Rumex as remedy for nettle sting
editHello, yes I removed the section of the entry for Rumex that described the application of Rumex to a nettle sting as a placebo effect, etc. The rubbing of Rumex or dock onto skin that's been affected by a brush with nettles is an ancient remedy for relief from the sting of nettles. One well-known authority on this time-tested tradition can be found here:
https://www.botanical.com/botanical/mgmh/d/docks-15.html
To describe this easy and soothing remedy as a placebo is a disservice to the art and science of herbalism and may also deny the reader valuable information.
Thank you for considering removing this inaccurate characterization of a well-established traditional remedy. Thanks!
