Speedy deletion nomination of Rec.arts.drwho
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Rec.arts.drwho requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, society, or group that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Onel5969 TT me 10:12, 7 September 2022 (UTC)

editPlease realize that for captions that are not full sentences, we do not include a final period. Only if the caption is a full sentence do we do that. See MOS:CAPFRAG. Disambiguation link notification for September 13
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Doctor Who (season 15), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Graham Williams. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

The Fellowship of the Ring (volume) vs "the Fellowship of the Ring" (character group)
editHi, thanks for your efforts to improve Wikipedia. Please note, however, that the character group called the Fellowship (of the Ring) is not the same as the first volume of The Lord of the Rings. The definite article "the" for the character group is properly in lower case; and the term is properly in Roman not Italics: in both cases differing from the title of the first volume of Tolkien's book. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 09:23, 15 September 2022 (UTC)
- Hello. Thanks for informing me, I was going through every page that linked to "Fellowship of the Ring" and appending them with a "The". Many of them refer to the book or film without a "The". Apologies about the error. ButterCashier (talk) 09:25, 15 September 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, I know; it's a very minor fix. Actually I'd dispute whether it is even wrong to write the volume's title without the definite article; it's a common redirect, and a common practice in British English. I certainly wouldn't want to spend a lot of time on the matter, however. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 09:26, 15 September 2022 (UTC)

editThank you for all of the thanks you are giving me on the vandalism I revert, but could you please tone it down a little? I don't really have a problem with it, it's just flooding my notifications and I don't really need to be thanked for every anti-vandalism edit I make. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:53, 15 September 2022 (UTC)
- Sorry! Thanks for informing me. ButterCashier (talk) 19:54, 15 September 2022 (UTC)
- No problem! Also, just a little tip, when reverting vandalism, if the same user has made multiple other consecutive edits to the article, check to see if all of them area vandalism. I've noticed a few times that you only revert one of a user's consecutive edits to an article when all of them should've been reverted. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:55, 15 September 2022 (UTC)

Unexplained Revert
editHi @ButterCashier, I noticed you reverted my edit using RW on the page Bernardo Añor Jr. in which I was trying to fix the hatnote to correctly redirect to the main article instead of redirecting to another redirect. I would like to know why you undid my edit, or if you assumed my edit as vandalism. Thanks! Raydann (talk) 11:56, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
- Hello @Raydann, I am terribly sorry, I've restored the page to your version. I've been reverting so many pages recently, yours must have been one I quickly assumed to be an error so I reverted it. Apologies. ButterCashier (talk) 11:59, 22 September 2022 (UTC)

Supernova
editHey; I wanted to do that one! Instead, I was stuck on a conversation about the pronunciation of user talk:Adakiko#Paprika Adakiko (talk) 14:03, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
- Don't worry, I'm spending a lot of time fixing wikilinks in other places, putting in/removing colons, dashes, that kind of thing, it's a never-ending quest. The revert on the Supernova page was not absolute, I thought, since a supernova is a powerful explosion, it could be considered a very powerful explosion, neutrally. It was the sentence "I love stars!" that seemed more out of place, anyway I've re-worded it now. ButterCashier (talk) 14:09, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
Apply for rollback?
editHey! I noticed that you've been using RedWarn a lot with your anti-vandalism efforts and I"m curious, have you considered applying for WP:ROLLBACK permissions? It would help you out a lot with anti-vandalism. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 15:30, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
- Hello. I've been using RedWarn since you suggested I revert all changes by some users, rather than just one revert which may leave some previous vandalism. I thought that meant using Rollback but since I had not access for it, I installed RedWarn, which works. Is there something advantageous to Rollback that RedWarn doesn't have? I might apply but I thought I should get a little more experience first. Thanks for the suggestion and happy editing! ButterCashier (talk) 18:44, 22 September 2022 (UTC)

