BEFORE CRITICIZING THE NOTABILITY OF THE TOPIC:

I understand already that many of these things may already be covered (or be able to be covered) at Pedophilia or related articles. The fact is that these cases are actually unique, because legality and moral views for these specific kinds of pedophilic, or older x younger relationships differentiate in slightly different ways. There also developed a fetishism for this sort of thing, as you can see at wiktionary:pornography, with the image clearly depicting a teacher. There are many popular culture references to this sort of thing, especially in pornography, as well as in films and anime. There have been tons of incidents where these types of "bonds" or "abusive sequences of events," depending on the situation and what you view it as, have occurred. Please remember that even though most people agree that pedophilia is set in stone a definite wrong, including me, and that it is illegal in most places, this is an encyclopedia that has to remain neutral, even respecting the other point of view to some degree as well.

The legal facts, which will be mentioned in the article (I'm only speaking for the US here): In many US states, the age of consent is 16, for example. So technically, as long as it is consensual, this type of relationship can legally occur between a 40 year old teacher and a 16 year old student, but remember consensual is the key word. This is the case for any man or woman, regardless of whether or not they're a teacher or whatever. The key difference is that, because of the regulations at at least all the schools I've ever known or heard of like ever, have regulations on how close a teacher can get to a student, and this is even in fact part of their training in some cases. To violate that general policy, even if it's not necessarily a sexual thing, but just leaving your classroom door shut with one student in it and you being the only adult, is a huge no-no, because suspicions may occur among administrators or other faculty. The bottom line is, whether it's the whole consensual 16-45 year old sex thing or not that's technically legal, and the administrators or someone finds out, that teacher will almost definitely be fired and they will not be able to teach any longer at any school. Arrest issues are almost a different issue that's out of their hands at that point, and that's if it's not consensual, which falls under the category of statutory rape, and will anyway if the child is under 16.

Professing at a college is a different story. I've actually heard stories from other people and from the news in the past about young women "manipulating" professors using sex to "get better grades". Obviously these are set situations and can't be used in articles. But generally, since the students are adults at the point of being college students, then the rules about these sorts of "no touchy-touch" things are a little more relaxed as far as I know (just a little bit). It is still oftentimes not recommended by society, however, for a student to get close in that way to their college professor, just because it violates a professional relationship, and, in the case of a breakup or other emotional negative occurrence during the bond/relationship, them even seeing each other during studies for the students and work for the professor would become very uncomfortable.

All or most of this stuff will be mentioned in the article for readers who aren't aware of these things. I actually think it's a quite interesting topic, which I'm surprised is not already on Wikipedia. I'll get to this project more eventually. Remember; sources are key!
