- New pages, mostly. Not specific users. When I notice interesting page creations, I have a short look at the other edits. Of course, encouraging new users to participate is a good idea. User:HostBot does so in most cases, but if you notice a constructive contributor, welcoming them is perfect. And welcome back to you then! If you had a registered username and remember which it was, you may like to point this out on your user page. However, you are not required to do so unless there had been problems with the old account (see WP:Clean start). If you did not have a registered username and contributed as an IP address, you are never required to disclose the address (see WP:LOGOUT), and probably don't remember it anyway. Regarding the German edition, I do! See de:Spezial:Beiträge/ToBeFree for my German Wikipedia contributions. - @Diannaa:, sorry but I think you are somehow wrong - this was a text translated 1:1 by the spanish article, it was marked as a translation and I do not see any copyright violation at all, furthermore you do not mention what exactly should be copied from. - The place where I found the similar content was https://dreamcatcher-events.com/tommyemmanuelsguitargetawayhavana. It's a promptional blurb of the type provided to performance venues by a musician's publisher. So I suspect that the material was added to the Spanish article by someone with a conflict of interest. GOCE May drive article list
Since the backlog is very low, any article you copyedit should be from the backlog (I see you've marked some as *O) or from the requests page. Many of the articles you're counting are not marked *R, so where are you getting them? The drive is limited to articles from the backlog or the requests page. Hitler's prophecy copyedit
Although I appreciate your effort, there are some issues which you should be aware of:
- It's important to pay attention to MOS:ENGVAR; in this copyedit you changed some American spelling to British spelling despite the fact that the article uses consistent American spelling.
- Please be careful not to modify direct quotes, as you did at least three times in the edit. (See MOS:QUOTE for the exceptions to this.)
- Try to avoid changing the meaning of the sentence, as you did by removing "under certain circumstances" in the last section of the article. (There are really only very specific circumstances where the sentence is true according to the source, so it needs the modifier.)
- Per MOS:OL, extant countries such as Hungary should not be linked.
Especially when working on articles that are up for FAC or GAN, it's important to avoid introducing errors during a copyedit. buidhe 08:43, 20 May 2020 (UTC)

Wikimedia commons
Sorry to disturb you again, Mr. Waterford. I want to add images at articles by wikimedia commons. There should be five small links- and one of them should be use this file. But there are five links- file, file history, and so on. I asked this question at teahouse but when I tried to add photos the use the file option suddenly disappears. Please help. adding a photo and wikimedia commons
Well, I went to wikimedia commons and searched Mario Ponce. There is a link above the username named "use the file". In this case, there were five links- file,file history, use on wikimedia commons, use on other wiki and metadata. Where did use the file option disappear? And can you add a photo of Mario Ponce at the Wikipedia page using the photo at wikimedia commons? Please help me in this case. - Now I got it... well there are five tabs, File File history File usage on Commons File usage on other wikis Metadata but the problem here is that someone claims that this photo has a copyright... see the popup below.. so best would be you will contact the press office of him at https://www.asamblea.gob.sv/diputados/details/97810CEB-D11C-48BF-A4BD-394169B933EE and ask for allowance to use this photo on wikipedia. Speedy deletions
Just as a note, if you see a page that is copied from an external source, such as at Lenrie Olatokunbo Aina, you should use the WP:G12 deletion tag, which is for copyright violations. WP:G6 is for when a page is "moved" from one title to another via copy/paste instead of properly moved. Primefac (talk) 14:26, 28 May 2020 (UTC)

- Sorry you feel that way, but please be assured that I am not singling you out for special treatment – anything that is symptomatic of wider issue grabs my attention, and your edit to Obsolete golf clubs (correcting one header while incorrectly changing two others) did just that. That concern is borne out by the numbers (well over 50 articles and a not insignificant percentage of your contributions). As per the above, at least one edit today did not fix the real problem (i.e. vandalism) only embedded it. Question About ShipMonk Submission
Hi CommanderWaterford,
Thanks so much for replying to my question regarding my submission (ShipMonk). I can understand why it could be seen as advertising, but, as I've previously mentioned, there's an article on Wikipedia about ShipBob, who is very similar in terms of size and function. It would be very helpful if I could get an answer as to why this submission was singled out and if there is anything I can do to fix it, or if it's just going to be rejected until, I'm assuming, ShipMonk grows as a company.
My intention when writing the article was not at all to advertise, but to inform. Order fulfillment is somewhat of a niche topic, American order fulfillment even more so, but ShipMonk is absolutely an important presence in that specific world and I believe a Wikipedia page would reflect that.

