Editing Concerns

  1.
Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits are considered vandalism. If you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the work of others. Thank you. You appear to be blanking others' work all over the place. Which appears like intentional vandalism to me.Kukini 07:05, 26 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

In response to your post on Kukini's talk page. Wikipedia is not censored for minors, many of our articles contain pornographic images, as they are the best available to illustrate their context. Please see WP:NOT#Wikipedia_is_not_censored. Thank you. Canadian-Bacon 07:16, 26 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Blanking pages

edit

As you will likely quickly see, blanking others' work in wikipedia without discussion of the rationale for such blanking on each talk page, will likely result in others reverting your actions. Please consider, instead discussing your concerns on the relevant talk pages. --Kukini 07:29, 26 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hello Fusek71! Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. If you decide that you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Please remember to sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. You may also push the signature button   located above the edit window. Finally, please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. Below are some recommended guidelines to facilitate your involvement. Happy editing! -- Kukini 07:31, 26 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Bible commentary on every chapter

edit

A tag has been placed on Bible commentary on every chapter, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Finngall talk 20:56, 29 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia is not a collection of links. This article title describes something which has no place on Wikipedia. --Orange Mike 21:06, 29 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Maybe I have it categorized wrong. Maybe it should say "list" or "category". Clearly there are numerous pages on wikipedia which are similar to the one I am trying to make. Fusek71 21:09, 29 August 2007 (UTC)Fusek71Reply

There are already numerous lists, categories and templates which cover this ground. This page is redundant. --Finngall talk 21:25, 29 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Your description says it provides "links to commentary"; that's a collection of links, one of the expressly not permitted categories of articles in Wikipedia. --Orange Mike 21:27, 29 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

It's going to link internally to pages on Wikipedia which are not yet created. If that's on wikipedia already, then I'll forgo contesting you. Fusek71 21:30, 29 August 2007 (UTC)Fusek71Reply

? There are already pages on Wikipedia for every book of the Bible. If the pages "not yet created" are your own commentaries, then that is Original Research and not suitable for Wikipedia. --Orange Mike 21:37, 29 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

They are going to be commentaries for each "chapter" - all 1189 of them. They are not going to be my original research. They're going to be a collaborative effort of users. I'm just going to get the pages set up and allow other people to give the summaries and issues of each chapter. That's the plan, anyway. If I am going about it in the wrong order, I'm sorry, but I am just trying to get the skeleton for now. Fusek71 21:44, 29 August 2007 (UTC)Fusek71Reply

Sandboxes

edit

You can create your own private sandbox by creating a subpage of your user page (for instance, User:Fusek71/Sandbox), and nobody will bother you there. You can keep it around for as long as you need it, and you can request that it be deleted by adding a {{db-author}} tag if you decide you don't need it anymore. --Finngall talk 21:44, 29 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

OK. I have it saved in sandbox and will work on it there. You may delete the existing page. Thank you for showing me how to use sandbox as I did not know how to use it.

So once I have my page done, how do I know it won't get deleted then? Fusek71 21:51, 29 August 2007 (UTC)Fusek71Reply

Hard to say until we see the finished product. I'm no Bible expert, but it seems to me that commentaries on every single chapter is way too much detail for an encyclopedia like this. But then again, I've been wrong before. Others may have better suggestions on what the best title for your list should be. I suggest getting guidance from the folks at Wikipedia:WikiProject Bible who are more experienced on Bible-related articles. I'll also reiterate that any information needs to be backed up by references, and that this is not the place to post original research. Happy editing! --Finngall talk 21:59, 29 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of List of First Ladies of the United States by longevity

edit

A tag has been placed on List of First Ladies of the United States by longevity, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

The merge was done a while ago - [1], per the comments by the closing admin at the AFD, this list should be deleted after the merge

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. CutOffTies (talk) 13:24, 19 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
