Articles for deletion nomination of The Theory of Sailing

edit

I have nominated The Theory of Sailing, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Theory of Sailing. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Tim Song (talk) 03:09, 3 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with The Theory of Sailing. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 06:07, 3 August 2009 (UTC) I don't think it's a CSD tag. It's AfD. Tim Song (talk) 06:11, 3 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia is not a place for original research. See WP:OR for details. Nor is it a manual, a how-to guide, etc. See WP:NOTMANUAL. The article is full of original research and you did not cite a single source. Review additionally WP:NOT, WP:N, WP:V, WP:RS and WP:1ST. Tim Song (talk) 06:10, 3 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with The Theory of Sailing. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. Thanks for your contributions. Wikipedia takes some getting used to, but if you're interested in working on articles stick with it. The key is to use reliable sources and to include citations so material can be verified. ChildofMidnight (talk) 18:13, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Nice extra ref. If you go back to the article you can see a more formal way of citing things than the way you did. Takes a bit of getting used to, but I know you will :)

Have a look at {{cite web}} as a good example. Looks scary but you'll soon get to grips with it. Fiddle Faddle (talk) 14:28, 16 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