- A high percentage doesn't guarantee a copyright violation; it's better to look at the amount of text highlighted as overlapping, and lists of proper nouns are non-copyrightable. - Since you requested a public response, sure: yes, this account is obviously not new, has requested multiple PERMS, and is actively editing in project space. The use in project space would be a violation of WP:PROJSOCK and the requests for PERMS is typically considered a violation of WP:SCRUTINY as admins need to be able to assess the whole history of an account before granting them. I'm not stalking you: I'm a CU and I work the PERMS area as well, and have other admin's talk pages on my watchlist. I saw the discussion on Primefac's talk, which reminded me that I needed to follow-up with you.If you have any prior accounts, they should be disclosed if you plan on continuing to get involved in backend stuff. You can do that to ArbCom or to an individual CU. You can also disclose publicly. This isn't a big deal, I didn't realize how disclosures worked when I created this account and edited undisclosed for a while: I abandoned my first account due to privacy reasons. But yes, new users popping up and requesting quick access to permissions that normally take months to get is going to raise eye-brows, and if you want the portions of the socking policy they raise eye-brows over, I've linked to them above. Strange Time
Hello dear CommanderWaterford This article Strange Time is not an advertisement. This is an independent exhibition created as part of a non-profit structure. Today it is one of the largest exhibitions in the virtual space, in which famous artists from around the world take part and which I was interested to write about for the Wikipedia audience. Considering that it most definitely SEEMED like vandalism, I can fully understand why you reverted the edit to François Fillon article. However, it wasn't. The guy was convicted of fraud today and sentenced to five years in prison. The real question is why no one seemed to notice that the former head of Government of a major world power was on trial. Hello Commander Waterford, I have edited the Ziemkiewicz page because it contained libelous material. Indeed there was a claim made against Mr. Ziemkiewicz by his political opponents with respect to the book. However it is part of a larger campaign to silence dissenting voices by partisans masquerading as "anti rasist" forces. The accusation that Ziemkiewicz called the Holocaust a myth is blatantly untrue and libelous. Ziemkiewicz explains this situation in a subsequent interview: the polish word "mit" means "foundational narrative" and not "myth." Ziemkiewicz makes the point that the Holocaust is the foundational narrative for certain groups as a source of their legitimacy. To say that Ziemkiewicz called the Holocaust a "myth" outrageously misrepresents his statement. I made an edit to Survivor: Edge of Extinction in an attempt to bring the “voting history” section to attention; it looks all wonky. It is NOT vandalism, as I CLEARLY said to remove what I posted after the table was fixed, and I have no idea how to fix something like that. I HATE it when I try to follow rules of this lousy website and get treated like a troll. I have always strived to make constructive edits ONLY (though I can understand why reverting that edit had occurred because yes, it was unlike any other one that can be deemed as a positive change to the article), but PLEASE do NOT say I vandalized the article! That was FAR from my goal in this case, and it was frankly out of line. Stuff like that really hurts. After this, why don’t you just go ahead and block me from editing permanently? my recommendation
I took a quick minute to research what the issue was. Suffice to say, you reverted an admin with a semi-automated tool claiming "unexplained removal of content" when that admin did, in fact, leave an edit summary. If you didn't understand their edit summary then you should have asked them for clarification. As you are a CLEANSTART account, I worry that you still have the same issues influencing you now that led to leave your prior Wikipedia account. I also note that you seemed to very quickly become defensive when other editors disagreed. We always need good countervandals protecting our encyclopedia but when countervandals make simple mistakes, the content creators will be unhappy. Serial Number 54129's criticism of you points to that: a dislike of how you spend your time on wiki. No one is condemning you as a worthless editor. This was just one mistake that you reacted to badly. I think the best thing for you to do is perhaps slow down your editing and consider not using semi-automated tools like Twinkle and RedWarn. Instead, you could restrict your editing to blatant vandalism and avoid grey-area cases. You could spend more time on finding sources for articles or working any of our other maintenance backlogs. Hovey is indeed a notable figure in the history of 19th century American travel writers, particularly with an eye towards American caves, but I acknowledge that my initial article did not convey that. Recent changes
- There is a Wikipedia app for KaiOS phones. They don't have a touch screen so readers navigate with the phone keys. There is now a simulator so you can see what it looks like.
- The reply tool and new discussion tool are now available as the "Discussion tools" beta feature in almost all wikis except German Wikipedia.
Problems
- You will be able to read but not edit twelve wikis for a short period of time on 23 March at 06:00 (UTC). This can also affect password changes, logging in to new wikis, global renames and changing or confirming emails. This could take 30 minutes but will probably be much faster.
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 23 March. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 24 March. It will be on all wikis from 25 March (calendar).
- Syntax highlighting colours will change to be easier to read. This will soon come to the first wikis. [47]

