Unsourced edits to BLPs

edit

Hi! I undid an edit you made to Josh Pederson, adding his full name (here), as you did not include a citation for it and I did not see one supporting that edit in the article. Additionally, I've seen a few of your edits in passing and many do not include citations, especially on articles for biographies of living persons. Just from edits in your most recent 50 contributions, I found your edits to Brandon Aubrey, this edit to Cole Kmet, this edit to Paris Johnson Jr., and this edit to Mack Wilson. Please make sure you include sources when editing articles, especially BLPs. Thanks! Eagles 24/7 (C) 00:35, 7 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Happy Holidays

edit

Peace is a state of balance and understanding in yourself and between others, where respect is gained by the acceptance of differences, tolerance persists, conflicts are resolved through dialog, people's rights are respected and their voices are heard, and everyone is at their highest point of serenity without social tension. Happy Holidays to you and yours. ―Buster7

Hello, I'm Daniel Quinlan. Your recent edit to the page Arthur Smith (American football, born 1982) appears to have added premature information about a reported sports transaction, so it has been removed for now. The transaction is based on anonymous sources and/or awaiting an official announcement. If you believe the transaction has been completed, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. Proposed deletion of Fond My Mind

edit

The article Fond My Mind has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No sources can be found that discuss the subject with significant coverage that are not self-published sources.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -BRAINULATOR9 (TALK) 01:13, 11 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, in reply

edit

After a recent difficult edit to the Philip Galanes page, you replied with encouragement, and invited greater engagement with WP. Given the nature of the edit—it was not "prettifying", but to the contrary, called attention to longstanding issues of sourcing—it was an unusual WP editor response, and I wanted to express thanks to you for it. Your response was one of the most positive and encouraging signs I have seen here in a long time, in offering a thumbs-up to this academician, who with other colleagues and scholars wish to improve the encyclopedia by squarely facing issues as they are encountered. It is often hard to "call it like [we] see it", but we do so because that is what we were trained to do (when we are operate in the areas where we are SMEs). It is a reassuring experience—among the most reassuring in 20 yrs of editing here—that I have received. Cheers to you. 73.110.36.118 (talk) 16:34, 19 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Deletion discussion about Lowell Galindo

edit

Hello Fakescientist8000, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Lowell Galindo, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lowell Galindo.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Miminity}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

(Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

Warm Regards, Miminity (talk) (contribs) 02:14, 1 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Bagumba. Your recent edit to the page Karl-Anthony Towns appears to have added premature information about a reported sports transaction, so it has been removed for now. The transaction is based on anonymous sources and/or awaiting an official announcement. If you believe the transaction has been completed, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. —Bagumba (talk) 06:11, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Bagumba, and thank you for letting me know; but not only did I already know that the edit had been (mostly) reversed, but I have a notice at the top of my page asking for folks to not template me. I know you were just trying to be helpful, but for future reference a simple 30 second typed warning will do. :) Cheers, atque supra! Fakescientist8000 11:41, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Apologies. This is a slightly nuanced topic, that I did check that you hadn't received. But again, sorry for the impersonal nature.. Best regards. —Bagumba (talk) 11:51, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

my comment was not removed. don't be so sensitive that you are sensitive to the criticism of others. criticism is healthy. surely you can see the insolence and pride of the crew in charge of the RD section. It's sickening. i don't know how to send you a private reply so i'm just following the instructions you left in your message for me. Peace Skootamassa (talk) 17:02, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Skootamassa I'm fully aware. However, passive aggressive comments such as that message are not helpful to the point of ITN/C. Cheers, atque supra! Fakescientist8000 19:23, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
what is itn/c?
there was nothing passive aggressive about my comment. that term gets passed around so easily these days. P/A is denoted by passive hostility and indirect communication. if anything i was being openly hostile and direct in my communication, which is synonymous with being critical. I don't intend to beat this issue into the bush, but when you come around blindly criticising the critic of a group of people who require criticism and introspection then you are just adding fluff to the air and stirring up uneccessary contention. I believe your intentions are good, however blind, and could be put to better use with true intent, your intent, and a decent understanding of the perspectives involved in the situation you so choose to meddle.
Peace and blessings to you, Skootamassa (talk) 16:18, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of 2030 United States House of Representatives elections

edit

Hello Fakescientist8000,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged 2030 United States House of Representatives elections for deletion, because it's a redirect that seems implausible or is an unlikely search term.

If you don't want 2030 United States House of Representatives elections to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Speedy deletion nomination of 2030 United States House of Representatives elections

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on 2030 United States House of Representatives elections requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. I uploaded pics of a trip that was a 10-day celebration of a 16 November event, but the day was also when a dear friend died. We sang Hevenu shalom aleichem at his funeral yesterday, and it was good. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:39, 30 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
