Just letting you know that I placed a CSD A7 tag on Huion, because I think it is clearly not notable enough. If you think I am wrong, please let me know on my talk page. WannaBeEditor (talk) 08:03, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for patrolling new pages. However you missed a serious case of WP:COPYVIO at Assassins creed cronicles of india so I must ask you, in view of your high inaccuracy rate of patrolling, to stop patrolling new pages for a while until you have read and fully understood the instructions at WP:NPP and the policies at WP:DELETION. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 04:20, 5 March 2016 (UTC)
- Seriously? I missed something on a page I gave a cursory glance at and left no tags on because it's not a topic I know well & missed a copyvio that I couldn't be expected to know so you want me to stop patrolling? In point of fact my accuracy rate is quite high. JamesG5 (talk) 08:01, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi James, I rewrote the article that you tagged and did my best to conform to the guidelines. Would you please remove the request for deletions and the other tags you placed on it?

Ishaal
Dear James. I agree with the reasons you gave for speedy deletion of my article up to the point that it was mostly copied from the original report or may be it was not encyclopedic in construction as it was my first attempt to write something for Wikipedia but the point that a single report from a group like that would not merit an entire page to itself is not agreed upon. This report actually gives a detail about how the ISIL is equipping itself with a variety of homemade bombs and how are they getting the raw material with such ease. The report also suggests that the intermediaries between seller and buyer is the area we must focus upon. I asked you to help me construct that article in a better way as it was my first attempt but to my dismay you deleted it. Criticizing is easy but helping to shape something is a difficult task. And one more thing, everyone has a different mindset and perception. The things important or comprehend-able to you might not be important to me and vice versa. thanks but no thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by IshaalZehra (talk • contribs) 05:20, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
Re: Recreation of article you just deleted
Re your message: I salted the article, too. The grammatical errors in the article were funny considering the topic. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 07:17, 20 March 2016 (UTC)
- Yeah, I checked the website for copyvio & it's even WORSE. You'd think an education page would try harder, ESOL or otherwise. JamesG5 (talk) 07:18, 20 March 2016 (UTC)

Hello and thanks for notifying me! At best, this could simply be moved to Draftspace again but, considering it's at mainspace currently, PROD is acceptable and I'm now PRODing Emily Trosclair. Re: Probable socks
Re your message: Yes, looks like some sockpuppetry going on. I opened Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Gauravar regarding the accounts. Please add anything I missed, though I know you can't see half of the edits because they have been deleted. I did salt both articles on the clinic. Maybe everybody will disappear when the AfD closes as Delete. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 06:43, 28 March 2016 (UTC)
- Re your message: I blocked the new duck. There's no need to re-open the SPI. I probably should have done the original blocks without the SPI as they were clearly ducks. I salted the article, but I suspect that new ducks and recreated articles under different names will appear. I also blocked the IP address for a week. Perhaps that will slow them down for a bit. When you find new articles and socks, feel free to drop me a note or you can add to the SPI if I happen to disappear for awhile. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 04:28, 31 March 2016 (UTC)
editing john walton
Hi James!
Thanks for the comments about the John Walton page I added. I've added a link to Carl Joe Williams and added a link on Carl's page back to John's since they're both members of the same collective. I'd like to continue working on Carl's page, but just wanted to get it started!

Austin Petersen
I added a source to the page Austin Petersen (politician). Did I successfully remove the deletion tag? Ghoul flesh (talk) 03:31, 9 April 2016 (UTC)Ghoul
- @Ghoul flesh: That's a "yes, but." The source you used doesn't meet WP:RS. You need to cite reliable third party sources, such as newspapers. No blogs, no political websites, etc. JamesG5 (talk) 03:37, 9 April 2016 (UTC)
It wasn't for an article, it is just a page about the website stating that Petersen is the owner and founder. Either way, I am adding his political positions, cited to his official campaign website. Hopefully that will satisfy? Ghoul flesh (talk) 03:40, 9 April 2016 (UTC)Ghoul
- @Ghoul flesh: Nope, those won't be any good either. You should really look at WP:RS for a guide to what's acceptable, but to help out I linked to some sources on your talk page. To be valid, you need 3rd party sources not directly linked to him or his political party. 03:43, 9 April 2016 (UTC)
GENLEC
Hi James. Thanks for the feedback. Should I leave the article in Sandbox until I find more references? Kind regards. acumenwrite —Preceding undated comment added 06:56, 9 April 2016 (UTC)
- @Acumenwrite: That's probably a good idea. Based on what was said about the company, I didn't speedy it but I came close & thought it likely someone else would. Without 3rd party reliable sources to show WP:NOTABILITY it'll likely get tagged again. You can also use the draft space or the Wikipedia:Articles for creation process. AfC might be your best bet, you can get it reviewed for feedback multiple times before submitting it to main space. JamesG5 (talk) 07:02, 9 April 2016 (UTC)

