h3h3productions; "drama"

edit

The definition you are referencing, which I assume you got from researchgate.net (the first definition appearing on Google search), is no dictionary definition. It's a definition some person proposed in an academic paper. Per Collins Dictionary, "discourse is spoken or written communication between people, especially serious discussion of a particular subject", which would very much apply here in my opinion. I don't think I need to define "public" for you. If you disagree that "public discourse" is not an appropriate alternative, please either change the phrase as you see fit or put the word in quotes. "Drama" as it's used here is colloquial and should not appear in prose of any encyclopedic article. Thank you. Throast (talk | contribs) 08:36, 21 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

New Wikipedia Guideline Proposed which you might be interested in.

edit

Hello. I am letting editors know who participated in the recent discussions that decided whether the Killing of David Amess should be called "killing, murder, or assassination", about a new Wikipedia essay being proposed for a new guideline. The essay, Wikipedia:Assassination, explains how the common definition of "assassination" does not determine an article's title. Only reliable sources can determine whether it is murder/killing or assassination. Since you participated in those recent discussions, I wanted to drop a message to you about this new proposal. If you want to leave your opinion about it, you can do so in this discussion. Have a good day and keep up the good editing! Elijahandskip (talk) 01:42, 25 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Reclaimny.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Vladlen Manilov / 17:26, 26 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Contributing to Draft:H3 podcast

edit

Hi Perfecnot,

I think we can both agree that creation of an H3 podcast article is overdue and I noticed that you have created a draft for it. I hope you don't mind me contributing to it as well. I am going to go ahead and start making some edits, if that's not okay feel free to revert them. I can't promise that I will be particularly active or contribute much. Thanks. Pabsoluterince (talk) 08:08, 27 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Feel free to Perfecnot (talk) 11:52, 27 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
I submitted it for review. It may take a few weeks. You can still make any changes in the meantime. Thanks. Pabsoluterince (talk) 13:14, 28 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
I doubt it’ll be approved to the amount of copied text from the h3h3 main article. We need to work on that. Perfecnot (talk) 15:48, 28 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
It wasn't  , but I think it's completely reasonable. In the meantime I moved all the new bits to the h3 article. I think that both articles need some expanding before they can be ripped apart. Pabsoluterince (talk) 02:37, 29 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Ryan Kavanaugh

edit

Hello, I reverted your edit to Ryan Kavanaugh as IMDb is not considered to be reliable for such information. See Talk:Ryan Kavanaugh#Date of Birth for more information. Cheers, --SVTCobra 10:35, 23 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Its all good, although I don't love the "either born in 1974 or 1975". Have you found any good sources to verify his age?

Updating DXC Technology

edit

I see you participate in the Technology WikiProject. I made a proposal to update the article on DXC Technology. You can see the proposal here: Talk:DXC Technology#Discussion on proposals Sep ‘22. I have a conflict of interest, so I am refraining from direct edits of the article. Could you possibly look at the proposals? Updating Western Marine Shipyard's Financial Scandals and Current Status

edit

Dear Perfecnot, I am very disappointed in you and your unjust, unacceptable actions. I updated the wikipedia page on Western Marine Shipyard in order to explain how it is one of the top loan defaulters of Bangladesh, how it is financially bankrupt, how the company's assets have been seized due to the financial scandals, and so on. I explained everything after making the changes. However, you undid everything, and it appears that you are working as some sort of an agent for Western Marine Shipyard in order to hide their financial scandals and mismanagement. Please undo that you did, and make sure that my updates are visible. You lied to me when you stated that I didn't explain why I made the changes, even though I did. Please accept responsibility for your actions. Jdmbet (talk) 03:17, 19 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

I am not an agent of any company at all. The fact of the matter is that your edits were largely unsourced and mostly original research. You also deleted a lot of content with no reasonable explanation. I encourage you to read up on the rules of Wikipedia, and if you find reputable sources documenting Western Marine Shipyards corruption, I would love to see you add it to the page. Perfecnot (talk) 03:20, 19 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Also your contributions lacked a neutral point of view, something that is essential when editing Wikipedia.

Introduction to contentious topics

edit

You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Wracking talk! 15:11, 19 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Why was my edit reverted Perfecnot (talk) 15:37, 19 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Your edit was reverted because you do not have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, a requirement for edits related to the Arab–Israeli conflict (WP:PIA). Wracking talk! 17:31, 19 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Oh. I wasn't aware of that policy Perfecnot (talk) 17:43, 19 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
You can see all active sanctions here: WP:General sanctions#Active sanctions. There are two tables—one for sanctions implemented by the Arbitration Committee, and one for sanctions implemented by the English Wikipedia community. Not all topics are as restrictive as the Arab–Israeli conflict (see the tables for details). You do not have to memorize these topics, but it's a helpful reference for edits that might face pushback. (Also, many articles will have notes on the talk page with a warning.) Wracking talk! 17:58, 19 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
The prohibition on editing the topic applies everywhere on en.wiki. If you make another edit in violation, as you did at WP:ANI you will be blocked. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 20:11, 29 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Having seen that you've violated this in other places I have blocked you. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 20:14, 29 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

To enforce an arbitration decision, and for WP:ECR violations on the page Talk:Israeli allegations against UNRWA, you have been blocked from editing Wikipedia for a period of 31 hours Wikipedia. You are welcome to edit once the block expires; however, please note that the repetition of similar behavior may result in a longer block or other sanctions.

If you believe this block is unjustified, please read the guide to appealing blocks (specifically this section) before appealing. Place the following on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Please copy my appeal to the [[WP:AE|arbitration enforcement noticeboard]] or [[WP:AN|administrators' noticeboard]]. Your reason here OR place the reason below this template. ~~~~}}. If you intend to appeal on the arbitration enforcement noticeboard, I suggest you use the arbitration enforcement appeals template on your talk page so it can be copied over easily. You may also appeal directly to me (by email), before or instead of appealing on your talk page.

ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 20:13, 29 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Reminder to administrators: In May 2014, ArbCom adopted the following procedure instructing administrators regarding Arbitration Enforcement blocks: "No administrator may modify a sanction placed by another administrator without: (1) the explicit prior affirmative consent of the enforcing administrator; or (2) prior affirmative agreement for the modification at (a) AE or (b) AN or (c) ARCA (see "Important notes" [in the procedure]). Administrators modifying sanctions out of process may at the discretion of the committee be desysopped."
