and the deletions of user NE2. Some of the roads are less notable than others. I don't think too much one way or the other about the roads articles, it took quite a lot of time to set up the list article but pshaw, if it isn't wanted, it isn't wanted on wikipedia. Big huge notable things seems to be also a wiki thing, and supporting things are not. Are you going to save the awesome work you did on the template and break it down like they suggest at Navigational templates. I suppose finding other templates which were that size didn't support another, and it does seem like your first hunch to make itsy bitsy navigational templates, is more the wiki norm. It would be nice to save the template, as they do seem to be handy devices, and contribute to the norm and editing is done in a central place. Sorry about my note when you were creating the template when I cited the Mb one. Tis a weird place this wikipedia. Promoting articles to higher status, tis hard to get votes. Creating new articles tis hard to find enough editors for the multitudes which need doing. Deleting articles attracts a bizzilion trizzillion editors like flies to honey and very quickly. Tis a very weird phenomena, and usually the deletionists are not even local to the article topic, as I surf around peeking here and there. But cést la vie. There is always something else to do. SriMesh | talk04:39, 1 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
I am not sure about doing anything with the Navigational templates, but if the template is deleted, I will save a copy of it somewhere. Should the list of Saskatchewan roads be deleted, I will also save a copy of that. Ultraflame03:43, 3 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
I am glad to hear you will save your work on the templates. I saved the list of Saskatchewan Roads, and put a note to change the name of it...as per deletion page. I started the Saskatchewan Roads article, and from there, hopefully a theory about notablity of roads can be developed ( I suggested on the deletion page some A,B,C to consider) , as there are some famous roads in SK, and some roads which really really should be highways, and highways which aren't maintained which have become roads. I will try to add more to the Saskatchewan Roads article portion over the next couple of days so long as the deletionist frenzy doesn't make it all go away into never never land. SriMesh | talk05:36, 5 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Hello again Well, I worked on the List of Saskatchewan provincial roads, and not Grasswood Road, Saskatchewan and now Grasswood Road, Saskatchewan is gone... :-( It is too bad, I am pretty sure Grasswood Road will soon be annexed by the City of Saskatoon, and within the City's plans for the proposed second ring road or circle drive road which is in the planning department as we speak and these plans are online as PDF files. I have pics of the ongoing construction of Clarence and Lorne Avenue which are being widened all the way south of the city to Grasswood, to accomodate the new Whitecap golf course and casino, which are increasing road traffic as well as the new city subdivisions south of Circle Drive, and the other new site is the Chief Whitecap Park. Grasswood business centre is also growing by leaps and bounds now that the drive in is gone, and that land is freed up. I didn't get a chance to add any of this, as I spent too long on the other article, as well as on the university of Sask article which is under peer review, and also needs tweaks. I thought an under construction sign would save Grasswood Road as I had to go out of town on the long week-end. I believe Grasswood is a TMS road and as such is maintained by the provincial government department: Saskatchewan Highways and Transportation. It sure isn't a rural grid gravel road which would be maintained by the RM of Corman Park I took pictures of Grasswood Road, on the way out of town, but now tis of no avail. Ah well. I am not sure if it is worthwhile uploading them now. (However, I got a picture of an original Dominion Land Survey road allowance, which I will put online soon-getting late tonight.) I added another comment to the deletion entry page about the article started at the top of the list page regarding a new article name proposal....and then maybe the article can list notable roads at the bottom of the article like the Ireland wikipedia article.
Hello there...We will publish just that...that there is a lot going on...good luck with your school! That is so important, and congratulations for being able to do studies, and contribute so ever so much to Wiki roads! That is amazing. When things settle into schedules, it will be easier again, and things will also probably settle online also.SriMesh | talk02:35, 12 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Did you want to add a highway article to October. I mooshed a little into the section, but if you would prefer - you are the SK highway liason - perhaps what you would like to highlight would be better. Would you like to add an October highway blurb?
I have updated the next newsletter for October, as there is a bit of a rush to get Louis Riel fixed to remain at feature article status. Would it be possible to add a few items to the newsletter, so it can hit the press at the beginning of October, rather than the first week into October? In that way, perhaps those who wish to help out with Louis Riel can get their feet wet?