Tiran Island multiple reverts
If an admin is here about the issues with the Tiran Island article, I am aware I stepped all over the 3 revert rule but I believe I was acting within one of the good faith exemptions to protect the page from obvious vandalism by a new account created just for that purpose. I (and 2 other editors) warned that user about disruptive behavior, and I filed a formal request for admin intervention in the issue. Going to bed now, hoping not to wake up blocked. Thanks for warning [1]. Can you deal with him? He just threatened me on the talkpage of Big Mean Ethan Dean. 68.100.116.118 (talk) 05:48, 14 April 2016 (UTC)
- "I hate you" is rude, but not a threat. I'll keep an eye on it & holler for an admin if he gets worse. JamesG5 (talk) 05:54, 14 April 2016 (UTC)
I have deleted the article as promotional, and protected it from re-creation (also as the properly capitalized version RC4WD). On a related note, the article wasn't really a copyright violation; it was a copy and paste from a mirror of a deleted Wikipedia article, the mirror expressly acknowledging that the original article was under the GFDL license. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 05:54, 20 April 2016 (UTC)
- @Mike Rosoft: Yeah, I saw that in your deletion summary, I wasn't sure what the source of that page was. Whole thing looked like a copyvio & that was what showed up on search, but I knew it deserved a speedy for promo regardless. Thanks for salting. JamesG5 (talk) 05:58, 20 April 2016 (UTC)
A1 speedy tag
Thanks for patroling new pages, an essential and under-appreciated task, but I don't think WP:CSD#A1 was the right tag for Kareem Adel just now: that is for "articles lacking sufficient context to identify the subject of the article", and though iut was very short, the subject was clear - this guy Adel. It didn't say anything useful about him, and WP:CSD#A7 would do just fine. This may seem like a nitpick, but choosing the right tag is important so that the hopeful newbie understands what the problem was, and maybe does better next time. Keep up the good work. There is useful advice for speedy taggers at WP:10CSD and WP:A7M. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 08:46, 20 April 2016 (UTC)
- @JohnCD: Thanks. I was really wavering on that one, I almost went with A7 but since it was just a one sentence piece I decided to go A1. Will keep that in mind for next time. JamesG5 (talk) 13:15, 20 April 2016 (UTC)
Michael Joy Senados
According to the talk page its a work in progress (hence why the tag as removed.) Wgolf (talk) 02:36, 21 April 2016 (UTC)
- @Wgolf: It's an autobio that was previously deleted as no significance, I doubt it'll make it this time. But autobio issues aside adding a page and then working on it makes little sense, better, IMO, to cite the policies then point the user to Sandbox or AfC to create a new article. JamesG5 (talk) 02:39, 21 April 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, but as of late I am seeing tons of articles that some people are hasty speeding and soon a admin or someone else will remove that for the fact (which I've been guilty of also) Wgolf (talk) 02:40, 21 April 2016 (UTC)
Re: SPI?
Re your message: As you noticed, I took care of the SPI. I think your report was fine. Since all of the evidence has been deleted and the back links have been blanked by the original account, it is difficult for you to file a full report with details. Since I can review the deleted edits, it is obvious what the connections are. There isn't much more to do with the SPI case, so I closed it. Unless they return with a fourth account. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 06:58, 22 April 2016 (UTC)
Garden Making feedback
JamesG5, thank you so much for your help and your feedback! This is a new medium for me and I obviously need to read up more on the codes etc.
To your point about COI: yes, i am a sporadic freelancer for the magazine. However i work for a number of publications and do not have a proprietary relationship with this one in particular. if i can attribute the info to external sources is there a conflict of interest?
I would also like to add other Canadian magazines to Wikipedia, some I have (or have had) a relationship with and some not.
If it's ok for me to proceed, can you point me in a direction to create successful links? The sources are listed but not linked properly.
I also need to know how to add tags, as well as the box with the cover.
Sorry for being so needy... there's a lot of instructional info to sort through and i'm guessing i just haven't found the right page yet.
thanks again
Heatherwhite09 (talk) 17:37, 23 April 2016 (UTC)Heatherwhite09
- @Heatherwhite09: I would say it's better safe than sorry to post the COI notices, simply to preclude anyone challenging your pages based on it. The main page on cites is WP:CITE but it might be easier to start at WP:REFSTART. Box info is at H:IB. Best place to go for help is the Teahouse. While you're learning, rather than using trial & error and creating an article in the main space that might be challenged you should try the Articles for Creation (AfC) process. You can assemble the article there, then submit it for review & feedback before posting it. I hope this helps! JamesG5 (talk) 04:07, 24 April 2016 (UTC)
@JamesG5 Great, I'll check out the resources you note today. cheers! Heatherwhite09 (talk) 09:56, 24 April 2016 (UTC)heather @JamesG5 I think I have addressed all the points indicated, including noting my COI. I am not authorized to upload a cover of the magazine... can you point me in a direction for that? Thanks again for all your valuable advice Heatherwhite09 (talk) 01:30, 26 April 2016 (UTC)Heatherwhite09
- @Heatherwhite09: Take a look here WP:DCP, here WP:COPYRIGHT, and here WP:IUP. JamesG5 (talk) 01:49, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
- @Heatherwhite09: You need to create a talk page at Garden Making Magazine & post a copy of the COI notice there, too. JamesG5 (talk) 01:51, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
@JamesG5, Thank you. I have posted the COI notice on Garden Making's Talk page as well. I'm going to hold off figuring out how to post a copyright image for the moment. You had said this in your initial notes to me: "The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed." Is it ok to do this now? I rely on Wikipedia for info and do appreciate the need for stringent guidelines! cheers Heatherwhite09 (talk) 13:44, 26 April 2016 (UTC)Heatherwhite09
Imarticus Learning
Hi James, I am trying to right article as per the guidelines. Would you please remove the request for deletions or can you please tell me where I m going wrong — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jasimarticus (talk • contribs) 07:18, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
- @Jasimarticus: There were two issues. When I looked at it, several sections (including the description) were copied word for word from the website's "About" section. See WP:COPYVIO for why that's not OK, you must use your own words. Second, as User:Ultraexactzz noted on your talk page, when you reposted it the writing was still in phrases like "This course prepares you..." which reads like promotion. Articles must be dispassionate descriptions, like "They offer courses in..." with no qualifiers. A good option for you, since you're new here and learning, would be to go to Wikipedia:Articles for creation and create the article there. Editors can read it over & give you feedback on what needs to be fixed before you post it, so you can address any issues. JamesG5 (talk) 16:35, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
- @JamesG5: Thanks James, I took this article from our professional content writers and I havent noticed they have taken same content from about section of the website. Will rewrite the content and will update it 1st of Wikipedia:Articles for creation. Once again thanks for suggestion

