editHello, I'm GiantSnowman. I noticed that you made a change to an article, List of association footballers who died while playing, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Ways to improve 2016 in Kuwait

The article 2014–15 Kuwait Emir Cup has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Completely unsourced and only describes the competition in the infobox, better off starting over with WP:TNT.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. SportingFlyer T·C 20:43, 29 July 2019 (UTC)

editTagging pages for speedy deletion
editHello, Mishary94,
Before tagging any more pages for speedy deletion, please review Criteria for Speedy Deletion. There are specific criteria that must apply to any pages tagged for speedy deletion, you can't just make up a reason. Also, if you believe a template should be deleted, please nominate it for deletion at WP:TFD. Tagging a template for speedy deletion means that ALL pages that it appears on are also tagged for speedy deletion which is not appropriate.
Also, any time you tag a page for deletion (CSD, PROD, AFD/TFD/CFD/etc.), you must notify the page creator on their user talk page. If you use Twinkle, the program will do this for you.
If you have any questions, please bring them to the Teahouse. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 04:23, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
Read the article talk page and please delete the content until someone can provide a good reason for it to be there. – PeeJay 16:27, 28 April 2021 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Getafe CF in European football, a page you have created yourself. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Bbb23 (talk) 12:42, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Bbb23: I put my reasons in the past but the administrators ignored them, and I still don't understand yet why you're deleting the article, please stop this. --Mishary94 (talk) 12:47, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
- You're very close to being blocked. The fact that you recreated the article a third time is enough. Removing a speedy tag on an article you created is against policy. You can't keep acting like Wikipedia policies don't apply to you. If you want to create a fork for the main article, then you should propose this on the article Talk page and gain a consensus from other editors to do so. Your unilateral creation is clearly being challenged by multiple editors. As I write this, the article has been deleted by yet another administrator. Do not recreate it.--Bbb23 (talk) 12:54, 20 August 2021 (UTC)

editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Getafe CF in European football. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Getafe CF. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Getafe CF. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.
If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. noq (talk) 17:15, 18 August 2021 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Getafe CF in European football
editHello Mishary94,
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username John B123, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Getafe CF in European football, for deletion, because there's already a page about that topic at Getafe CF. Please don't be discouraged; we appreciate your effort in creating new articles. To avoid this in the future, consider using the search function to find pages that already cover what you want to write about.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.
For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|John B123}}
. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~

R: El Clasico
editWell, yes, as always with those matches played deceades ago. It depends on the source. Diario La Vanguardia, page 16, 20 september 1949 says it's Pahiño. Real Madrid official page also count this goal on his toally goals (up to 125 with the club, without that goal the ammount would be 124, which is incorrect).
So we have La Vanguardia, Historic Spanish Football Data Base and Real Madrid saying its a legitimate goal, and on the other hand other sources saying it wasn't his goal, but wiki:en has it very clear it wasn't his goal. How come? Then, how clarify it? Not sure how things work here, excuse me. --Brgesto (talk) 18:18, 23 October 2021 (UTC)

You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 18:38, 21 September 2022 (UTC)

editYour recent editing history at FIFA World Cup records and statistics shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
You seem to have reverted the page 4 times in post 24 hours Spike 'em (talk) 00:18, 14 December 2022 (UTC)

Alright, so let me get this straight: is Jaber still alive or not? I'm quite confused; Arab News states Mubarak Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah died, is he Jaber's son? Or did the news reports state Jaber's name incorrectly? Tails Wx 00:57, 14 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Tails Wx: The person who died is the son of the former prime minister and his name is Mubarak (born in 1977), while Jaber himself is still alive. --Mishary94 (talk) 01:03, 14 April 2023 (UTC)
- The name of the former prime minister is Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah (born 1942)
- The name of his son is Mubarak Al-Jaber Al-Sabah (born 1977)
-- Mishary94 (talk) 01:22, 14 April 2023 (UTC)
- Do you have any sources for the son being the one, Arabic is fine. I dont doubt you, this is just a bit embarrassing as it almost went up on the front page. nableezy - 03:37, 14 April 2023 (UTC)

