Re: What gives?

I've been signed up for a few weeks now but I still can't move/rename/retitle any articles. How come? Mad Man American (talk) 17:37, 5 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

You now also have to have edited 10 times before being able to move pages. I know, it's silly... blame the administrators who decided it was a good idea. Gurch (talk) 16:40, 7 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Requests for assessment

edit

Hello, why are you nominating all those articles you haven't worked on for other editors to assess at Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Assessment/Requests? If you haven't worked on the articles you can assess them yourself. Nick-D (talk) 10:32, 9 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Can you please stop nominating articles you haven't worked on for assessment? I'd be happy to give you some pointers if you'd like to assess them yourself. Cheers, Nick-D (talk) 10:54, 16 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I've just removed the long list of articles you requested assessments for here. That page is really intended as a quick way for editors to receive an assessment of an article they've improved. As you don't appear to have worked on any of those articles, it would be best if you just reviewed them yourself - the instructions for this is at Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Assessment/B-Class FAQ Nick-D (talk) 23:06, 2 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Articles for Creation Appeal

edit
Articles for Creation is backlogged and needs YOUR help!

Articles for Creation is desperately in need of reviewers! We are looking for urgent help, from experienced editors and administrators alike, to help us clear a record backlog of pending submissions. There is currently a significant backlog of 1881 submissions waiting to be reviewed. These submissions are generally from new editors who have never edited Wikipedia before. A prompt, constructive review of submissions could significantly editor retention.

Do you have what it takes?
  1. Are you familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines?
  2. Do you know what Wikipedia is and is not?
  3. Do you have a working knowledge of the Manual of Style, particularly article naming conventions?
  4. Are you (at least) autoconfirmed?
  5. Can you review submissions based on their individual merits?

If the answer to these questions is yes, then please read the reviewing instructions and donate a little of your time to helping tackle the backlog.

Click here to review to a random submissionArticle selected by erwin85's random article script on toolserver.

We would greatly appreciate your help. Currently, only a small handful of users are reviewing articles. Any help, even if it's just 1 or 2 reviews, would be extremely beneficial.

Request reason:

I am not a sockpuppet of Wild Wolf. From what I understand from Wikipedia policy, I can only be blocked for doing something wrong, such as repeatedly vandalism articles. Since I have not done so, then I can continue editing. Mad Man American (talk) 22:06, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

No, you cannot. First, there are only very limited exceptions to the "one person, one account" rule, and block evasion is not one of them - it is, in fact, "doing something wrong", as there is clear and obvious evidence that you are, in fact, Wild Wolf - "I am not a sock" is not going to cut it here.. In addition, this account has supported Wild Wolf on multiple occasions in the past in discussions - using sockpuppets to vote-stack is decidedly "doing something wrong". In short: this account is going to remain blocked, you need to take to heart why your behavior was wrong and got you blocked, you need to take the WP:STANDARDOFFER, and then you need to request an unblock at your original account. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Since a Checkuser has stated that there is technical evidence linking this account with Wild Wolf, you're going to need to explain what your connection with that account is, as we block gimmick accounts of blocked users on sight. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 00:26, 22 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
The fact that I supported Wild Wolf is not proof that I am a sockpuppet of him, it merely means that I agreed with him. Also, I don't see how asking for an unblock on Wild Wolf's account will get my account unblocked. Unless you can show how my edits constitute vandalism, then I should probably continue editing Wikipedia. Mad Man American (talk) 14:23, 23 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
The overwhelming evidence is that you and WW are the same person. "I am not a sock" - again - is not sufficient for you to be unblocked. Vandalism is not the only reason you can be blocked - it's extremely obvious that this is block evasion. "The fact you supported" is not proof - because it is not needed as proof. What it is is evidence that not only is there sockpuppetry here, but that the sockpuppetry is being used for votestacking, an even worse thing. TL;DR - unless you can provide a very convincing explanation as to how you and WW are not the same person, you're going to stay blocked. - The Bushranger One ping only 00:28, 24 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
