Thanks for your help
editThank you for taking the time to clean up and add sources for facts in the article Primarily Primates. It's an article I had wanted to get back to for some time. My own interest stems from my background as an anthropologist. The well-known chimp Oliver who is resident there is how I first came to know of the sanctuary. Please continue to help improve the article and let me know if I can assist you in any way.LiPollis 15:25, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

I got your message and thanks. It is rare for the admins to protect an article or even semi-protect it unless there is a possibiity of legal action for the defammatory stuff being added. All you and I can do is report the vandals each time they reinstate the flase material and edit it out of the article. presumably, after 3 or 4 warnings, those people can be banned. Another idea would be to try and interest a heavily active editor in the article - someone who is on every day. Try going to the mammals project or the Primates project. there is one biologist editor I know who might help out with watching the article. I can't think of his name off the top of my head but he was super helpful in an article abou the Sweater curse back when every helpful edit I made was reverted by a passionate knitter who has some very deeply held personal opinions on that subject. If you go there, you might figure out who it is. he's diplomatic, brilliant and dedicated to wikipedia. WHo could ask for a better helper? LOL. LiPollis (talk) 22:13, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Page Clean-up and RSVP
editI just deleted invitations on this page that were going back to 2008. For some reason, I thought I had to keep them here, but just now I realized that I can remove those things from my Talk Page if I want. They were only reminding me of events I never attended, and I did want to go to a lot of them! So, from now on, if I can remember, I will delete invitations after the date of the event has passed and will just notate if I attended something. I just RSVP'd that I will be a "likely attendee for the Wikipedia Day NYC 2016 in NYC. I hope I can indeed make it this time, and that it won't be too nerdy. Would be nice to meet other Wikipedians in the city. nycdi (talk) 19:14, 23 December 2015 (UTC)

Pettiness
editIt's amazing to me how many editors are more invested in promoting their own biased opinions on whatever subjects rile them, rather than edit in a way that preserves neutrality for all. Idiotic, really. nycdi (talk) 21:38, 6 August 2016 (UTC)

Adding an Image
editI'm finding the instructions for creating a userbox overly complicated. I just want a template to copy and add in my text and an image to create a userbox, but I can't find how to add an image. I'm tired of clicking on page after page on Userboxes - can anyone just tell me how or point me where I can find explicit directions? Thanks in advance! nycdi (talk) 00:17, 4 December 2017 (UTC)
- The simplest way to create a userbox is to go to a userbox gallery such as Wikipedia:Userboxes/Life and find a userbox similar to what you want. Copy the userbox you like onto your user page and modify it with your image and text. I'll be glad to help if you want. Yours aye, Buaidh 19:59, 25 January 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you, I'll try that. But do I just copy the box or the code? Hmmm, I guess it's not that important, because now I can't remember what topic it was that I wanted to put into a userbox! But thank you for your response! nycdi (talk) 03:52, 3 March 2018 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for January 5
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Sleepers (TV series), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Alan David. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