AlHilal's Sixtuple trophies road
editHello, can you please explain why did refuse and delete my contribution? AlHilal did earn an incomplete sixtuple on the 1999-2000 season, there is no reason to delete their achievement since they have seven (eight if you count the GCC tournament ) for that season all of the competitions i listed are officially recognized and they needed either the world cup to complete the sixtuple of the saudi pro league from my understanding, to further prove that, in the seven trophies section on the same page it was explained that Celtic were almost able to do it, by the same standard that were provided by me to alhilal, awaiting your response AlWaleed Al8adry (talk) 19:39, 17 April 2023 (UTC)
- @AlWaleed Al8adry: Hello, in the 2000 Al-Hilal season, they won only four out of six titles that fall within the concept of the sextuple (domestic league, cup championship, AFC Champions League, local super, continental super, club world cup), he must achieve five out of six until we say that they almost achieved the sextuple. --Mishary94 (talk) 01:10, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Mishary, the thing is, they dont specificaly need a league title to be eligible on the list, here is a copied article from the same page about the English clubs season trophies,
- " Technically it is possible to win seven trophies; for example, a top-flight English club can win the Premier League, the FA Cup, the EFL Cup, the FA Community Shield, the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup in a calendar year. "
- by that standard that means they can get indeed six trophies in a season without getting the premier league, alHilal did the same and got five titles minus the club world cup if they wanted to get the sixtuple AlWaleed Al8adry (talk) 10:05, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
- @AlWaleed Al8adry: Seven titles means adding a new title to the six main titles, and it does not mean that it is part of the sextuple, especially such as a major title, which is the league. --Mishary94 (talk) 00:33, 19 April 2023 (UTC)
- you are referring to the European system of sixtuple, in other continents there is no specific limit of trophies and plus the championships are different to begin with compared to European trophies and its systems, there is no "fixed" system about it, i think Al Hilal deserves to be on the list according to these details since they got three domestic trophies, two continental trophies and minus a World cup trophy all in one season/continues season. - Lost against Partizan on 18 April 2017 in the Championship round (where the league system qualifies the top eight qualify to a separate Championship round) you can check here. I will retrieve your last edit, because the source was last May, four months ago, as the team won six home matches since then, so it is unreasonable for me to add a source after every match in which Red Star wins at home. It is likely that news and official websites will publish the statistic after the record is broken after 5 matches (then Real Madrid's record will be broken by 121 matches). Thank you. --Mishary94 (talk) 21:42, 18 September 2023 (UTC)

