Ratemycop.com
editI deleted the article because I did not think it was a notable website. If you want, I can restore the article and send it to Articles for deletion and let the community decide the fate of the article. Nishkid64 (talk) 00:49, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
- Articles need to have reliable sources to back up information. This is one of the criteria for notability. The article you pointed to me just briefly mentions Ratemycop.com (at the end). I would need to see some other reliable sources that are solely focused on Ratemycop. Best, Nishkid64 (talk) 07:32, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
HOW IS THIS? NOTABLE YET?

Responding anytime soon?
http://cbs2.com/tech/hddvd.ratemycop.iphone.2.671642.html something new today
- I'm still torn about this. It seems to attract some local news attention, but the site doesn't seem to be that popular (Alexa rank: 3 million). Could you please take this issue to WP:DRV? I would like more input from other Wikipedians regarding this article. Nishkid64 (Make articles, not love) 05:38, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
WOW Alexa.com is the worst metric tool out there! It's not updated fast. Use quantcast, much better. The site has already had 700,000 views is 7 days.

Is this site wikipedia worthy yet? They were just censored by Godaddy.com http://blog.wired.com/27bstroke6/2008/03/godaddy-silence.html?cid=106785004#comment-106785004 Kevin (talk) 20:22, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
This is a good one.

I am finding this process humorous. Ratemycop.com is mentioned in the godaddy wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godaddy. However RMC is still not a "notable website"
- Umm, maybe because that just happened a few days ago. All your other stuff was brought up more than two weeks ago. I have now restored the page. Please clean it up and rewrite it so that it conforms to the guidelines set by our Manual of Style. Nishkid64 (Make articles, not love) 17:30, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
- The article can be found here. I cleaned it up and expanded a bit. Nishkid64 (Make articles, not love) 17:42, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
Thank you very much. I'm new to this system.
Speedy deletion of RateMyCop.com
editA tag has been placed on RateMyCop.com requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. John Collier (talk) 01:14, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of RateMyCop.com
editA proposed deletion template has been added to the article RateMyCop.com, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- I've declined a speedy on this as I think there's a very very vague assertion there, but I don't think this will ever be a viable article subject.
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. – iridescent 02:27, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
