Hi. I've started a review at Talk:Ponnar Shankar (film)/GA1. My feeling is that is should probably be failed right off because it has problems in every section. However, with a bit of work I believe it could get there. I've put it on hold. I'll give you until August 7 to make the desired changes. I'll also let a few film editors know about it who might be interested in helping you improve it.♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:13, 24 July 2011 (UTC)

Re:Ponnar Shankar
editI've decided to review all sources and content as per your request and will be active in the talk page. If you wish to join, you're most welcome. Secret of success (talk) 10:39, 1 August 2011 (UTC)
- A soundtrack review by a critic is not available. I guess we have to quote the info given in the main review. Secret of success (talk) 11:49, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
- The gross figures were totally unsourced and would be considered as original research if they were added here. Secret of success (talk) 12:00, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
- No, even I wish there was a proper site storing Box office data. BO data in the main section looks absurd so I removed it. It would be better to mention it in a separate box office section along with a source. Secret of success (talk) 12:16, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
Congratulations, Ponnar Shankar is now a GA, got there eventually. You may list your article in Wikipedia:WikiProject Film/Indian cinema task force and WP:Films.♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:24, 7 August 2011 (UTC)
- Hey that was some impressive work. Keep up the good work! --Commander (Ping Me) 11:15, 7 August 2011 (UTC)
Well, I did not make much contribution to the article except in the review and box office section. The credit goes to all you guys, so keep up the good work! :) :) Secret of success (Talk) 12:11, 7 August 2011 (UTC)

DYK for Je suis né d'une cigogne
editOn 5 August 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Je suis né d'une cigogne, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that in the road movie Children of the Stork, which highlights themes of social exclusion and illegal immigration, a stork must obtain a forged passport to cross the Franco-German border? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |
Good Article promotion
editCongratulations! | |
Thanks for all the work you did in making Ponnar Shankar (film) a certified "Good Article"! Your work is much appreciated.
In the spirit of celebration, you may wish to review one of the Good Article nominees that someone else nominated, as there is currently a backlog, and any help is appreciated. All the best, – Quadell (talk) |
- And I see that Korkoro has passed now too! Well done. – Quadell (talk) 17:48, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
I've posted a few more issues on the talkpage. I'm not totally finished with a copy edit, but it's probably good enough now. I should warn you, it's not at all good enough for an FA which has much higher standards, so if you're looking to go to FAC it will need more work after GAN. Also just took a quick look at your Ponnar Shankar (film) review, and I think that again in Korkoro the reception section is a little heavy and a little difficult to read. It should be okay for GAN but again, if it ever goes to FAC, I'm thinking it needs an entire restructure. I'm sorry I didn't catch that in the PR. Truthkeeper88 (talk) 00:36, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

The article Korkoro you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Korkoro for comments about the article. Well done! GRAPPLE X 03:59, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
- I think the one with the watch on the railway lines should be kept as it shows something that's mentioned more often. And when I say paraphrasing, you have lines like "The opening scene, a close-up shot of barbed wire fences stretched along wooden posts with internment camp barracks in the background, is an image common to many Holocaust films, wrote Scott Tobias..." - which I have no problem with, but the order of the sentence is unusual for articles. Might be worth firing some direct quotes in sentences like that, or maybe I'm just being too cautious. GRAPPLE X 14:09, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
- Congratulations on a job well done! That truly was an amazing expansion from when I first saw the page at your first PR. Obviously I don't have to worry about the copy editing for GA! Anyway, keep me informed and let me know if you intend to take it to FAC. Still needs some work imo, but with more polish, has a chance. Truthkeeper (Talk) 17:27, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

Invitation to WikiProject Film/Indian cinema task force
editHello MorelMWilliam!, we are looking for editors to join WikiProject Indian cinema task force, a joint task force run between WikiProject Films and WikiProject India to ensure that Indian cinema-related articles on Wikipedia are written in an encyclopedic style, in a neutral manner using verifiable and reliable sources. We thought you might be interested, hoping that you will join us. Thanks!! |
I've made some edits and also 2 reverts for reasons mentioned in edit summaries. Please try & discuss in view of WP:V, WP:5P, WP:BLP etc. RobertRosen (talk) 16:35, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
Thank you for editing Mrs. Roy's user page. How do we go about removing the article on her. Being a NAC member Mrs. Roy is very upset with the controversy about her caste and marriage and wants it to be permanently removed from all wikipedia pages. We went to Wikipedia main page and from there to Contact us. We have already placed the takedown notice on the Aruna Roy user discussion page and also sent the email to [email protected], but no one has replied. Now how do we contact the website owner Mr. Jim Wales. Does he have a mail ID. Thanks for your assistance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arunaroy (talk • contribs) 06:20, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
- Hello Ms Roy, You should start a discussion here, where you would be asked for proofs of your identity such as your passport. After you establish your identity, a discussion page would be created for the article's deletion where different editors would weigh in your notability. The pages would usually be removed if the subjects are notable only for controversial reasons such as crime or scandals. If your account gets blocked, don't panic; it would be active once you prove that you are Ms Roy. I hope this helps. It was such a pleasure coming across you here, Ms Roy. morelMWilliam 07:49, 16 November 2012 (UTC)

Wiki Loves Pride 2014
editHi Morel. In case you are not aware, there is an upcoming campaign to improve coverage of LGBT-related topics on Wikipedia, culminating with an international edit-a-thon on June 21. See Wiki Loves Pride 2014 for more information. If you are interested, you might consider creating a page for a major city (or cities!) near you, with a list of LGBT-related articles that need to be created or improved. This would be a tremendous help to Wikipedia and coverage of LGBT culture and history. Thanks for your consideration, and please let me know if you have any questions! --Another Believer (Talk) 17:56, 13 May 2014 (UTC)

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite
editHi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 11:15, 20 October 2016 (UTC)