Women
editRe. Talk:List_of_footballers_who_achieved_hat-trick_records#Women_2:
I am genuine about discussing understanding everyday sexism, by the way. Just because I think your editing behaviour (reinstating contentious material and not discussing) is in bad faith, does not mean that I think your content changes are.
If you think you are doing right, then I would be happy to help encourage an understanding of why it is never right to make changes based on a belief that "men are more popular so women must be othered".
I know you know that there isn't any good reason to distinguish men and women at the article in question (at least, I hope, as you have never disputed that, only tried to talk around it); that you feel the need to do so despite this, is something we can talk about.
How people experience the culture around football can be an incredibly sexist world, so I am not saying I think you are sexist either, but that there can be a norm around football that privileges male dominance, and your edits are reflecting that. Wikipedia, on the other hand, is actively trying to combat such male dominance - including projects like WP:Women in Red, if you would rather go there for open discussion. Kingsif (talk) 00:50, 7 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Kingsif: The point is, there is no sexism, you just see this matter from your angle. What I am trying to explain to you is that football is more famous for men than women, and this is a fact and a reality that we cannot falsify, and it is not male dominance or bias against women. If you asked all people about the most famous football player, Alex Morgan, for example, 20 million people would know her. However, if you ask everyone about the most famous football player, Cristiano Ronaldo, for example, two billion people will know him. This is simple, and there are many other areas in which women outperform men in terms of popularity, and this does not mean at all feminist dominance or bias against men. This is simply what it is.
- In any case, I will be happy to discuss and enrich with you about this topic, although I do not see myself as an opponent in the debate, because I am not a party to it, and I am not against women in general. --Mishary94 (talk) 02:08, 7 February 2024 (UTC)
- Your reply here shows that you really do need to have a lot of reflection. A lot. You also need to read a lot better. A lot. Because you are claiming I said things I never did, and in turn showing a lot more prejudice in trying to refute those things. This is friendly advice, you're digging yourself into a hole and not contributing to discussing the topic at hand.
- It is also inappropriate for you to just make up stats (have you surveyed the entire global population on their knowledge of footballers?) for an argument. I do expect that if you asked football fans about different players, then more men's footballers would be recognised than women's footballers, but you cannot just make things up.
- Now, nobody is denying that men's football is more popular than women's football around the world, and nobody said that this means football itself is biased against women (although FIFA might be, but that's another subject).
- I said that men's football being more popular should not be a reason to make edits which either explicitly or implicitly diminishes women's football. Separating them does not always do this, but context must be appreciated.
- And I said that football media often privileges men's football, because of the greater popularity, and that this has a tendency to make people see men's football as the priority. And I said that I think this has impacted your editing, which your reply here further makes me believe. You seem to think it is some inherent truth that because men's football is more popular, women's football matters less. That is not true. And it is sexist. In aspects where men's football and women's football do not differ - like, scoring against appropriate opposition - there is no reason not to treat them equally.
- As for your last line: do not patronise me. If you are meaning what you wrote and it is not some maltranslation, telling me that
[you] will be happy to ... enrich [me] about this topic
is incredibly demeaning. I am adding this in an edit to give you an opportunity to explain what you meant with this. Kingsif (talk) 02:33, 7 February 2024 (UTC)- @Kingsif: I do not mean to belittle you. By enrichment, I mean that we exchange information and debate. - I think it was the phrasing, it is very close to "I'll be happy to enlighten you"/"let me enlighten you" which is often a sarcastic way of saying "you're an idiot" or, when used literally, is done by someone who thinks their interlocutor has zero knowledge of the topic. For some more friendly advice, I can see you are not concerned with your command of English, but I would still stick to what words you know. Looking for a fancier word than "debate" has caused you to make this slip. You told me earlier that you did not think it valuable to debate with me because I support women, which is also, like, an awful thing to say. I hope I can assume that, like many foreign language speakers, your ability to read English is good? If so, there should be no issue with you editing English Wikipedia.
- In any case, I am glad I AGF (just say debate man!) - I have opened discussion at WP:Football for more eyes. There is a discussion section for free thought. I haven't made it a formal RfC, so hopefully we can proceed from that without need for RfC and a survey. And yes, BTW, I support women. It's kind of a given over here; Wikipedia supports women, too. That does not mean putting them first, but it means being inclusive unless there is a reason not to. I try to remember that within my everyday editing, and I would encourage everyone to do the same. Kingsif (talk) 04:27, 7 February 2024 (UTC)

- In any case, I will be happy to discuss and enrich with you about this topic, although I do not see myself as an opponent in the debate, because I am not a party to it, and I am not against women in general. --Mishary94 (talk) 02:08, 7 February 2024 (UTC)
Moving of Mutaz Essa Barshim
editHello, on 5 February, you moved Mutaz Essa Barshim to Mutaz Barsham with the edit summary “Right name”. I was just wondering—where did you get this information? His World Athletics Profile is still listed as Mutaz Essa Barshim and his website, [1], has his name as Mutaz Barshim. (Also, you changed this link to link to a website that doesn’t exist, [2]. You also changed several references, breaking the article links and altering the titles to Barsham, which are not the correct titles.)
- The Dessert Rat (talk) 05:24, 27 February 2024 (UTC)
- @The Dessert Rat: Hi, the correct pronunciation according to the Arabic language is Barsham, not Barshim. In Arabic, Barsham is pronounced (بَرشَم), while Barshim is pronounced (بَرشِم). According to our Arabic pronunciation, the pronunciation is wrong. Perhaps his profile in the World Athletics was not accurate according to his pronunciation in the Arabic language. See To the article by his brother, Qatar national football team goalkeeper, Meshaal Barsham, where the pronunciation was written in the correct way. --Mishary94 (talk) 08:08, 27 February 2024 (UTC)
- Hello, thank you for responding in such a timely manner. I, on the other hand, did not. I apologize for this.
- I understand what you are saying, but in this case, why are both his Instagram account and his own website spelled Barshim? Is he misspelling (or mispronouncing) his own name?

