Hi
editI know we haven't spoken, but I have a request. I noticed some of IP number userpages also redirect to My home page. Since I do travel, I've used public access PCs. Since those number can be used by anyone, they shouldn't be directed to My user page (and it would be a ridiculous idea for Me to have five broadband connections). I don't recommend blocking, unless they're used to mess up pages. I just don't want to be blamed for wrongdoing by those numbers. -- Eddie 05:26, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
Thanks
editI appreciate the endorsement as a "fantastic editor." I try my best to do good work when I can, glad it doesn't go unnoticed. I don't typically have any Wiki-related issues, as I try to fly under the radar, but you never know... I love how the WP:NH is growing with contributers, I am too pleased with our progress. Hopefully we can land a featured article one of these days, maybe the Nashua one will finally make it! Assawyer 08:12, 23 December 2005 (UTC)

RfAr against Freestylefrappe
editI've filed at RfAr regarding Freestylefrappe here: Wikipedia:Requests_for_arbitration#Freestylefrappe. -- SCZenz 17:38, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'll take the lead on this one. I just listed you because it's undeniable you were earlier involved. -- SCZenz 17:43, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
Just FYI in regards to this RfAR, freestylefrappe was involved in an earlier dispute on the Bektashi page. I gave a 3rd opinion as requested by the other participant, attempting to ignore blatant abuse of admin powers so that it wouldn't prejudice my decision about the main issue. (I don't think it did.) Now I see, with no surprise, that FSF is in trouble for abuse of admin powers in other cases. Please review the dispute on Bektashi and its talk page, as well as Aldirma Gonul's user page, to add to the case against FSF. As I see it, FSF didn't assume good faith, called his edits vandalism when it was clearly a good faith attempt to add relevant and accurate information to the article, and threatened to block him as a tactic to win an edit war. Which, by the way, ended in the user giving up on Wikipedia altogether, and leaving (therefore, "don't bite the new users" may also apply here). After I gave my 3rd opinion, it was ignored, and the article remains as FSF demanded, instead of how I ruled it should be, because the other user is gone. Since I am a new user myself, I don't know exactly how these RfARs work, but I would be happy to support it if you give me a link to it. Aumakua 09:09, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
IP redirects to User:EddieSegoura
editI saw your post on User talk:EddieSegoura, and posted the following reply:
- According to Special:Whatlinkshere/User:EddieSegoura: User:68.167.45.99, User:24.105.138.40, User:69.112.54.11, User:198.22.123.103, User:66.114.67.80 all redirect to User:EddieSegoura. These redirects were created by User:NSLE. Why, I don't know.
I also put a message on User talk:NSLE asking why he/she did those redirects --rogerd 20:30, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
I'm glad you decided to be a member. As you are our second admin member could I ask you to watch Wikipedia:WikiProject_Userboxes/Delete_requests. The purpose of this list is that once a userbox has been transfered into the user area, a delete can be requested. We aim to delete redirects at the origional location to help keep the templates area tidy (one of our main aims infact). Ofcource if you don't aggree with this process you do not have to assist in maintaining it, it would however help. Currently, our only other admin member, is the only one who keeps an eye on it (User:FireFox), and he agreed (well, allowed) its creation, however at the moment he seems to hav found himself unable to delete, and that is why your efforts would be especially valuable. Feel free to contact! Ian13ID:540053 20:48, 23 December 2005 (UTC)

Comment on Freestylefrappe's talk page
editYou should be careful about your comments to Freestylefrappe. It doesn't do anyone any good to sound like you're gloating; let him make his decisions, do what you gotta do at the RfAr, but leave it at that. -- SCZenz 05:47, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
- You may be right, but he's not gonna take any friendly advice from you (or me either) at this point. Best thing we can do is let it go. -- SCZenz 06:01, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
- I'm not sure it's still being nice, after a certain point, if you know he won't see it that way. -- SCZenz 06:04, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
Re: From The Admins' Board Nonsense

editHe requested not to be called 'FSF', so can you go through and replace the acronym with his whole name? I know it's long, but it shouldn't be much work with a little find-and-replace. -- SCZenz 23:21, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
- I've been doing the whole thing. If he's complained about one abbreviation, he might complain about another; it's easiest to call him the one thing that's indisputably correct. Thanks. -- SCZenz 23:27, 24 December 2005 (UTC)