Piping redirects
editHello. In general, WP:NOTBROKEN says we aren't supposed to pipe working redirects. I was wondering if you had a particular reason for this edit to James Caton, where you piped [[Year 10]] to [[Year Ten|Year 10]]? or you just weren't aware of the guidance. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 12:28, 23 September 2022 (UTC)
- Hello. I was not aware of that guidance and have been correcting all instances of such mistakes from Years 1 - 13 that I could find. I was unaware it was apparently bad to do, thus I ought to cease. Thank you for informing me. ButterCashier (talk) 12:32, 23 September 2022 (UTC)

editYou can read the text itself which is clearly spreading hate for a social activist just because she speaks for her religion without being ashamed of it. the Efforts by her for the social causes are cleverly hidden. I just added the social works she is doing and removed the unnecessary statements. Wish your reply Kenddjss (talk) 09:35, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
- Hi. I thought your edits on the page Sadhvi Rithambara:
- had not enough citations for some claims (e.g. "She has opened many centers for women empowerment and her first center was in Jwala Nagar, Delhi, 2003. In her ashram, for the safety of women, arrangements have been made for the training of horse riding, gun handling, aerial firing, karate etc. She also runs orphanages and ashrams for widows.")
- was not neutral at points (e.g. "She does not want to see any child orphan in the world, due to which she adopts orphan children and tries to give them love." - a personal view with no citation comes across as a factual statement but perhaps I am wrong)
- removed a lot of text without explanation
- had typographical errors (but this matters less)
- Hence, I reverted your edit. Maybe I am mistaken, I do not know much about the subject. ButterCashier (talk) 09:45, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
ok thank you bro have a nice day Kenddjss (talk) 09:42, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
oh no Ok If I type She says that"..." would it become neutral? can't you see the previous version which clearly holds her responsible for 2000 deaths without any proof? Can a person be free after killing 2000 people? How can you think that the previous one was neutral. I hope I am talking to a human not a robot. I typed the thank you one when I thought you kept my changes. Kenddjss (talk) 09:52, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
bro the Country has a responsible court and a person responsible for 2000 deaths can't roam free in India. The information in that version is saying that she was involved in the act that led to death of 2000 people but truth to be told, The 2000 deaths occured in 2002 year and the demolition was done in 1991. how can she be responsible for riots 9 years later. wish your reply Kenddjss (talk) 09:55, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
- I am not too knowledgeable about the subject, I saw that you deleted information without sufficient explanation and added sections that did not seem neutral. If you want to add some information, go ahead but make sure what you write can be checked with a reliable source. Thanks. ButterCashier (talk) 10:00, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
- This type of conversation should be held on talk:Sadhvi Rithambara. Cheers Adakiko (talk) 10:03, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
Billy Walker
editYou have just informed me that my comment was removed. Surely having errors corrected on Wiki is the way forward. Why anyone can put misleading information on there is beyond me. In future I am not going to bother correcting the errors. C J "Villa nut" Abbott (talk) 17:39, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
- Hi. Thanks for editing Wikipedia. The edit you did on the Billy Walker (footballer, born 1897) was written, I thought, not neutrally by use of the declarative "fact!" at the end. Had the edit simply been "in a Nottingham hospital" that seems more neutral. There's no citation for the information (though to me it seems likely) - had that been all you wrote, I do not think I'd have reverted it. Apologies if my hasty reversion caused concern, I undoubtedly can improve my ability to help many edits, rather than reverting completely as I often do. Rollback granted
editHi ButterCashier. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or RedWarn.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. - Hi and thanks for editing! I saw your edit on the Brian Blessed page, appending the word "Enland" and thought it vandalism, hence the warning. It appears you made a typo and hastily added the edit without previewing it first. Perhaps I should remove the warning then. ButterCashier (talk) 11:41, 31 October 2022 (UTC)

Double spaces
editHello. I can see you've been around a while and expect you knew this, but removing double spaces from wikitext doesn't normally affect the displayed page. Double spacing between sentences is standard in some variants of English, so articles such as Ood are debatably better with the double spaces left in. I do appreciate the efforts you're making, but similar activities such as typo fixing might make a more visible and uncontroversial improvement. Thanks, Certes (talk) 15:40, 2 November 2022 (UTC)