- Flagged revisions will no longer have multiple tags like "tone" or "depth". It will also only have one tier. This was changed because very few wikis used these features and they make the tool difficult to maintain. [48][49]

I have a vast knowledge of musicians and bands- their chronology, discography, personal lives, etc.- and I pay attention to detail, only making edits that I am 100% sure are accurate. For most of my edits on Burdi, like those on other musicians, I suggest you to perform a shallow perusal of the internet, which will verify the accuracy of some of the information I present. Certainly such a perusal will not verify the truth of anything I've deleted, as it's all untrue.
A more important question than why I deleted lies from his page would be: Why were the lies there to begin with? The band RaHoWa disbanded in 1997. That's a fact of history. Just because a contributor cited a journalist who made up out of thin air that Mr. Burdi resumed performing with RaHoWa in 2017 doesn't make it so. To be honest, I am embarrassed to even have to have this conversation. You apparently are in a position somewhere up the hierarchy of Wikipedia editors. You should want your site to have integrity. The fact that Wikipedia does not have factual integrity is the reason many people do not come here, but instead go elsewhere to research.
George Burdi has been openly practicing Hinduism for more than two decades. Why did you not want that on there? He was the co-founder and co-owner of Resistance records. Why do you want it to say he owned it solely? Why do you not want his marriage on there? He is a credited songwriter on Dimple Sharma's album 'Urban Monk'. She is the "Dee" who was his fiance on the VH1 special that documented him. That program is no longer on YouTube, so I can't cite it as a reference.
I changed "white nationalism" to "racism" because the term "white nationalism" was only popularized within the past decade. When Burdi renounced racism in 1997, all press and media used the term "racism". It is therefore erroneous to take a modern buzz word and quote people from earlier times as having renounced it. There are many publications still online from back in the aughts that mention what they term his "renunciation of racism". Not a one says he "renounced white nationalism".
Novacosm never covered "Ode To A Dying People". George Burdi did, as a solo artist. Reading such falsehoods hurt my eyes, so I tried to change it.
If Wikipedia does not allow people to remove false information and add true, interesting, and relevant basic facts about the lives of public figures, your reputation will continue to plummet.

Just a reminder to always check the edit history before tagging stale drafts. Every time. I'm not sure how you edit but a problem can arise if you open up a lot of drafts in tabs in your browser because you anticipate tagging them later. I've found some editors going in during the last hours before drafts reach G13 status to make a minor edit to prevent deletion so even if a draft appeared on a G13 eligible list or category a couple of hours ago doesn't mean that it still should be tagged for deletion at the time you look at it.
I've found a few problems with your taggings and Admins want to trust that you've thoroughly checked out pages before tagging so it isn't necessary to recheck your work. You'll find it builds trust and confidence that others have in the quality of your editing work.
You've racked up so many edits in a short period of time that you might want to slow down and pace yourself. On Wikipedia, accuracy is MUCH more important than speed or edit counts. Thanks again for all your work. Liz Read! Talk! 03:09, 21 March 2021 (UTC)
- Well Liz, your message does surprise me since I do get my CSD G13 directly from a query of the WK database based on the last edit time stamp perhaps a minute or two before tagging them for CSD, honestly a perfect task for a bot anyway. I hardly doubt that of my 30-40 CSD G13 yesterday one of them was edited in between those 2 or 3 minutes. Even if this would be the case the draft was de facto stale for 6 months like it has been in your first example. Your second example surprises me a lot. I will stop tagging CSD G13 immediately if someone is accusing me of doing so just to raise an EC - speaking of not being accurate because of a few errors in several ten thousand edits seems somewhat exaggerated. I dropped the "partof" line of the infobox from Protests against the imprisonment of Pablo Hasél. As I indicated in my edit summary, I removed that line since there is not any clear reference that states those protests against Pablo Hasél imprisonment are related to the Catalan independency movements, but rather to a debate on free speech all over Spain. For this reason, I think your edit should be restored, or at least explain / defend why such information should be added. If needed, I can mention this in the talk page of the aforementioned article.