Hey JamesG5,
thanks for pointing these issues out. I don't get what you mean with akward grammar, I wrote it myself and it was also checked by people who are fluent or native in English; they didn't have any remarks regarding the grammar. I added more reference links and dismissed the links to the about us page. Regarding the inappropriate links - I didn't know that, thanks for clearyfing. I tried to add additional categories, but their are displayed incorrectly. Can you help me out with this? Multiple
I noticed the multiple template converts the db-band type statement to a numerical format - it works! I've had editors not understand what section of a speedy delete I was using and talk that was wrong e.g. no content deletion means nothing in article - not true, so I clarified in comments. I used multiple because patent nonsense is not correct for an article with "It's u" or similar. Thanks! Cotton2 (talk) 07:46, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
- @Cotton2: Ok. It didn't work here and I'd seen it fail before so I usually just use the 99db-multiple|g11|a7)) style since it always works. Wasn't objecting to the multiple, just noting that the format didn't work, nor did the comments... that seems to work better in the Edit summary. :) JamesG5 (talk) 07:59, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
- Ok, that is what I was referring to, the edit summary. Didn't notice it worked on the tagged page itself. Although I thought I checked. Page gone now, can't check it again. :) Cotton2 (talk) 08:06, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
- @Cotton2: I may be wrong, but looking at Template:Db-multiple it appears I'm right about needing to use the number tags & not being able to put in notes on all criteria. I was talking about you putting the ((|chat like content)) bit in the template rather than the summary. Don't know about it converting. Just trying to help. :) JamesG5 (talk) 08:10, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
- No problems. :) I see now we are talking apples and oranges. I was not using the proper db-multiple template but the multiple| template. So I guess that's why it worked. When my comment didn't show up on the preview, I didn't think to delete that comment, just didn't think it was important at that point. Always learning, thanks! You mentioned a few things to fix and I would love to do so (I am not planning to do any advertising. In fact, it is a school assignment), but it is unclear where can I find your comments!! Can you help please? Thanks! M
Thanks James, your messages are super helpful! I deleted all external links (understood that is what you meant), added third party citations, adjusted the wording. I also added categories, which you can see at the bottom of the page, despite there is an error that there are no categories (?).
Also, I cannot add any visual - i.e. logo in the box like other companies, Acumen, BCG and others. I also cant add any photos. Why is that? I am getting an error. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Milkosia (talk • contribs) 05:43, 28 September 2016 (UTC)

Hi JamesG5 -- I've redeleted the page. It looks like someone else has already fixed Horana. I'm not sure what the best course is with Granthakara Pirivena; I can't read it and non-English material should not generally be deleted without translation, but the translation noticeboard is months behind... If it was founded in 1932 as Kadawedduwe Jinavamsa Mahathera states then it might well be notable. Also, if it's about an educational institute, as suggested on the talk page, it would not be eligible for A7. Espresso Addict (talk) 05:56, 16 November 2016 (UTC)
User group: New Page Reviewr
Hello JamesG5.
Based on the patrols you made of new pages during a qualifying period in 2016, your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed.
New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia, if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria. If you need more help or wish to discuss the process, please join or start a thread at page reviewer talk.
- Be nice to new users - they are often not aware of doing anything wrong.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted - be formal and polite in your approach to them too, even if they are not.
- Don't review a page if you are not sure what to do. Just leave it for another reviewer.
- Remember that quality is quintessential to good patrolling. Take your time to patrol each article, there is no rush. Use the message feature and offer basic advice.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In case of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, the right can be revoked at any time by an administrator. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:34, 19 November 2016 (UTC)
ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!
Hello, JamesG5. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

If each reviewer does only 10 reviews a day over five days, the backlog will be down to zero and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
Let's get that over and done with in time to relax for the holidays.
- Second set of eyes
Not only are New Page Reviewers the guardians of quality of new articles, they are also in a position to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged for deletion and maintenance and that new authors are not being bitten. This is an important feature of your work. Read about it at the new Monitoring the system section in the tutorial.
- Getting the tools we need - 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey: Please vote
With some tweaks to their look, and some additional features, Page Curation and New Pages Feed could easily be the best tools for patrollers and reviewers. We've listed most of what what we need at the 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey. Voting starts on 28 November - please turn out to make our bid the Foundation's top priority. Please help also by improving or commenting on our Wishlist entry at the Community Wishlist Survey. Many other important user suggestions are listed at at Page Curation.

Orr burgel
Just wanted to let you know that I did not deliberately preempt your tag on this article. The history shows we both hit it at the same time. Your edit was using page curation and mine was using Huggle, which sneaked in ahead of yours. I have seen it happen that way a few times but at least once I have seen a tag removed to be replaced by another almost immediately. That was not the case here. Donner60 (talk) 04:14, 28 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Donner60: I saw that & figured what happened, it's cool :) JamesG5 (talk) 07:55, 28 November 2016 (UTC)
I believe that foreign-language duplicates of existing articles are routinely deleted. I can't verify if it's really about the same subject as Ismaïl Mansouri, but judging from Google Translate, the text was rather promotional in nature, so I deleted it anyway. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 08:26, 29 November 2016 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of George w mclaurin
Hello JamesG5,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged George w mclaurin for deletion, because it appears to duplicate an existing Wikipedia article, [[George W. McLaurin]].
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Meatsgains (talk) 04:47, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Meatsgains: I didn't create the page. I did a move & redirect to correct the name capitalization, the page's creator apparently then copied all the text over the redirect. Might want to paste the speedy to him, I'll make a note on the talk page. JamesG5 (talk) 04:53, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Meatsgains: Nevermind, I just reverted it to the redirect. JamesG5 (talk) 04:54, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
- Sorry about the confusion there. Meatsgains (talk) 05:00, 30 November 2016 (UTC)

Undeletion request
Hi James, The page "Angela Predhomme" was deleted, but I'm requesting it be reinstated.
Here are better sources for the page, "Angela Predhomme": http://dancemoms.wikia.com/wiki/Epiphany http://www.mylifetime.com/shows/dance-moms/exclusives/music-guide/season-5 http://www.songoftheyear.com/winners_2015d.htm
I request undeletion as I get the time to learn how to add photos and categories. If you can direct me to a user-friendly how-to resource, that would be great.