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. --Pumpmeup12:09, 20 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Saskatchewan Roads and Highways
The WikiProject Canada Roads is undergoing an overhaul. It is aiming to produce some Good articles and Featured articles of highway content pertaining to Canada, and for the Saskatchewan Roads and Highways for Saskatchewan highways. As Saskatchewan is still a work in progress this is a challenging endeavour for as the guidelines are followed as laid out at either Highway wikiproject, they become red link farms because wikilinked articles have not been developed regarding the communities, provincial and regional parks and rural municipalities which the highways meander through. Please keep apprised of the progress, and if any Saskatchewan articles rise above stub we will list it on the main page.
There is also discussion started about assessment and navigation boxes on the talk page. Please peek in to add any comments you may have.
Recently articles Saskatchewan Highway 1, 33, 34, 58, 913, 914 have been improved, but they need more help so they can become articles nominated as Good articles. Please help out if you are able, even to create community and rural municipality articles for these Highway articles would be an enormous help.

Wikiproject Saskatchewan now has 0.5% FA articles 0.22% GA articles, about 5% B class articles, about 35% Start class articles and 68% stub class articles.
Saskatchewan related articles contribute 1,799 / 19,566 articles, or 9.19 % of Canadian related articles!!!

The result is...please, if you read this, help to tag Saskatchewan sports articles with both Saskatchewan, and Canadian sports project templates checked off as yes! Some sports articles may also need the appropriate general sports wikiproject talk template or a Wikiproject biography talk template as well.
There are 6 articles written which overlap both the 1850 tagged Saskatchewan and the 870 tagged Canadian Music articles.
Canadian Federal Government articles which relate to Saskatchewan are the following 14 articles, a couple of which are rated FA.
The most tagged articles are Saskatchewan communities. Saskatchewan Communities & Neighbourhoods comprise 551 articles - tagged with both the Saskatchewan communities and neighbourhoods template, as well as the new Canadian - provinces template.
The Portal Saskatchewan peer review has produced some excellent suggestions, many of which have been enacted. Some of the portal categories should be added to Saskatchewan wikiproject such as the instructions on how to add content to a box portal concept.
To go forward to apply for PORTAL feature status, 10 articles, 10 biogrphies, 10 images which are qualified as good or feature should be added to the portal in the various areas.

New highway change for Saskatchewan. Saskatchewan adopted the International metric system in 1971, and even though school trustees would like the imperial system returned to the classrooms, there is a new change intended for Saskatchewan. The latest news to hit the province of Saskatchewan is to adapt the new traffic directionality concept that Saskatchewan drivers will undertake. As of the beginning of the month, drivers will begin driving on the left side of the road rather than the right side. Which Side Of The Road To Drive On? Left Or Right For more information on changes to Saskatchewan Highways.
Prince Albert is one of the Saskatchewan city articles which has been growing by leaps and bounds. Many communities are being created and are picked up by the new article robot. Please help to tag these and all community articles with the new assessment talk page banner at Template:WikiProject Canada. *Stub class just barely introduces the topic, much is missing.
Start class gives a bit more knowledge but it shows one of these to expand upon a stub article;
a particularly useful picture or graphic
multiple links that help explain or illustrate the topic
a subheading that fully treats an element of the topic
multiple subheadings that indicate material that could be added to complete the article
B-Class checklist
1. It is suitably referenced, and all major points are appropriately cited.
2. It reasonably covers the topic, and does not contain major omissions or inaccuracies.
3. It has a defined structure, including a lead section and one or more sections of content.
4. It is free from major grammatical errors.
5. It contains appropriate supporting materials, such as an infobox, images, or diagrams.

