Question from zackbaddorf on COI edit request

Hey @Rusalkii! Hope you are well. Thanks for reviewing my request to edit the first line summary of the Atlantic Council Global Citizen Awards article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Atlantic_Council_Global_Citizen_Awards#c-Rusalkii-20240917214900-Zackbaddorf-20240910184000

I noticed the request isn't showing up in the COI request page anymore: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Wikipedia_conflict_of_interest_edit_requests

What did you think of my proposed revision to "Global Citizen Awards, presented by the Atlantic Council, honor individuals ranging from heads of state to world-renowned artists for their contributions toward addressing global challenges."?

I tried to avoid making it too close a paraphrase of the source, as you advised. Thanks in advance for your help on this! 63.122.176.26 (talk) 13:22, 6 November 2024 (UTC)

Request

Hello! Thanks again for reviewing my COI edit request at Talk:V Pappas. I have submitted a subsequent request to clarify the subject's relationship status, which also includes an appeal for feedback to address the Template:Resume-like tag on the page. I'm comfortable waiting for a reviewer to reach my request in the backlog, but I also wanted to reach out directly to see if you'd be willing to review my open request or offer suggestions for removing the warning banner. I've posted a similar request for feedback on the user Talk page of the editor who added the tag. I'd like to address any concerns but I do not edit the main space because of my COI. Thanks either way! Inkian Jason (talk) 15:54, 8 October 2024 (UTC)

@Inkian Jason as you may have noticed from the late response, I've been taking a bit of a break from editing. I may get back to the COI edit request queue later, but it's not something I'm actively working on right now, I think I'm a bit worn out from that big push I did a few months ago. Question from JayGatsby2123 on The Vegetarian (17:27, 11 October 2024)

Hey! I noticed on this page, someone linked a scam website to every link. How do I fix this? (The Vegetarian by Han Kang) --JayGatsby2123 (talk) 17:27, 11 October 2024 (UTC)

@JayGatsby2123 sorry for the late response. You may want to take a look at the editing instructions here for future reference: Help:Introduction_to_editing_with_VisualEditor Rusalkii (talk) 00:14, 9 November 2024 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs

The article The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs you nominated as a good article has failed  ; see Talk:The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of the article. Question from Traucks (00:47, 19 October 2024)

Hi I just want to pout a page about myself because I am the writer/director of numerous films listed on Wikipedia, Black Water, The Reef, The Reef Stalked etc. I am finding this all a bit confusing. Is it possible to just put my page up without all the editor training. I doubt I will do any editing. All i want to do is put my a page up about myself so I can direct people to it to learn more about me. Thanks Andrew --Traucks (talk) 00:47, 19 October 2024 (UTC)

@Traucks sorry for the late response. Writing an article about yourself is editing, and in fact one of the hardest kinds of editing there is. You can start at WP:My first article, and also take a look at the conflict of interest guidelines for making articles about yourself or related people. Rusalkii (talk) 00:11, 9 November 2024 (UTC)

Question from MikeK53 (15:42, 21 October 2024)

Hello Rusalkii, I just made a small edit to "Shoe Dog". I have to get to work but will my edit be "in review" until a later date? I haven't had a chance to review the large volume of information on the Wiki account website. Thanks in advance for your help. Cheers! Mike K. --MikeK53 (talk) 15:42, 21 October 2024 (UTC)

@MikeK53 sorry for the late response. Your edit should show up immediately! Rusalkii (talk) 00:10, 9 November 2024 (UTC)

Question from Cali72 on Fascism (19:55, 25 October 2024)

Hello - I would like to make an edit to the listed definition of “Fascism”. It is inaccurate to associate this term with a “right-wing” or “ultraconservative” political party, just as it would be to associate it with a “left-wing” political party. It has historically been used to describe authoritarian dictators, such as Hitler. Getting consensus from a group of people with a specific ideology to try to paint an opposing political party with the brush of “Fascism” doesn’t make it so, and is just wrong. There are better ways to express your opinion than calling half the country fascist if they don’t agree with you. --Cali72 (talk) 19:55, 25 October 2024 (UTC)

@Cali72 sorry for the late response. For making edits to controversial topics like this, I recommend getting consensus on the talk page first before making the edit. You can make a post with your suggested change, and people will discuss whether it should be done. Unfortunately if you disagree with the consensus I can't help you make the change - consensus among editors is how editing here works, regardless about whether you or I personally agree with the outcome. @Sharanyashettyofficial sorry for the late response! What do you mean by personal information? You may want to look at Help:Introduction_to_editing_with_VisualEditor, and remember that any information you add needs to have a source. Rusalkii (talk) 00:07, 9 November 2024 (UTC)

Question from Munoxaajiosaman on Rawail Singh (20:34, 4 November 2024)

Question from Humanoid slave (05:20, 9 November 2024)

Hi thanks for reaching out. It's a bit confusing and I hope I don't make any mistakes. I was wondering how I add and edit images. Thanks again --Humanoid slave (talk) 05:20, 9 November 2024 (UTC)

@Humanoid slave go to "Edit" in the top right, then in the new edit menu Insert -> Images and media. That should let you choose an image from Commons or upload your own image. Make sure the image is appropriately licensed. Rusalkii (talk) 21:32, 9 November 2024 (UTC)

Question from RJEB51 (17:34, 18 November 2024)

How do I post a correction to an erroneous statement? --RJEB51 (talk) 17:34, 18 November 2024 (UTC)

@RJEB51, you can edit the page freely, but if you want to fix a mistake, make sure that you have a reliable source. Check the existing source, if there is one - if it's the source that has a potential error, mention it on the talk page so that other editors can discuss first, before making the change.
For an introduction to general editing, you can check out Help:Introduction_to_editing_with_VisualEditor Rusalkii (talk) 05:05, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
