Hello Dan

I left you a message/question atWikipedia:Embassy

I linked you personnal page to the fr:wiki.

The page you created some time ago was deleted on the french wiki, because you put it as an encyclopedia article. I moved your text and picture in your personnal page. I then left a message in the talk of the article I had created (in case you came back and wondered where your information was), but somebody seeing the page was empty didnot bothered with the talk and deleted everything. So, here's the explanation for the move. Welcome.

Dan, I let you a message at user:anthere

I think that I made some edits to sv:Plattyska, so see if I figured out your language OK. The main point is that "Franconian" = "Frankish", and the latter seems to have an obvious translation into Swedish. — Toby 08:03 Dec 1, 2002 (UTC)

Dan, I've set up a Swedish test site at http://sv.wikipedia.org/ . Please check to make sure everything seems in order. --Brion 12:02 Dec 1, 2002 (UTC)

Dan - jag har inte gjort mycket wiki på sistone, livet har tagit mig i anspråk på andra sätt... Jag ska titta lite på det vid tillfälle, men det ser lite mörkt ut just nu.:-( Tack för inbjudan:-) User:OlofE

Re your query at Talk:arthropod, try Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (biology). Opinion here about using latin binomials is mixed. Eclecticology 08:47 Dec 4, 2002 (UTC)

That is about naming. I think Dan would be more interested in WikiProject Tree of Life. --mav

Regarding your note about 'zoo', I'll have to disappoint you: It was just one bit of a project to get the Dutch pages as much as possible internationally linked. Andre Engels 17:33 Dec 8, 2002 (UTC)

Hi Dan, Regarding Magnus I genealogy, there haven't been a general format for presenting family trees and members. Since each person people has a unique genealogy, you can try adding it as an attribute to Wikipedia:WikiProject Biography that collects all information of a person In the meantime you can derive your own format. kt2 18:49 Dec 8 2002 (UTC)

Dan, Just letting you know I answered your note at my page [1]. I wish I knew more about Swedish stuff (Birger Jarl for example...should be translated Earl but he would rank more like a British Duke, if I'm not mistaken, but I'm not sure enough to change it)... and it seems like you know a lot of stuff that I don't!. -- Someone else 01:16 Dec 10, 2002 (UTC)

I have a geography question for you: What is the English (if one exists) and Swedish names of the mountain chain that separates Norway and Sweden? Our Sweden article says it is the Scandic Mountains but Google only finds 10 hits for that name. "Scandinavian mountain chain" seems more like a descriptive term and not a name. Any help would be great. Thanks! --mav

Hi, regarding your wikiproject, posting at village pump or help desk can help. You can also check the history of the swedish monarch pages and promote your project to who regularly edit those pages. Those guys may share the same interest as you. Hope this info help. kt2

Dan, Just thought I'd point you toward some stuff that might be interesting in terms of wikiproject genealogy: Henry V, Holy Roman Emperor & Talk:Henry V, Holy Roman Emperor. Nothing terribly new though. -- Someone else 08:01 Jan 2, 2003 (UTC)

Greetings, Dan. I couldn't help but notice your ongoing dispute with User:Liftarn. Please see Jimmy Wales comment on the Wikipedia mailing list, and take heart. You are not alone. -- NetEsq 20:12 Jan 2, 2003 (UTC)

Dan, I think I found a reference on Erik XIV (of Sweden)'s autopsy - the date of which seems to have been 1958 - not that I could read it if I could locate it, but on the chance you might have better luck I thought I'd give the reference to you at least: Caspersson R, Ekström G and Hjorts CH. Erik XIV- En historisk, kulturhistorisk och medicinsk-antropologisk undersökning i samband med gravöppningen 1958 i Västerås domkyrka. Stockholm 1962. If you ever do read it, I'm interested in which poison they found (e.g. arsenic?) -- Someone else 15:20 Jan 20, 2003 (UTC)

Dan, good to see you out and about in the English wiki<G> -- Someone else 03:22 Feb 12, 2003 (UTC)

Dan, IP banned? loss of sysop rights? sounds like there's a story there, it CAN'T have been that you were misbehaving! - No matter, at least you HAD sysop rights<G>. -- Someone else 22:55 Feb 18, 2003 (UTC)

You'd think neonazis would have other business (I suppose we should be thankful they don't), but it does seem they like wiki's. May the spirit of Hanno, lamented pet pachyderm of Pope Leo X, haunt their sleep, trouble their dreams, and befoul their nests. <G> -- Someone else 05:56 Feb 19, 2003 (UTC)

You have records about Hanno? This sounds interesting...Dan Koehl 23:04 Feb 19, 2003 (UTC)

hi Dan, you left a mesage for me: Hi Teunspaans, are you sure about the link from the swedish word Ester, to the Book of Ester? The article takes up the folks from Estland, who we call Ester in pluralis, as well as the name Ester, which is rather common. However, an article "the book of Ester" is not present, at least not presently. Dan Koehl 22:11 Dec 26, 2002 (UTC)

well, no I am not sure, I dont know any swedish and I presumed that '2. Kvinnonamn som även givit namn åt en bok i bibeln. ' had anything to do with the bible book of esther. Please correct me!