Player with more official titles
editI've been searching about Gibraltar League. It's a nearly amateur league. It's still changing rules, teams, etc to adapt to Europe standards. But let's say that Casciaro titles are official. This is are not top titles. There's no way you can put them along with titles won by Messi, Dani Alves, Iniesta, Benzema, Cristiano, etc. Gibraltar league is no where near Spanish B League, or even German C league. So let's find a category to agree so we can put the player who won most top competitive titles, as mayor leagues, mayor cups, etc. Another example is Ángel Romano from Uruguay. He won 50 titles. But in his time, football was amateur. There's no way you can compare. If you put a record category, there must be the same way to judge contendants. That's why if you seach "most title winners" you will find thousands of articles about Messi, Alves, Iniesta, Maxwell, Cristiano, Kroos, etc, and none about Casciaro. Grasshopper v Red Star
editEven RSSSF (the most respected football history site there is) says it was a penalty. Can you find any published sources that say it wasn't? A youtube video isn't really valid per WP:PRIMARY. – PeeJay 19:56, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
- @PeeJay: Hello, yes, it is true that RSSSF and the UEFA website mention that it is a penalty kick, and at the same time they mention that Xabi Alonso’s goal in the 2005 final is not a penalty kick, even though the two goals are completely identical, as they were both scored after the goalkeeper saved the ball. The question is, if these sites are contradictory, should Wikipedia be contradictory? --Mishary94 (talk) 00:24, 7 April 2024 (UTC)

