Hello,
I'm a Ph.D. physicist with an interest in posting an article (series of articles?) covering science questions & policy.
The topic that has been most on my mind lately is evolution. I think that I can give a competent and fair treatment of the case for evolution, including the principle objections cited by creationists. To see samples of my earlier postings, browse [ http://seabed.nationalgeographic.com/ngm/forum.tmpl?issue_id=20041101&forum_index=1] National Geographic's "Was Darwin Wrong?" forum and look for the name Sarah M.
Is this an appropriate site for such activity?
I have found a number of articles elsewhere on the web, and am planning to use external links extensively. How does the community feel about this?
I'll be away from the keyboard for about a week.SMesser 23:55, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Welcome!
editHello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions, it's great to see another qualified scientist around keeping an eye on the politically and religiously motivated vandalism to scientific articles that occurs on Wikipedia. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- How to edit a page
- Editing tutorial
- Picture tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Naming conventions
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome! Distribution function
editAt first I was thinking that Distribution function should be a disambiguation page that points to Cumulative distribution function and Distribution function (physics), but I see that the pages that currently link to Distribution function are mostly about physics, anyway, so I guess it's okay to leave things as they are. By the way, don't forget to sign your comments... - dcljr 21:30, 24 Feb 2005 (UTC)
RfC
editHello. I was not enlightened concerning the proceedure by reading the page on the RfC process, but I am also not against giving another week for an amicable solution without outside involvement. Wdanwatts 19:17, 15 Mar 2005 (UTC)
