Janaki Sabatham

I am the creator, and before the move to mainspace, I was the sole editor. Check the edit history So G6 is fair. Kailash29792 (talk) 12:19, 7 August 2024 (UTC)

G6 does not apply, read WP:RDRAFT. Sam Sailor 12:21, 7 August 2024 (UTC)
My bad. It's WP:G7 which says "For redirects created as a result of a page move, the mover must also have been the only substantive contributor to the pages before the move". May I go again? Kailash29792 (talk) 05:22, 9 August 2024 (UTC)
WP:RDRAFT is clear:
Redirects that are a result of page moves from the draft namespace to the main namespace should be retained.[note 1]
I can understand if RDRAFT may have passed under the radar, but I don't think the wording of G7 somehow cancels out RDRAFT. Sam Sailor 17:31, 9 August 2024 (UTC)

Notes

  1. ^ It was determined that the community consensus in this RfC regarding draft namespace redirects amounted to "there is a clear consensus against deletion of draft namespace redirects. There is a rough consensus against the alternative proposal to delete draft namespace redirects after six months."

Rewriting of a page

Hello Sam,

I've just uploaded a draft for submission ( Nonso Okapla) but it's been flagged as advertising.

I would much appreciate any pointers on how to rewrite it to become encyclopedic. Thanks. Tobeaninyei (talk) 10:27, 17 October 2024 (UTC)

The best way would be to spend some months becoming acquainted with Wikipedia and the it's writing style. Draft:Nonso Okpala as it stands is unbearably promotional, and, not to much surprise, many sentences are copied directly from the sources. Sam Sailor 10:35, 17 October 2024 (UTC)

Thank you

Hey, Sam. I just want you to know that the things you're writing on our common friend's page are appreciated. If they edit again without even trying to do anything about the points you're telling them about, it'll be time for a CIR block. Bishonen | tålk 21:26, 16 November 2024 (UTC).

Hejsan, Bishonen. Thanks for keeping an eye on this. I wish they were responding, but I doubt they will. There's something almost amusing about a ChatGPT-reply that includes the wording "my primary focus was on copying the exact lines from the source material to ensure accuracy." when the opposite is the reality. But good on ChatGPT to accidentally produce a blurb implying that they violated copyright or closely paraphrased. :-) Best, Sam Sailor 06:25, 17 November 2024 (UTC)

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:26, 19 November 2024 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Charles Corm II

Hi Sam, please note that your edits to the above AfD have been reverted by the article creator. You may not have been notified as it looks to have been a manual revert. This removal makes a big difference as it's now 3 vs 3 on keep to delete rather than 4 vs 3. I also note that the user continues to make unfounded accusations of discrimination based on ethnicity and religion. This user's behaviour is getting close to WP:ANI imho. Spiderone(Talk to Spider) 06:42, 19 November 2024 (UTC)

I also felt that your source analysis was important as it highlighted the fact that the sources were all false. Spiderone(Talk to Spider) 06:44, 19 November 2024 (UTC)

Hi, Spiderone, many thanks for taking care of that. I suspect that there might be socking going on, and I will mention you in an SPI shortly. All the best, Sam Sailor 08:38, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
