editPlease stop changing the date stamp on the Montreal Canadiens roster. It should be the same as the other rosters, and therefore there is no need to have a link to the Wikipedia article of the date. FlameMoth (talk) 13:06, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Athletics canada.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Athletics canada.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

editWelcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Brian Rolston, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. NHL free agents
editPlease do not added players who sign free-agent contracts today to the category of the team that has signed them (for example, Alex Auld to Category:Ottawa Senators players). These categories are only for players who have actually appeared in regular-season or playoff games with the team. Just because he has signed a contract with them does not mean Auld will ever actually play for the Senators. Sure, it is quite likely; however, Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. Thanks. Proposed deletion of Antoine Lafleur
editA proposed deletion template has been added to the article Antoine Lafleur, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- Article fails WP:N, WP:ATHLETE, and WP:HOCKEY/PPF#NOTE.
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. – Nurmsook! talk... 08:22, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (File:Header2007worldchampionships.jpg)
editThanks for uploading File:Header2007worldchampionships.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 07:07, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer
editHello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:01, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
editHello TheGreenGiant23! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 2 of the articles that you created are currently tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 3 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:
- Christopher Rinke - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Mike Hughes (rower) - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Adelskalender leaders women
editDear Mr. Giant, I noted that you added Kristina Groves to Template:Adelskalender leaders women, back in March 2010. According to Evert Stenlund, however, she's never led the Adelskalender. Pending a source of yours, I've reverted your edit (and then added Karin Kania who somehow was missing.) Cheers, Oliphaunt (talk) 09:59, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
Oh, here's a chronological list of leaders, as distilled from Evert Stenlund's page. Last appearance as leader is starred:

Slow down
editYou created a series of track athletes. While they are notable, please slow down. None had a reference that they were Canadian champs and made the Olympic team. On the talk pages, not one was done correctly. They were missing "}}" at the end of banners, misspelled and all had "class=start". When the articles are two sentences and poorly referenced, they articles are class=stub. Also, don't wikify dates. Bgwhite (talk) 05:02, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

editHi. When you recently edited Justin Rodhe, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bainbridge, Ohio (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Canada at the 2016 Olympics page
editCould you please cite your source for Canada being qualified in men's Field Hockey? The source currently in the article does not back up that claim, and according to the qualification rules ( http://www.fih.ch/files/Sport/General documents/2014-02 - Rio 2016 - Qualification System - FINAL - Hockey - EN.pdf ) Canada's qualification depends on the results of the other semi-finals and of the remaining continental championships. Speedy deletion nomination of Hillary Elliott
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Hillary Elliott requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Pan Am Games
editHi, thank you so much for the barnstar!
Regarding water polo competition, I started out with Brazil, but it doesn't mean afterwards I'm not doing for the other teams/groups. That's what I did in other sports for the Pan Am Games, like rugby sevens. Anyway, templates are better IMHO, because it helps to mantain all related articles updated easily. Maybe it's a little bit harder to edit them, but way better than editing each article by itself. Indech (talk) 00:46, 8 July 2015 (UTC)
- Man, sometimes, I have to optmize the job. Not always easy to do every single edit I want. It's doing the best one can and hoping others will collaborate. That is the way it has been working perfectly in the Brazil at the 2015 Pan American Games article. Each one doing what knows best or he's more comfortable with. Without organizing, people know I'll be doing the tables and matches or even bringing more content. Other, I know will focus on sources or disambiguations or name of the athletes and so on. So take it easy on the "same time or nothing" argument. As for the templates, I don't know if you understood the concept here. There are 41 nations on the Pan Ams. Imagine if I had to edit or check every one of them everytime there was a competition. That would be much more problematic. I can't understand why you say people have to look up all over to find it. It's there, in the competition article. One single place. Not scattered. One edit, and all 41 mirrors will readily show the edit. It's like using Google Drive. Way easier. How is that not a consensus to you? Indech (talk) 01:16, 8 July 2015 (UTC)
- Nope. Sorry, man. You're wrong on this one. Even though the last Summer Olympics were 3 years ago, the templates were already been used. I simply couldn't remember how far back it went, so I just checked: At least for the tables, templates are used from 2002 FIFA World Cup on. So, checkmark for major events. Another thing: the Wikipedia is a very dynamic tool. I'm editing (at the least the Portuguese language version) since 2004. And one of the cool things of this tool is that it evolves a lot throughout the years. So, it's not because something was never done before, that it is essetially wrong. And you never addressed my arguments regarding practical issues. So, you don't need to have good faith on me, pal. It's just a matter of

editPlease stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Canada at the 2016 Summer Olympics, you may be blocked from editing. You need to stop adding false information and stop acting like a whiny brat. Seriously adding false information to articles is violation of policy. Grow up or stop editing. This is the *official tracker* of Athletics Canada (who makes the decision to go in the end) [5] Do you see someone listed for the 400m? Two athletes for the heptathlon? You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you remove or blank page content or templates from Wikipedia, as you did at Table tennis at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Qualification. Australia and USA are the only eligible nations for a team quota (as they are the only nations who qualified 2 athletes from their region). Ergo, please stop removing this information deliberately. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 12:56, 11 April 2016 (UTC)
- Last warning. I’m contributing to Wikipedia for 10 years, far longer than you, and I never did vandalism of any kind. You seem to confuse vandalism and disagreement, Next time, you’ll try to bully or insult me again, I will take care of you, and end once and for good this childish stupid war you’ll try to start with me and other users. edit You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. — Coffee // have a ☕️ // beans // 04:21, 3 April 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Grace Gao (badminton player)
editA tag has been placed on Grace Gao (badminton player) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an orphaned disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic); or
- disambiguates no (zero) extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The article Vanessa Grenier has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Fails WP:NSKATE; medal placement at the junior level or bronze/silver medals at the senior-level national championships explicitly do not meet the requirements of WP:NSKATE.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Bgsu98 (Talk) 18:02, 2 May 2024 (UTC)