I have tried to edit and make changes to the article as suggested. The following changes were done

- Linked other wikipedia articles to the page.
Kindly review and let me know if any other change is required.

Templates
You might mean either [[Template:Uw-advert]] or [[Template:Uw-COI]] I tend to use them together quite often. Deb (talk) 14:39, 15 January 2017 (UTC)
- @Deb: Thanks, I was looking for the COI template, I already have the advert one. Appreciate it! JamesG5 (talk) 17:40, 15 January 2017 (UTC)
Stop touching my page..thank you.
It is really annoying. Guererro (talk) 00:53, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
- @Guererro: It's nothing personal, simply a matter of Wikipedia policies. You're posting unsourced promotion of a non-notable criminal organization, inserting references in to other articles, deleting speedies, etc. Try using the articles for creation process to learn how to do things correctly if you're serious about editing here. Glade Knight: Clarification of Tags
First, thank you for not just deleting my new article Glade Knight, I can appreciate that. Second, I just wanted to make sure I understand what you were saying when you posted on my talk page about the tags. The problems with my article were that
A) I don't maintain a neutral point of view in my writing
B) All of my references are one of the following: (advertising, press releases, autobiographies, or the subject's website)
C) I don't provide enough referencing for the information I have listed there
D) I didn't add it into any categories and
E) I am clearly sharing details that are not needed.
Is this correct, or have i misunderstood? Chief2443 (talk) 04:11, 20 January 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for the input!! I have been working on this so long I have forgotten to work on that section about his family. You are right, that is completely unacceptable. In terms of those references they are actually carefully documented MLA format citations, and that is my bad for not including links there as I did in the notes section. I will be making both those changes promptly. Do you also want me to use the citations more throughout the article? Each reference I have up right now is the responsible agent for the entire block of text before it, which is the only way of citation I have hereby been familiar with. If this is different on wikipedia- please provide me with that guideline page so I can make it how it is expected to be. I will also learn how to add a category, I didn't even know that was a thing before you said something.
- In terms of the controversy, I don't know what you expect me to do about that. There is no material for me to write about! Should an institution decide to make public those transactions and proceedings, that may be a viable way to update the information. However, I have not found any and do not know where to look for any. Also addressing the notability argument, I'm not sure what you expect there. I have been reading through Wikipedia, and all it takes is a few clicks on the random article button to find something published that makes my article look professional and well-researched. See Moechotypa ceylonica. I don't wish to sound like I am contrary to Wikipedia guidelines, but I also do not want to accept that some articles are judged unequally. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chief2443 (talk • contribs) 04:59, 20 January 2017 (UTC)
- I find it incredibly ironic that somehow as a human race we can value a thing for its simple existence and because some guy gave it a latin name but need even more than impressive merit and accomplishment to requisite accolade and 'online encyclopedia' status for an established, honorable, and incredibly successful member of society. It's still hard to believe what's allowed to be on here... but I understand more now. Thank you for your help!!!! I will work on improving this, but it will take time Chief2443 (talk) 06:12, 20 January 2017 (UTC)
From Gary L Puckett
Hi James! Thanks for letting me know you tagged my page for deletion. I totally understand your point, but I just put the page up a couple hours ago, and it's late and I need to get to sleep. I'd just ask to give me a few days to expand the page to include some of the other topics I'm intending on addressing such as: combining elements of musical genres and structures, etc. Thanks, Gary GaryLPuckett (talk) 07:36, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
- @GaryLPuckett: Gary, that really won't help the issue. As the note about the WP:AUTOBIO policy I left on your page indicates, you shouldn't be creating or editing pages about yourself. Moreover, the topics you intend to address don't matter, you have to show that you meet Wikipedia's general notability guideline and that you & your work have received significant third party coverage with reliable sources. Otherwise it's a WP:PROMO and WP:NOTWEBHOST issue. Please don't take this personally, it's not intended as such. JamesG5 (talk) 07:55, 25 January 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Ceiling tee bar

I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Ceiling tee bar, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not an unambiguous copyright infringement, or there is other content to save. Thank you. Primefac (talk) 17:10, 3 February 2017 (UTC)

Organised events
Hi,
What makes you say that sports themselves are organised events? A sport is a type of game. Organised events refers to things like concerts and parties. For example a chess tournament is an organised event, but the game of chess itself is not, no? Adam9007 (talk) 19:48, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
- @Adam9007: No offense Adam, but I've dealt with you before and I know your reputation here. Talking to you is pointless, you have your own vision of Wikipedia. I didn't want to start an edit war with you, which is why I simply endorsed the PROD. Just like speedies you removed I take to AfD where everyone wonders why they weren't speedied. You keep on allowing, or delaying removal of, articles that should be removed, I'll keep on making sure they're removed. JamesG5 (talk) 19:53, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
New Page Review - newsletter No.2
- A HUGE backlog
We now have 812 New Page Reviewers!
Most of us requested the user right at PERM, expressing a wish to be able to do something about the huge backlog, but the chart on the right does not demonstrate any changes to the pre-user-right levels of October.
The backlog is still steadily growing at a rate of 150 a day or 4,650 a month. Only 20 reviews a day by each reviewer over the next few days would bring the backlog down to a managable level and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
It didn't work in time to relax for the Xmas/New Year holidays. Let's see if we can achieve our goal before Easter, otherwise by Thanksgiving it will be closer to 70,000.
- Second set of eyes
Remember that we are the only guardians of quality of new articles, we alone have to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged by non-Reviewer patrollers and that new authors are not being bitten.
- Abuse
This is even more important and extra vigilance is required considering Orangemoody, and
- this very recent case of paid advertising by a Reviewer resulting in a community ban.
- this case in January of paid advertising by a Reviewer, also resulting in a community ban.
- This Reviewer is indefinitely blocked for sockpuppetry.
Coordinator election
Kudpung is stepping down after 6 years as unofficial coordinator of New Page Patrolling/Reviewing. There is enough work for two people and two coords are now required. Details are at NPR Coordinators; nominate someone or nominate yourself. Date for the actual suffrage will be published later.