Tschammerpokal and Qualification
editFirst of all, thank you for your contributions and sources, in European records. Unfortunately, the RSSSF source was very confusing for Ernst Willimowski (https://www.rsssf.org/players/pwillimowskidata.html#1941)
FYI: The mode for the de:Tschammerpokal (DFB-Pokal 1935-1943) is also explained a little better in the German Wiki, if you are interested.
Here are some sources of useful information. Unfortunately, there is no separate Wiki article for the Gau Saxony, regarding the regional qualification, but here you can find all qualification rounds for 1941: German Cup 1941, in which the representatives of the several districts in a Reichsgau has been decided for the next Tschammperpokal. The qualification games (from 20/04/1941 to 26/06/1941) are marked as "Amistoso" or "---------- in the previous source https://docs.ufpr.br/~mmsabino/sstatistics/willimowski.html.
At the same time, not every "amistoso" marked game between this period is a qualification game.
- de:Tschammerpokal 1941 / Gau Mitte -> example for the qualification format in Gau Mitte 1941.
- de:Tschammerpokal 1941
- worldfootball.net - Tschammerpokal Topscores 1941
- worldfootball.net - DFB-Pokal Topscores by Season from 1935
- DFB.de - 1940-41 Matches
- https://fussballarchiv.de.tl/Tschammerpokal.htm#1941 --> showing the qualified representatives of the Gau groups
- DFB.de - FactFile -> mentioning most goals in one season: Willimowski's with 14 goals as topscorer 1942/43
Top goalscorers: Gerd Müller is the record goalscorer in the DFB Cup, with a total of 78 goals for Bayern Munich. The most goals in one season came from Ernst Willimowski (1860 Munich, 1942/1943) and Dieter Müller (FC Köln, 1976/1977) (both 14).
Miria~01 (talk) 19:10, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, @Miria~01: thank you for this wonderful narration and clear sources. It seems that the sources that relied on Willimowski scoring one goal relied on that based on their disregard for the regional qualifying rounds. In my opinion, if the regional rounds are ultimately affiliated with a local championship, then we We have to take it into account, like Dresdner SC 26-win streak with 21 of those wins coming in a regional league. I also believe that goals in the qualifying rounds in European competitions should be counted in the players’ goals, because there are still official continental matches. I hope we can open up a discussion so that we can eventually reach a consistent standard for what goals and records are taken into account. --Mishary94 (talk) 22:50, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
- Actually, the WIki article handles it exactly the same as the IFFHS all-time ranking for club goal-scorers, May 13, 2024. All top division level goals count (see
OL = other relevant leagues (top divisions of regional leagues, war-time leagues etc.)
), but not any qualifying rounds for the DFB-Pokal that were more amateur and friendly in nature.- National League (top-division)
The regional league goals are also counted in the wiki-article, because they represent the top division level in the league to that time. The wiki-article and the legend also speak of the top division level, so there is no problem with Dresdner SC.The list refers to goals in all national club competitions (top division),...
You could add a note on their unbeaten run of 28 games, but in my opinion it's not a must:
18x 1942-43 Gauliga Sachsen, 5x 1943 German Championship, 5x 1943-44 Gauliga Sachsen. - 'National Cup (qualification)
However, the DFB does not see the qualifying events as official games for the Tschammer- / DFB-Pokal. With the Verbandspokal, they have even represented a separate cup competition since 1945, which is not organized by the DFB, but by the regional associations.A Verbandspokal (English: Association Cup) is a regional men's association football competition in Germany. There are 21 Verbandspokal competitions which function as qualifying tournaments for the following season's DFB-Pokal, the premier German Cup competition.Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga clubs are not permitted to enter as they are already directly qualified for the first round of the DFB-Pokal.
- European Comp.
I have no problem to include qualification goals in the UEFA competitions, but I would still separate goals in qualifying from the actual competition (as well as many sources do): e.g. Henrik Larsson (Sweden) 53 goals = (35) NL, (9) NC, (5) LC (3) UEL, (1) UEL Qual.
- National League (top-division)
- PS:
- IFFHS - All-time club longest winning series
- The same applies to the winning streak of Dresdner SC. The regional top division league is counted, but not the qualification events for the German Cup... otherwise it wouldn't just be the three games (see IFFHS source) in the 1943 Tschammerpokal in August 1943, but more. About Castilla graduates and source about players' apps
editHi there, I really appreaciate your mad work for rewritng on this entire page. But I do have confusion about why Vinicius Tobias is listed as Castilla graduate since he was never an academy player (unless it was meant for players who were listed and still playing in Castilla, even for loaned players). Also may I know where you get the link for all of players who were playing for Real Madrid? I'm really curious since it would be fascinating. Oh yeah, I do think it's better to make the list using the old format where the top of the list would be the earliest players who play for the team (to make it more simple and easier to edit). One last thing, I think it's better to put players such as Brahim Díaz and Nico Paz started their career to the first team squad based on the first time they make their debut (2019 for Brahim even though he was officially a Madrid player on 2018 and 2023 for Nico Paz). Oozora Subaru (talk) 21:43, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Oozora Subaru: Hello, thank you for your comment. Graduates of Real Madrid Academy mean that the player played for Real Madrid after coming up from Real Madrid Castilla, regardless of whether they were on loan or not. This applies to Vinicius Tobias, who played as a loanee for Real Madrid Castilla and played for the first team as a graduate. Those who do not fall under the category of Real Madrid Academy graduates are those who were transferred or loaned directly from another club to Real Madrid.
- Regarding the Real Madrid list, I relied on many sources, including the official website, but the main reliance was on BDFutbol. As for the calendar years and sporting seasons, I considered listing the calendar years for the first and last match, but it would be too burdensome for me to verify the dates of the first and last matches for over 770 players. Therefore, I simplified it and made the primary consideration the sporting seasons (for example, note that Ángel Di María left in August 2014, but I listed 2015 because he played the first match against Atlético Madrid in the 2014 Supercopa de España, which falls under the 2014–15 season, The same applies to many players, such as Mesut Özil and Xabi Alonso). In addition to those who played all their matches in a single calendar year, we will have to list only one year instead of a full season, and this will compromise this column in the list.
- Regarding the order of the players in the list, I thought about arranging them based on chronological order, but that would place lesser-known players at the top of the list who did not have a significant impact on the club's history. Therefore, I ordered them based on the number of matches, so that the top of the list features the most prominent players who played the most matches. However, readers can sort the players as they wish (by seniority, nationality, goals scored, or captaincy) by clicking the arrow in any column they prefer." Mishary94 (talk) 02:49, 17 August 2024 (UTC)
- Hmm... I do think it's better to make two new pages that dedicated for players who only or still having 1-24 and 25-99 apps just like in Liverpool and Manchester United players lists to make things not complicated. Also those two pages using chronological order by putting the lesser-known players (even from the 1890s) at the top of the list even though no one on today's world know who those players were. Also may be we can also make a separate list of the captains (just like from the old one) on the main page. Oozora Subaru (talk) 08:33, 17 August 2024 (UTC)
- I do not support dividing the list. Formally, it would look better if it were in a single list. To know the player's position, it requires knowing the number of matches, which can be found if you click on the arrow in the years column and go to their period with the club. Then, you will find the number of matches. However, if you insist, I don't mind, but I prefer it to remain in its current state and in a single list so that the reader can divide all the players as they prefer. Mishary94 (talk) 08:55, 17 August 2024 (UTC)
- Understandable. Anyway I have an unrelated question. So during the last season campaign of UCL which Real Madrid won it. The team registered several academy (Castilla and Juvenil) players. I just found out that the rule from UEFA said that academy players who were registered but never play a single minute (including 3rd or 4th GK) can be considered to win it, same as the main squad. Someone did reverted my edits on those academy players' (in honours section) page but I restore them all. Do you think I should remove them all? Oozora Subaru (talk) 21:08, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Oozora Subaru: I think it depends on Wikipedia's criteria. I think a player is counted as a title winner if they are registered or called up to the squad, regardless of whether they played (as happened with Isco in the 2021-22 UEFA Champions League, where he didn’t play in any match). In fact, sometimes a player may be considered a title winner even if they were not called up or registered, just by having a photo of them holding the medal (as happened with Modric in the 2014 FIFA Club World Cup). Otherwise, the player cannot be considered a title winner (like Messi with the 2005 Spanish Super Cup or Benzema with the 2020 Spanish Super Cup). Therefore, I believe your inclusion of the players as title winners is correct. Mishary94 (talk) 01:26, 19 August 2024 (UTC)
- That's the thing. It's kinda weird to see some of the domestic tournament or Super Cup let it slip but not for UCL in Wikipedia. Oozora Subaru (talk) 02:01, 19 August 2024 (UTC)
- Correct, there have been many discussions on this topic. See here and here, for example. The final conclusion can be summarized as follows: a player is considered a title winner if they are registered with the team or if there is a photo of them holding the medal. Mishary94 (talk) 02:22, 19 August 2024 (UTC)