Hi, CommanderWaterford. I was wondering what your rationale was for approving the draft Bugs Bunny's Birthday Ball. While the prose and formatting are good, there's only one source, and that's TV Tropes, which is essentially just a wiki. Per step 2 in WP:AFCR: "If what is written in the submission meets the notability guidelines (WP:BEFORE turned up basically nothing for me, but we'll pretend that's the case), but the submission lacks references to evidence this, then the underlying issue is inadequate verification and the submission should be declined for that reason."
As best I can tell, this just shouldn't have been approved and should be promptly moved back into the draftspace, unless this glaring issue can quickly be remedied in the mainspace. TheTechnician27 (Talk page) 22:51, 28 February 2021 (UTC)

- Indian National Congress is a political party, not a legislative body. As best I can tell, Chamakkala has not been elected to hold an office in a national or state legislative body. The writer G.Harthoorn has published here books by the name 'Géryke Young' (Geryke is here nickname, Young is the name by marriage, the birth name was Geradine Wilhelmine Christine Harthoorn).
She is the wife of George Kennedy Young (leading employee of the british intelligence service, e.g. SIS, MI6), i found the following reference at Nigel West, Historical Dictionary of British Intelligence, discussing the last years of the political career of G.K.Young: '...Young also moved into the political arena, considerable influenced by his wife, Geryke, who came from the Dutch East Indies...'. I think this may explain also the last years of the life of G.K.Young, of course after the study of the books of G.Harthoorn/Young.
Additional question: How i can make an alias resp. reference link to find the entry G.Harthoorn also by searching for Geryke Young??? If anyone is searching by the writer's name...

Hi, thanks for your welcome messages on my talk page. I thought you might be interested to know that my editing on Wikipedia has come to a quick end unfortunately. I sought in good faith to create an article on UCL Press, and it was almost immediately deleted back to a redirect, with no attempt to discuss, in a high handed and even aggressive manner. I can see already Wikipedia editing is controlled by long established editors, to battle against this will simply be a exhausting drain on time and energy. Sad but that's how it looks. - Twinkle is a gadget on English Wikipedia. It can help with maintenance and patrolling. It can now be used on other wikis. You can get Twinkle on your wiki using the twinkle-starter GitHub repository.

- The content translation tool did not work for many articles for a little while. This was because of a bug. [51]
- Some things will not work for about a minute on 5 May. This will happen around 06:00 UTC. This will affect the content translation tool and notifications among other things. This is because of an upgrade to avoid crashes. [52]

I definitely forgot to mention that I did not only made several mistakes by wrongly tagging translated articles but indeed also copy-violated some articles. This is in the end actually inexcusable - the community can with good reason expect that especially experienced editors who by themselves tagged dozens of articles for copy-violating take better care of this.
You are totally right concerning my first block - at this time I was in Spain in one of the hardest covid lockdowns in the world, lost all of my income and my frustration about my life did leave by far too many footprints in my editorial behaviour many times (not only with TonyBalloni). I seeked my meaning of life in editing - I did several thousands edits a week, was one of the most active editors for several months if I am not totally wrong and so got very easy upset. I accepted critics more than once - many, many times off-wiki from several Admins who helped me or noticed me about issues but after a time you just think "Hey, I make several hundreds edits a day and so I am sure I do know it better, I do not need to accept critics" -- which of course is totally nonsense.
Finally I do not want to see it as a block-unblock cycle - if I would see it like this I would have asked for an unblock by far earlier and honestly I was thinking for weeks before finally raising the ticket. I am not begging for forgiveness - what I said and did was definitely more than once wrong but I am also sure that I still could improve OUR project - in which I still believe! - as a simple editor (as I said, I am totally free for restrictions - no matter what they might be). - Well, in order to prevent any further communication with the user explaining their concerns about possible harassment towards them it would be perhaps an idea to establish an explicit ban for my user towards them after unblocking. As some may have noticed although being totally banned (and also being harassed at this time, on and off wiki) I already continued participating regularly at the Spanish version and Wikidata the last couple of months w/o the slightest issue. I am not allowed to use WK Email and there will be no private conversation at all, Tim, don't worry. My comments here are strictly related to the appeal. I do see primarily people who were heavily involved in my community ban participating in my unblock appeal discussion at WP:AN arguing among others of block-unblock cycles so of course I do not plan to raise another appeal in 6 months, the responding argument would be the same in the future.