Saskatchewan photographs
when you are traveling or looking through old pictures, if there are any of Saskatchewan roads, highways or Saskatchewan highway signs that you would wish to upload to wikimedia commons, it would be appreciated. It would be good to show our highways in various seasons as well as with various geographical terrains. Of especial import when getting involved with photographing highways are junctions, scenic points of interest, historical markers, intersections, divided highways, road crews, historical road crews, historical travel on highways, overpasses, underpasses and road signs showing concurrencies between various highways.
If you have started an article for Saskatchewan, and wikimedia commons does not have a related Saskatchewan image, then place this code on the article's talk page below the banner for Saskatchewan {{reqphotoin|Saskatchewan}} and your request will be added to the above category.
If you have added a request for a map, there are now locator maps for Saskatchewan available which should alleviate some of the requests added at Wikipedia requested maps in Saskatchewan For example see Saskatoon for a locator map in use.

All designated project coordinators are invited to join this working group. If your project hasn't formally designated any editors as coordinators, but you are someone who regularly deals with coordination tasks in the project, please feel free to join as well. — Delievered by §hepBot (Disable) on behalf of the WikiProject coordinators' working group at 06:29, 28 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

With fall and school starting up this late August and early September, it is time to start or upgrade the various secondary and post secondary education and Higher education in Saskatchewan articles for Saskatchewan or help with requests . Ensure that principals, vice principals, and current curricula and extracurricular activities are accurate for the 2009-2010 school year. Notable changes in curricula and extracurricular activities could be added to a history section. The newest education article seems to be an U of S article on the University of Saskatchewan Physical Activity Complex. List of universities in Canada this article was recently demoted from Featured list status. If anyone can work on this article and the new requirements to get it re-instated this would be awesome.

If there was a collaboration department, then the North-West Rebellion, and its several child articles such as its battles and people would be excellent articles to find references for, expand and achieve GA or FA status. In the words of Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Christine Tell who proclaimed, that "the 125th commemoration, in 2010, of the 1885 Northwest Resistance is an excellent opportunity to tell the story of the prairie Métis and First Nations peoples' struggle with Government forces and how it has shaped Canada today."[1]
At this time, as well, the articles Aboriginal peoples in Canada and First Nations are undergoing GA review. For an idea of updating the Northwest Rebellion articles watch these two articles or assist with their upgrade.
Feature articles are being re-called due to a lack of "alt tags" for the images included in the articles, as in the ongoing screening of FA articles; Canada and Territorial evolution of Canada. When beginning or updating a Saskatchewan related article, ensure the use of alt tags, which will save time later when upgrading the article.
Please make use of Wikipedia School and University projects and project instrutions on wikipedia, inform fellow students, classes, or school instructors. Higher education in Saskatchewan, was a part of a project that encompassed higher education in all the provinces and territories of Canada. As well students in public schools have been working on Saskatchewan town articles in the past.

Hello and welcome back to the WikiProject Saskatchewan newsletter! I, User:Presidentman, am the new editor. You may see some changes due to the fact it's my first newsletter. I'm just going easy on myself, but it will get more complex as time goes on.

We’re excited to announce that User:Presidentman has joined WikiProject Saskatchewan as our Editor in Chief. Presidentman will oversee editorial content and the Saskatchewan Wikiproject community contributions on the Wikiproject newsletter. Presidentman has also successfully developed the Picture of the Day project and has been active on wikipedia for close to three years in a plethora of projects enriching wikipedia with close to 3,000 contributions. The transition between our old editor and the new has been smoother than any of us could have hoped for — SriMesh wrote their last newsletter article for January, 2010, and Presidentman started up without missing a beat for February 2010. The previous years for SriMesh, the past editor, had been richly rewarding, seeing subscriptions grow, informing interested editors of developments and changes to the Saskatchewan wikipedia community and supporting activities on the Saskatchewan Wikiproject. It is now time for me to move to new writing projects to finish, and further responsibilities which are vying for my attention. Please join me in welcoming Presidentman to the their new position! Presidentman is working on a host of new features and an updated look, which will take things to a new level. It is wonderful to have a new editor to bring in the new year! Expect great things.

Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Canada/The 10,000 Challenge is up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge for the UK which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. If you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Canada like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1600 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for Canada but fuelled by a contest such as The North America Destubathon to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. I would like some support from Canadian wikipedians here to get the Challenge off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile! Cheers. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:55, 22 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