- @Ethanbas: See this ^^^^? Among MANY other things this is a major reason why you creating multiple half done articles HOPING they will be valid or catch attention is an issue. You tie up time on NPP reviewers, on admins who have to review speedies, in deletion discussions, etc. You tell me to stop being grumpy, I am pleading with you to stop making Wikipedia worse. JamesG5 (talk) 19:44, 5 February 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Articles for Creation
A tag has been placed on Articles for Creation requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Largoplazo (talk) 19:42, 6 February 2017 (UTC)
- @Largoplazo: Thanks, I should've made sure to torch the redirect. JamesG5 (talk) 19:51, 6 February 2017 (UTC)
Re: Copyvio warning after speedy?
Re your message: I don't think an additional warning for the copyvio is necessary. I think a lot of the G11/uw-spamublock blocked accounts are copyvios since they usually copy it from their website. The block should suffice since it usually gets them to stop posting stuff, which is the ultimate point. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 06:24, 10 February 2017 (UTC)

Holoverse Improvements
Hi James, I think I have fixed the Holoverse page based on the things originally listed as concerns by Wiki. Please let me know what you think. Many thanks. Simon — Preceding unsigned comment added by SBanks82 (talk • contribs) 01:04, 3 May 2017 (UTC)
- @SBanks82: it looks a lot better but your references aren't formatted correctly, see WP:REFBEGIN for how to fix those. More to the point you still have very few references, you need multiple third party sources to show significant coverage that demonstrates the topic meets the general notability guideline. Please note I didn't post the deletion template, that was @SwisterTwister: and I wouldn't be comfortable with removing it without his OK. JamesG5 (talk) 01:55, 3 May 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for notifying; SBanks82 perhaps one of two serious concerns that currently exist are (1) the information is not what we consider significant and (2) the one source added is one of the company's own announcements; altogether or alone, it's not what we consider notable. SwisterTwister talk 02:06, 3 May 2017 (UTC)
@ User:JamesG5 and User:SwisterTwister: Hi guys, thanks so much for your feedback. I am going to take a second look at it and improve on both the sources, and the significance of the subject matter. Holoverse is pretty cutting edge stuff and is miles ahead of anyone else in holograms in the world, I just need to find a way of conveying this factually without sounding like an advertisement. If you could leave it there so I can work on it across this week and next, (as I am super busy), it would be appreciated. Many thanks. Simon

Hi, Im not sure why you are accusing me of using multiple accounts. I am not so please do not accuse me of this when you don't have much knowledge of me, and for the so called 'speedies' please stop putting them on my page. It says I have not included the importance and significance and I have. So please Stop.! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikipolop (talk • contribs) 05:37, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
- @Wikipolop: First off, when posting on someone's talk page hit "new section" or edit at the bottom, not the top. I had to root thru my page to find your comment. Second, sign your posts with four tildes ~~~~ so people can see who's talking without looking at their history. I am assuming you're talking about the notice I posted at User talk:Fangofangl. If that's not a sock account I'm curious as to how you found it so fast. Also it seems awfully strange that in the middle of you posting multiple inappropriate articles and repeatedly removing speedies from Mason Zahra that a brand new account would appear and suddenly start doing what you've been warned not to do, especially since immediately after that account was warned you did it again. JamesG5 (talk) 09:51, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
JamesG5 You claim thatI found the account really fast. Thats because you mentioned me in the post and thats how I found the account. It is also not that strange that someone goes to use wikipedia and then is asked to create an account as they don not have one and do not want to be seen as an anonymous user. I am not saying that that is what happened but just suggesting. --Wikipolop (talk) 09:57, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
- @Wikipolop: It is awfully strange that someone would randomly join Wikipedia and the first thing they would do is defend an obviously unsuitable article. Looks like a duck to me JamesG5 (talk) 10:01, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
- @Wikipolop: BTW if you put a : before your reply it indents the reply. JamesG5 (talk) 10:01, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
- @JamesG5: yes it is strange, and i don't want their help, I did talk about the page and people were probably viewing it. --Wikipolop (talk) 10:04, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

Since rolling out the right in November, just 6 months ago, we now have 812 reviewers, but the backlog is still mysteriously growing fast. If every reviewer did just 55 reviews, the 22,000 backlog would be gone, in a flash, schwoop, just like that!

- @Sourav Raj Biswas: Not to be rude, but you clearly don't understand what I'm talking about. As the WP:AUTOBIO and [{WP:NOT]] pages I linked showed, YOU may want to keep the self promotional information about your blog, but it doesn't belong here on Wikipedia. Can you please tell me what goes wrong, as put my page Dubai Cosmetic Surgery under deletion log. Please explain me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kamranayyubdcs (talk • contribs) 06:30, 3 July 2017 (UTC)
- @Kamranayyubdcs: I explained my reasons in the nomination for deletion. Please note that an AfD nomination doesn't mean the page will be removed, other editors & admins will review it and come to a consensus before action is taken. Generally speaking the issue is notability, I didn't see any evidence of the company meeting WP:GNG and your sources did a poor job of establishing that, plus it appeared overly promotional per WP:PROMO. As a side note, when you're posting on the talk page of an article or a user's talk page put four tildes (~~~~) at the end of what you say to create a signature. - @Vlithium: Thanks, that looks 110% better. I removed the PROD since you've addressed the most serious issues, I left some of the tags where it needs more work. Couple of points for future reference, you're lucky I found it & not a lot of new page reviewers, most of us are REALLY quick to pull a "speedy delete" on a page like that instead of a PROD giving you time to address it. Wikipedia is generally not terribly friendly to partial pages being put up in the main space. If you need time to build a page, you should create the page in the user draft space and complete it before you move it to the main section of the site, or better yet if it's a first article consider using the Articles for Creation system where experienced editors can help out. It's a great way to avoid issues. Also, when you post a comment on someone else's talk page (or your own, or the Talk page of an article) make sure at the end of your comment you add four tildes ~~~~ to create a signature. Hope this helps! JamesG5 (talk) 19:56, 4 July 2017 (UTC)