1 William vs Tobias 2 Subnational entities
editI think there are two issues
- Williams attacks on Tobias
- Wikipedia:Naming conventions (subnational entities)
Some days ago I filed
From the RfC that you started I see that William goes on to attack me. How can this be handled? It is annoying what he talks all the time about me. Tobias Conradi (Talk) 04:10, 26 December 2005 (UTC)
John Seigenthaler Sr. didn't ignore what was written about him ;-). But well for my point of view no time to hurry. The Naming convention page is protected now and does not contain any _knwown_ misleading factual errors. Tobias Conradi (Talk) 03:18, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
I note that you are involved in the above RfC. Please see my sub page for evidence of the entirety of the dispute and related issues. Zordrac (talk) Wishy Washy Darwikinian Eventualist 12:50, 26 December 2005 (UTC)
- Hi, I notice you have signed Lulu of the Lotus Eater's comment on this rfc. I would be grateful if you could withdraw this endorsement as that user is not a neutral party in this dispute, and makes comments which really were not relevant to the rfc or the evidence which I presented and likely were intended to rubbish me and other people who the user suspected may agree with my summary. I would suggest that the views of User:Jmabel and User:Zordrac are more neutral on this issue. Thanks Arniep 18:17, 26 December 2005 (UTC)

Sorry to keep trying to lean on you with this. But I'm looking for a friendly (but otherwise not involved) admin. Basically, despite a mediation request and some warnings from other parties, User:Fluterst continues to vandalize the Ward Churchill page every once in a while, by reverting to the same old version he likes. His old version reverts a few POV-neutral changes, but mostly introduces this idiocy about "Churchill is the most-hated and disgraced academic" to the lead sentence. There are a few other POV/vandal aspects, but that's the main and worst.
Fluterst is doing his vandalism reversion relatively infrequently, every couple days or so. So I guess that's good that it's not an every five minutes thing. But since I've taken to watching and enhancing that page, it always bugs me terribly when the awful doggerel/slander is the current page for a few hours before I fix it. I'm thinking that a short term block on Fluterst for vandalism might convince him to stop the crap (with escalating periods if repeated). Wanna do that? Lulu of the Lotus-Eaters 18:26, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
P.S. This is utterly unrelated, and I definitely don't want to get you into the mess (mostly dissipated, fortunately, I think). But I saw earlier on this talk page that you had a brief discussion with ArnieP about his RfC on Antidote.
- I think your complaint got Fluterst to redouble his efforts to put in his diatribe: [2]. Lulu of the Lotus-Eaters 03:32, 28 December 2005 (UTC)
There's a funny irony here, I think. ArnieP is convinced that everyone whoever voted against or removed a name from any of those Jewish lists is a sockpuppet for each other. The evidence for it is that a couple IP addresses from Miami did something in the course of the whole mess (I don't know if Antidote is from Miami, but I think ArnieP believes so); but it also included some IP addresses not from Miami in the "sockpuppet list". At the same time, it appears that every single editor who has participated in the "Add as many names as possible to Jewish lists" faction is from London. And, in fact, a bunch of them got blocked as sockpuppets (but reinstated by Dan100). A bunch of the Londoners have claimed to be "friends" with each other. Fellow Londoner User:Zordrac took up this cause, by way largely, of writing vitriolic things about me on every talk page s/he could find (even though I have no knowledge or involvement in the block; apparently just because I am on Poetlister/RachelBrown's "enemies list").
So "Jewish list" moral apparently seems to be that all Miamians are identical/sockpuppets, but all Londoners are innocent acquaintances. I don't have any deeper meaning to draw from that, it's all just silly. But it just strikes me as odd that one city carries some sort of "taint" while the other just means "concerned editor" (as least in the mind of London anti-Antidote folks, whatever their exact number). Lulu of the Lotus-Eaters 18:26, 27 December 2005 (UTC)

editI was wondering if in addition to the links, we might develop a floating reference bar which can be expanded or shrunk and helps to define items on the screen, without switching to another page or window. The bar would have a quick dictionary section, a thumnail illustration section and a thumbnail geographic section. You would move the mouse across the page you were reading, and if you dwell for some user adjustable time interval on a word, the quick dictionary looks it up and the definition text appears in the reference bar/window. If there is a thumbnail illustration or thumbnail map for it, that appears in a temporary pop-up, then disappears. If you want to look up a phrase you just hold down the shift key and move the mouse across more than one word. If you want a deeper lookup as in wikipedia or some other prefered encyclopedia, you would hold down the alt key for the same selection. There are a lot of ways to expand on this idea. What do you think?

About Chocolate
editHowdy Karmafist! Enjoying your break? I just thought I'd drop by (you seem to be under alot of stress these days) and offer you some chocolate and any assistance you may require.
Here is a little about chocolate:
Chocolate (see below for etymology) describes a number of raw and processed products that originate from the tropical cacao tree. It is a common ingredient in many kinds of sweets, chocolate candy, ice creams, cookies, cakes, pies, and desserts. It is one of the most popular flavours in the world.
