Tips for improving articles
editHi Piterkeo! It's nice to see your contributions to poorly-known taxa such as planarians. However, some articles are quite technical, which may actually prevent or discourage the average reader from learning about the taxa (e.g. much of the description of Luteostriata is only relevant or comprehensible to specialists already familiar with planarian anatomy and taxonomy: a very small percentage of people). Please see Wikipedia:Make technical articles understandable for guidelines on how to make the information more accessible and useful while remaining accurate and comprehensive: for instance, you might define technical terms in parentheses, and/or include relevant wikilinks to aid the reader in dealing with unfamiliar terms. Don't let my advice discourage you from creating new articles, however; I'm sure you have much more to offer. Cheers! --Animalparty-- (talk) 04:07, 18 June 2014 (UTC)
Rectartemon depressus

Disambiguation link notification for April 16
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Xenoturbella, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Nerve cord and Bentos. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution
editThank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Acoelomorpha into Acoela. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 22:53, 17 April 2016 (UTC)
- @Diannaa: Hello, Dianaa! Thank you for informing me about this issue. I'll be more careful in the future. — Piter Keo 01:20, 18 April 2016 (UTC)

Invite to the African Destubathon
editHi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most geography, wildlife and women articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 55 African countries, so should be enjoyable! Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African wildlife articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 stub count, of which many are rated high importance. If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing any article related to a topic you often work on, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Might be a good way to work on fleshing out articles you've long been meaning to target and get rewarded for it! Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 04:57, 13 October 2016 (UTC)
Latin American 10,000 Challenge invite
editHi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Latin America/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Brazil, Mexico, Peru and Argentina etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Latin American content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon. If you would like to see this happening for Latin America, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Latin America, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant!♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 00:49, 27 October 2016 (UTC)
Europe 10,000 Challenge invite
editHi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)

It looks as if you have introduced some errors in the info box you loaded for this bio. I wonder if you could proof read the edit and make some corrections. Cheers Castlemate (talk) 00:01, 30 January 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you! Indeed I wrote the wrong surname in the abbreviation. I was thinking of A. G. Hamilton, a biologist with whom Fletcher wrote some papers. I made the correction. Piter Keo 01:34, 30 January 2017 (UTC)

Hunsriqueano
editPeople generally produce "h" as /ʁ/ in southeastern Brazil even in generally nativized loanwords if they are pronounced as foreign. If that's true of this word in particular, I accept it, since the accent of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina should take precedence, but are you sure everyone would ignore its pronunciation? Srtª PiriLimPomPom (talk) 05:31, 13 September 2017 (UTC)
Piter Keo (talk • contribs) 21:15, 21 September 2017 (UTC)
Jurors for the upcoming WikiScienceCompetition
editHi, I don't if you missed all the messages I left here and on commons and wikiversity about this event.
I am checking with Ivo Kruusamägi from Wikimedia Estonia the composition of the final jury. We did our best to keep it balanced by continent, gender, field etc but in the end it is still a little bit eurocentric. I mean, it is good they are not all from Estonia and Italy, but of course it could have been better. Finding 15 names (and other one for more national juries) to help was not easy... I did gather some "maybes" from China and India in private that might be used next time, including people in national juries that we can promote but so far I could only reduce the gender unbalance.
I hope that the results will promote science around the globe in any case. As a last appropriate effort now that more urgent issues have been addressed and we are finalizing the main organization, I am looking all the profiles of active wikimedians from or related to Africa, South American Oceania or Asia, with a public name and surname (jurors should be public figures) and a scientific or technological education or position, like yours.
Would you be interested in joining us to be a juror in the second-level jury? Unless you have plan to take part to the Brazilian jury, but we need someone with a background in ecology in any case. I am sure that next time we will find new additional contacts and I will find your name not at the last minute.
Even you don't have time, could you help us also in promoting the event among the people you know or mailing lists or groups you have joined? This will be also useful to promote more national juries next time.
Thank you in advance.--Alexmar983 (talk) 09:06, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
- Hello, Alex. Thank you for the invitation! I can and would gladly participate in the second-level jury. How should I proceed to do so? Cheers Piter Keo (talk • contribs) 10:57, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
- Send me your private mail. i will ask to add it to the jurors ML. And prepare to be famous... we will take the best picture on commons, add a new one ;)--Alexmar983 (talk) 11:21, 17 October 2017 (UTC)

Turdus polyglottos
editHi Piter- I saw your addition to Northern mockingbird. ITIS doesn't list that synonym. Are you sure of it? Do you have a good source? Eric talk 21:56, 6 September 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, Eric. Yes, I'm sure. As we can see in the authority of the bird's name, Mimus polyglottos (Linnaeus, 1758), this species was described by Linnaeus in the 10th edition of Systema Naturae. The species was described as Turdus polyglottos, as mentioned here. Here you can see the description in the original work itself. The name is already mentioned in the article itself in the Taxonomy section with the corresponding reference. ITIS unfortunately lacks a lot of synonyms for a lot of species. Bdellouridae genera
editHi Piter, with regards to removing Oahuhawaiiana from the list of accepted genera, you must be correct as its only species is now listed as a synonym for Pentacoelum kazukolinda. However, this also leaves both WoRMS and the Turbellarian Taxonomic Database (TTD) as less than fully correct, since they continue to list Oahuhawaiiana as an accepted genus. I have contacted Dr. Seth Tyler (TTD database manager) for changes to the TTD (and ultimately WoRMS) in the past, but do not know of he is able to still keep up with all the corrections. 'Cheers, Loopy30 (talk) 01:14, 18 September 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, Loopy30. I think the listing of Oahuhawaiiana may be simply a "leftwover" of changing the page of the species but forgetting to change the page of the genus. Considering that the last update of the TTD was in August this year, I hope that either Dr. Tyler or one of his collaborators will eventually correct it. Best wishes!