Fanto
Hi James, thank you for your views on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Fanto - as you probably hear a lot, I am very new to all the editing, so its taking me a long time to process all the information (there are lots of strict guidelines and it is important I understand and abide by them all). I have taken each point one by one.
WP:USERNAME - If this would help I can change my email address? Although, I am happy to write a neutral wiki page on Fanto. There are zero call to action on the page and it discusses what external views which support Fanto place in the world. For ease of reference, none of these articles have been paid for and were all independent to Fanto. WP:COI - I do not get paid by Fanto. I am affiliated to Fanto as I was the founder WP:PAID - I do not get paid by Fanto. I am affiliated to Fanto as I was the founder WP:GNG - Determining notability does not necessarily depend on things such as fame, importance, or popularity—although those may enhance the acceptability of a subject that meets the guidelines. All the articles which have pointed to this page have been independent and express a view on how Fanto is changing where it operates. It offers a view on a very popular social hobby. As the views expand more articles can be added to reaffirm the position? WP:PROMO - I worked very hard to make sure this is NOT promotional. I have referenced third party sources and kept it very neutral. It is very similar in nature to another fantasy sports provider - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oulala_Fantasy_Football If this article is deemed to be promotional, doesnt that mean the Oulala article is?
I am happy to work with the moderators to understand how exactly to conform to the strong ethics of Wiki, and I will be fully transparent with all information.
Many thanks