Non-free use in list articles
editThank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload files. However, it appears that one or more of the files you have uploaded or added to a page, specifically List of Real Madrid CF players, may fail our non-free policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted file of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free criteria. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:44, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
- Non-free files like File:Sabino Barinaga.jpg and File:Juanito Gomez.webp are pretty much never allowed to be used to illustrate individual entries in stand-alone list articles, lists embedded into other articles or in tables as explained in WP:NFLISTS; so, I've removed those two files from that article for that reason. I've added the photo of Barinaga to Sabino Barinaga since there seems to be a reasonable justification for that file in that particular article, but there's another file (a freely licensed) being used in the main infobox of Juanito (footballer, born 1954), which makes using a non-free one rather hard to justify per WP:FREER. The file being used in the Juanito article, however, has some licensing issues and may not be able to be kept. If it's deleted, the Juanito photo you uploaded could probably be used to replace it. If the Juanito photo you uploaded ends up deleted before the other file's licesning issues can be resolved, please don't re-upload it. A deleted file is not gone forever (it's only hidden from public view) and it can be restored if it turns out that the other Juanito image needs to be deleted. -- 05:54, 4 September 2024 (UTC)

editHello, thanks for your contribution in Header (association football) but do you have a reference? Does Hugo Sanchez have more than 100 header goals? Thanks! Juanan412 (talk) 23:22, 6 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hello, @Juanan412: there are many sports researchers who have studied this topic and compiled a list of players who scored 80 goals with headers. Check here. According to the list, Hugo Sánchez did not reach 81 goals. --Mishary94 (talk) 23:44, 6 September 2024 (UTC)

Invitation to participate in a research
editHello,
The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.
You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.
The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .
Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.
Kind Regards,

European association football club records and statistics
editHello.
The number 140 that you keep returning to 137 is correct. Please don't do it again. The real statistic is 140 (see the page that is in the section - 189)

- @Pluton Real: Thank you, I’ve been keeping track of the team’s results and updating the matches as they happen. I don’t know how this came to be. Anyway, I’ll rely on the source from now on. Note: Red Star is currently playing a home game in the league and is leading 5-0 in the 82nd minute. I’ll update the number to 141. --Mishary94 (talk) 17:44, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
- Exactly - it's already 141 (Red Star beat today 6:0).
- Have a nice evening! Pluton Real (talk) 18:22, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
