Jyotheeswar, images found on the internet, even of promotional events, are not in the public domain unless they are rather old (see Public domain) or have been explicitly released as such by the copyright holder. - Peripitus (Talk) 10:04, 7 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Vijay (actor) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Please be advised that the naming of this article was discussed at Talk:Vijay (actor)/Archive 2#Requested move. Do not try to move it unilaterally, but rather seek consensus by opening a discussion at WP:Requested moved. Thank you. Favonian (talk) 10:20, 7 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Joseph Vijay

edit

Try 2 understand me. Pls do not move the page Vijay (actor) to anything else. His real name may be Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar, but he is commonly known as just Vijay. Even if u put a discussion b4 moving the page, u will not win bcoz no-one calls him by his full name. Pls do not try 2 overpower me, bcoz I mean the truth. Kailash29792 (talk) 12:39, 11 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Both of us are right in different cases. The links Joseph Vijay, then Joseph Vijay Chandrashekar, etc. will still be redirects to the actor's page, that is for ppl who dont see him as an actor. But there's no-one (not even rural ppl) who doesn't see him as an actor. Kailash29792 (talk) 13:55, 11 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
You may have to see these: Vikram (actor), Surya (actor), Arya (actor), Aadhi (actor), and more so. Kailash29792 (talk) 14:14, 11 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button   or   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 13:02, 11 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Bold text==Please Expand Your contributions== I've seen that most of your edits are on Vijay (actor)'s main page. But you can help me to develop his film's pages too. Many of his film's pages are not in good form, so I tried my best to maintain them especially Ghilli, Sivakasi, Pokkiri, Velayudham, Nanban and Thuppakki. I'm expecting your help.Thank you! Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Vijay (actor), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Vishnuvardhan (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