- @JamesPopeFanto: Hi James. First of all your username has nothing to do with your email. If you check out WP:USERNAME there's a section on requesting changes in yours, you should remove the company name entirely. Second, paid or not it's YOUR company so (as someone else noted in comments on your talk page) you MUST declare a conflict of interest both on your User page and the Talk page of the article. As far as GNG, the issue is that there ARE very few articles. It's not a matter of "throw it up now & expand it as it becomes more notable," it's a matter of "if it's not notable enough to have more coverage it doesn't belong here yet." See WP:TOOSOON for more on this. The promo issue is because someone with an undeclared COI posted a favorable article on a business that appears non-notable, so it's hard to see that as anything other than promotional. RE Oulala Fantasy Football see WP:OTHERSTUFF for an explanation as to why that's not a mitigating argument. Finally, please understand that I'm an editor, not an admin. I don't make final determination as to whether or not the page gets removed, nor can I stop it once the AfD process starts. It's in the hands of the others reviewing it now. I did it via AfD in order to seek consensus, since there was some question in my mind, rather than speedy deleting, as has been done in the past. If the consensus is delete I hope you can learn from this to make a better article next time. You might consider using the Articles for Creation system where experienced editors can help out. Also, when you post a comment on someone else's talk page (or your own, or the Talk page of an article) make sure at the end of your comment you add four tildes ~~~~ to create a signature. July 2017
Hello JamesG5. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that there is consensus that we shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1) and/or content (CSD A3) moments after they are created, as you did at Dale Patch. It's usually best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course still be tagged and deleted immediately. 6 minutes is too hasty to be applying A7 tags. WP:NPPNICE suggests 15 minutes as a bare minimum. VQuakr (talk) 03:21, 10 July 2017 (UTC)
- @VQuakr: I realize I didn't give the page that long, but I did my homework first. I devote most of my time to NPP and you'll see my record is solid, including using AfD rather than CSD any time there's a question, working with editors to improve pages where possible, etc. I can tell you, and prove it with links and screen shots of my browser history if you like, that before I A7ed the page I googled the subject AND the page creator's name to verify that this was, in fact, an WP:AUTOBIO and that the person in question has no indication of significance in his life. I generally try to respect WP:NICE but a) this was a blatant case of "no chance" and b) my experience is that if I wait 15 minutes someone else does it first. I promise I am not trying to be capricious or rude, but again if you check my history you'll note I have a sharp focus on COI promotional posts and unwarranted self promotion where the intent is not to drive off editors making a good faith effort but to stop people from abusing Wikipedia. I'll take extra care. :) JamesG5 (talk) 03:28, 10 July 2017 (UTC)
- If "someone else does it first" then it isn't your problem or your mistake. It is more important to avoid biting than to prevent a quickfail autobiography from existing a quarter hour. Kind regards! VQuakr (talk) 03:30, 10 July 2017 (UTC)
- I am not sure it's "biting" to A7 the spam promo autobio of a guy who's spamming multiple websites with self promotion in hope of a job. I can think of almost no cases where waiting 5 or so more minutes would have made a difference in that person becoming a valuable Wikipedian. If he's serious about being here it won't dissuade him, if he's not then... JamesG5 (talk) 03:35, 10 July 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for your help. can you send me an example on how you format that, so i don't make the same mistake. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dbestlook (talk • contribs) 10:08, 10 July 2017 (UTC)
- @Dbestlook: Check out the WP:REFBEGIN link I posted on your Talk page, it walks you thru pretty much all of it. Basically, tho, the ref links goes in the article like this (I am using code so you can see it)<ref>http://www.google.com</ref> but you have to add extra info to fill out the link, that's explained in the referencing article. Then you use the Reflist code and the system automatically makes a list. Also, make sure any time you post on your talk page or someone else's talk page that at the end of your message you put for tildes (~~~~) to create your signature. On the MindGarage page
I am answering it here because I do realize that the page has issues, but I will not be able to fix it so soon =S (I will try making some of the corrections though)
I wanted to read very decently those pages you linked before I could fix this page.
Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vaulttech (talk • contribs) 14:17, 10 July 2017 (UTC)
- @Vaulttech: That's no problem, I also copied the notes to the other individual who's working on the page with you, the one who's listed on the page as having published works for them. The main thing is for you both to properly declare your COI and be aware of those rules going forward in the editing work, everything else can be worked on. One reason for the tag is so that other editors who see the page will be immediately aware of what needs to be fixed so they can pitch in and help. Just as an FYI, if you're commenting on the talk page of an article, on another editor's talk page (like this one) or your own talk page you should put four tildes (like this <no wiki>JamesG5 (talk) 15:23, 10 July 2017 (UTC)</nowiki>) at the end so it creates a signature & time stamp. I'll just leave that there.
Stelian Onufrei page
Hi James thank you for the insight into the objective nature of Wikipedia. I very much appreciate your comments and will back away from editing the page based on the established guidelines you have laid out. That said, I believe that Mr Onufrei's candidacy meets the objective standards for notable personalities and politicians to have a page of their own. Secondary objective source material about Onufrei can be found on editorial sources as varied as the LA Times, the Orange County Register, the Orange County Weekly, the Laguna Beach Independent and Rassmussen Reports. These could be drawn upon by an objective page editor to create an accurate and legitimate wiki page that meets those tests you suggest eliminate Mr. Onufrei as a candidate for inclusion on wikipedia. Questions about Inna Rosputnia Deletion
Hi James! You tagged my page for deletion https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Inna_Rosputnia_(Lady_F)&action=edit&redlink=1
I didn't place any promotion into this article (at least I was not trying to promote). Please, help me to recover page, I need more time to work on it, edit and make it more neutral. All the stated information is real facts and can be confirmed. This person have a lot of referances and interview. I think successful female traders have to be featured on Wikipedia, specially if they are also pholanthropists and work hard to make positive changes in society. Inna Rosputnia is a memeber of Cherie Blair Foundation. she is making significant contributions to women empowerment and granting african students. Such women who was born in a poor contries, became successfull and help others have to featured in Wikipedia. They make contributions to make world better. Please, recover the page and give me time to edit. Will be very greatful for any help and advice. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vanushyn (talk • contribs) 20:16, 3 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Vanushyn: Hi, I didn't delete your page. I only flagged it for an administrator to review, the admin made that decision. If you look at your own talk page talk there are instructions there on what to do about it. JamesG5 (talk) 22:23, 3 August 2017 (UTC)
Removal of Gorp: Goblin Janitor
I'm just curious, how would one get their literary work listed on Wikipedia without being seen as promotional? It seems more like a double standard and like most things in life the same action is only noted with enough people take notice, but author like myself remain obscured forever without a platform from which to show they exist.
Are there good examples you can point me to on Wikipedia that show the proper way to have a fictional novel added so it is not considered promotional? — Preceding unsigned comment added by LordJR (talk • contribs) 19:40, 6 August 2017 (UTC) LordJR (talk) 19:47, 6 August 2017 (UTC)
- @LordJR: Well first off per WP:COI and WP:PROMO you're not supposed to create or edit articles about your own work or projects. If you do engage in such activity, per the COI policies you must disclose your interest on both your page & the page you've created or are editing. The preferred method is, assuming a page has been created, to suggest changes on the talk pages and then let other editors vet and make them. Second, Wikipedia is not here to keep things from being obscured, see WP:NOT. Just because something exists doesn't mean it belongs here. Take a look at the General Notability Guideline and the specific standards for Notability for Books to get a better idea of what qualifies. If your book or series meets those and editors take note, someone's likely to make a page. Otherwise if you do it yourself, especially given the rationale above, it's unlikely to be seen as anything other than promotional. JamesG5 (talk) 21:40, 6 August 2017 (UTC)
Please do not delete
James,
Please do not delete this True North Inc. It is in process and I will continue it through out the week. I just decided to start it tonight. This article is about a company that has been in many newspapers and articles. I promise to make it up to Wikipedia standards.
It is a work in progress! Please do not delete it! AmericanAir88 (talk) 00:53, 8 August 2017 (UTC)
- @AmericanAir88: Deletion is not up to me, I tagged it for administrator review and an admin will make the decision. However, there're multiple issues with that article. First, Wikipedia is generally not terribly friendly to partial pages being put up in the main space. If you need time to build a page, you should create the page in the user draft space and complete it before you move it to the main section of the site, or better yet if it's a first article consider using the Articles for Creation system where experienced editors can help out. However, and FAR more importantly, as reflected in the notes I've left on your user page you're currently not in compliance with the WP:COI and WP:PAID policies, which, in addition to what appears an unremarkable company, makes it look like the article is solely WP:PROMO. Even if it's not deleted you'll need to post the required disclaimers and show to a high standard that the company is notable. JamesG5 (talk) 00:57, 8 August 2017 (UTC)
- I hope you don't mind, but I moved the page to a subpage of AmericanAir88's userpage, so they can continue working on it. SkyWarrior 01:04, 8 August 2017 (UTC)
- @SkyWarrior: that's fine tho generally it would have been moved to draftspace. If he can make it work there it's all good but he has to deal with the issues I outlined. JamesG5 (talk) 01:09, 8 August 2017 (UTC)

