Reporting Attack Pages

edit

Hi. I just deleted a couple of pages that you very correctly reported as attack pages. It's just a note, but with clear cut attack pages you can also blank them at the same time, replcing the text with a db-attack template and adding "Page blanked per WP:BLP" or similar. It's not essential, but it stops the attack being overtly visible. Anyhow, it's just a hint. Thanks very much for your hard work keeping Wikipedia clean of this kind of thing - and if you ever need any help please feel free to ask! Cheers! Pedro :  Chat  09:30, 21 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sept 2009

Re Charles and James Steuart, articles marked for speedy deletion: I think you are being a bit hasty - both Charles and James Steuart are of note in that, as members of a planter family in Maryland before and during the Revolutionary war, their loyalties were divided beteen The Crown and to the fledgling United States. The American Revolution may in part be seen as a kind of Civil War, in many ways a fratricidal one in which families were divided. Charles Steuart shows this very well; he himself was a Tory and yet joined the flying camp militia, and was on social terms with George Washington. So he helps to illustrate the very grey nature of loyalties during the Revolutionary War and is therefore part of an important historical context. As for the book it is taken from, Nelker includes a great deal of historically noteworthy primary source material. I hope to be able to find secondary sources in due course. - Alex Williams —Preceding unsigned comment added by Asteuartw (talkcontribs) 07:46, 8 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion contested: Surveyor-Hunveyor Mathematica demonstrations

edit

Hello Leoniceno, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I contested the speedy deletion of Surveyor-Hunveyor Mathematica demonstrations - a page you tagged - because: A1 applies only to _very_ short articles and context is clear enough. PROD or AfD instead. Please review the criteria for speedy deletion before tagging further pages. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. "Viscount Severn"

edit

I agree with you a hundred percent! Please see the section I added on the “Viscount Severn” Talk Page right under yours on notability. You are a Newpage Patroller whereas I just edit every now and then. I have no idea how one gets an article deleted, but in this case I would like to start the effort and would appreciate your assistance as you apparently agree with me. This page is an insult to all serious Wikipedians!HistoryBuff14 (talk) 16:29, 11 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of The Times-Sentinel

edit

Hello, Leoniceno. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, The Times-Sentinel, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. ubiquity (talk) 20:45, 16 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

New deal for page patrollers

edit

Hi Leoniceno,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:28, 13 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