Trolleybuses in Prague
Hello, I've added citations to this page Trolleybuses in Prague (which I've planned to do from the beginning but should have done before even publishing this, sorry) but I am not sure what to do about the language. Could you please advise on how to update the text structure so that it is less like an essay? Feel free to update it on your own it you have some ideas.
Thank you very much.
Best regards, Martin
Zubozrout (talk) 19:37, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
@Zubozrout: Hi Martin. You want to avoid informal and essay like language. So for instance in the first sentence "Prague was the first city in Czechoslovakia to introduce trolleybuses as we know them today." the "as we know them today" doesn't fit. A better use might be "Prague was the first city in Czechoslovakia to introduce modern style trolleybuses." In the conclusion "Most of the public as well as people in the public transport company like the idea of trolleybuses as they are clean and efficient way of transport." could be re-written as "Trolleybuses have strong public support based on being both clean and efficient." You want to go with a more neutral academic style of language. BTW when you make a post on a talk page, at the end you want to put for tildes ~~~~ to create a signature. JamesG5 (talk) 19:34, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
@JamesG5: Thank you very much for your guidance. I've went through the article again and updated the suggested sentences. I didn't find any more flaws but if you believe other parts are questionable as well please let me know. Zubozrout (talk) 19:53, 15 October 2017 (UTC)

Avoid operating in material you don't know
JamesG5, please let the people knowing what the topic is ( may be I am wrong I believe you are not precisely a Calphad expert).
From what I have seen here, it is not the first time that you cut/stop/delete articles written by people with the precise will of spreading information.
If you need to correct homeworks, just should get a degree and go to any kind of school to be a teacher.
So you could spend your time in an useful way.
Meanwhile, we all be pleased here to see that you stop your not respectful actions

- @Pierantonio Gratarol: You are referring to my moving the Draft:Lawrence Kaufman article from main space to draft space. I don't need any knowledge of Calphads to do that, my move had everything to do with Wikipedia procedures. As I explained on your talk page you created/opened the article with the words "Note this is a preliminary wikipedia article, and should be properly reworked." If an article is "preliminary" and needs to be "reworked" it does not belong in main space. There was no disrespect meant or intended, all I did was put the article in a proper space to be improved before formal publication. JamesG5 (talk) 05:27, 30 November 2017 (UTC)
Enrico Papi, Stefano Fresi
Stefano Fresi and Enrico Papi are two famous Italian public figures. Can you help me contribute to their Wikipedia pages? Thank you
- @Maxcov16: Hi, the issue with both pages is that there are no sources/references. Per the Wikipedia policy on biographies of living people WP:BLP, all such articles must have sources. So the other editor & I tagged them with a warning. They won't be deleted right away, you have a week to fix them. If you can't do it in time, let me know and I'll move them to Draft space for you so you have more time to fix them. For more info on how to fix the references, see WP:REFBEGIN. Also, when you post on a talk page like this, whether it's another users or on an article, always put 4 tildes ~~~~ at the end to sign your name. Let me know what else I can do to help. - We made massive progress during the recent four weeks of the NPP Backlog Drive, during which the backlog reduced by nearly six thousand articles and the length of the backlog by almost 3 months!
General project update:
- ACTRIAL will end it's initial phase on the 14th of March. Our goal is to reduce the backlog significantly below the 90 day index point by the 14th of March. Please consider helping with this goal by reviewing a few additional pages a day.
- Reviewing redirects is an important and necessary part of New Page Patrol. Please read the guideline on appropriate redirects for advice on reviewing redirects. Inappropriate redirects can be re-targeted or nominated for deletion at RfD.

False information review
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregori_Lukas
Confirmed with public relations and management at that time from 2012 until August 2015 that there was no involvement or work with Jessie J and no Grammy nomination. There is no link providing proof of collaboration nor any proof or any professional relationship. This page is claiming credit for other people's work and must be fixedone immediately.
- @Theschooptalk: I am not sure what you're talking about or why you're tagging me, I don't know anything about this person & have never edited that page, nor am I an administrator. How can I help you? Please note if you're posting on someone's page you generally add your post to the BOTTOM of the page, not the top, and when you post you should put 4 tildes ~~~~ after your post top create a signature. JamesG5 (talk) 04:57, 20 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Theschooptalk: I looked at your user page, the only interaction we had was last year in this deletion discussion https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Chris_Avery_Bennet. I am not sure if that has anything to do with this new issue? JamesG5 (talk) 05:06, 20 February 2018 (UTC)
Chris Avery
On the Chris Avery subject I emailed Chris about the page and the info on it and she replied if we could have some more information put into it and have it turned into a real page or make sure it's completely deleted, it is showing up in her Google search. Sorry
Sorry I thought you had some involvement and you'd be someone to show something to if there is false information etc. And totally new to this sorry about the top thing. Reached out to the previous PR for Gregori and that person must have had it removed because it was not true. Theschooptalk (talk) 21:52, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Theschooptalk: No need to apologize, I just wasn't sure exactly what kind of help you were looking for, I am always happy to help if I can or to direct people to where they can get help. I work specifically on monitoring new pages so I have some extra tools there, on existing pages I don't have anything different than regular users but I can point you. If you need anything you're always free to ask. JamesG5 (talk) 02:59, 23 February 2018 (UTC)
New Page Review Newsletter No.10
ACTRIAL:
- ACTRIAL's six month experiment restricting new page creation to (auto)confirmed users ended on 14 March. As expected, a greatly increased number of unsuitable articles and candidates for deletion are showing up in the feed again, and the backlog has since increased already by ~30%. Please consider reviewing a few extra articles each day.
Paid editing
- Now that ACTRIAL is inoperative pending discussion, please be sure to look for tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary.
Subject-specific notability guidelines
- The box at the right contains each of the subject-specific notability guidelines, please review any that are relevant BEFORE nominating an article for deletion.
- Reviewers are requested to familiarise themselves with the new version of the notability guidelines for organisations and companies. A further discussion is currently taking place at: Can a subject specific guideline invalidate the General Notability Guideline?
Nominate competent users for Autopatrolled
- While patrolling articles, if you find an editor that is particularly competent at creating quality new articles, and that user has created more than 25 articles (rather than stubs), consider nominating them for the 'Autopatrolled' user right HERE.
News