- Hi. Basically, following the edit of "very large boots", I wanted to alter it in some way, thinking it perhaps not entirely neutral, hence removed the adjective "very". Then, you appended the description with the adjective "abnormally". I wanted to have the most recent edit still, and thought to alter your edit to my "moderately", which still seemed fitting to me. However, it was not an entirely logical idea and you are free to revert the edit, perhaps I ought to. Thank you for your inquiry. ButterCashier (talk) 16:33, 4 November 2022 (UTC)

editRE revision to Caithness article and removing the fact that we spoke Norn. I live in Caithness, and have studied it's history since I was a child, Wikipedia's continued insistence that we spoke Gaelic en masse is entirely erroneous and thus I want the truth published. Your own article on Norn states that there is no written evidence left of the language, but you still have the article without reliable citation. I have spoken to countless Caithness historians of this fact, we still spoke Norn. Truthfully no longer care if you Revert it, but please stop going around acting like Wikipedia is an authoritive source on anything. Anyone can edit it, and clearly you prefer to perpetuate the tartan and shortbread myth of the SNP that we're all kilt wearing, haggis chasing cheucters. How's your Gaelic Igch Meich, Mcharriadh Heu. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:C7F:C11:8200:10BA:F54B:2CA:838C (talk) 18:27, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
- Hi. Thanks for editing. I reverted your edit on the Caithness page since you claimed Norn was the language, without any citation. Wikipedia benefits as a tool for assessing what is true so long as statements may be backed up by citations. Without citations, any statement could be made without any way to discern what is true and what is not. However, I have since researched Caithness and found your claim to be true, from what I could discern, so I added a statement back to the Caithness page, affirming the language as you suggested. I hope this helps. ButterCashier (talk) 18:53, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
Bias on Cabrilho...and new paper documented findings
editHi Butter Cashier:
I noticed you just reversed my comments about a new paper that just came out about Cabrilho. Maybe you can do it better than I, i.e., summarize the documented new historical findings presented in that paper.
I also corrected other well know documented facts about Cabrilho, published in 2016 by Wendy Kramer, likevhis birth year. The current version of Wikipedia is outdated, quoting and older source from the great work of Harry Kelsey...but older than Kramer's new findings. Likewise there are not anymore "several locations" in Portugal claiming to be Cabrilho's birth place - that is also outdated, as shown by JS Tavares work.
I do not understand what you mean by different opinions, when a document that explicilty says "natural from", ends up understood as "born at". That is not what the primary historical sources/documents found by Kramer say at all. As mentioned in the paper I was trying to quote, Amerigo Vespucci royal naturalization letter says " you shall be considered natural of these kingdoms of mine, as if born here".
I think omitting such examples and others given in the new paper just keeps misinforming people. Francisco Pizarro himself used to say " I am natural and born in Trujillo", or the paradigmatic case of beatification of Santa Teresa de Avila, when Rome demanded a prove, in the XVI century, that she was indeed born in Avila, and was not just natural from Avila, etc, etc.
I kindly suggest you read the new preprint to see the new sources. I find it hard to believe that nuclear physics carbon-14 chronological data is biased...and you removed it...while at the same time keeping outdated and plain wrong information in the current version of the Wiki. History is made of primary sources, documented sources, not opinions. All I wrote summarizing that paper is detailed and duly justified/documented in that paper, that many consider the most important findings so far supporting Portuguese Cabrilho (and Alvar Nunes, a Portuguese pilot unknown so far) after Herrera's XVI century own work.
Anyway perhaps you are an historian, that can better judge the new Jan. 2023 paper, and decide what is biased or not, and distinguish plain wrong neutral info. from supposed bias.
Thanks for reading. 104.220.108.138 (talk) 15:57, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
- Hi. Thanks for editing! Sorry about reverting your entire edit on this page - the first edit I saw of yours was the most recent, in which I noticed the phrase "natural, is what the document says exactly...not born!", which I did not consider neutral since it appears to express a sense of surprise from the exclamation mark. Additionally, the phrase "(in a non solidly documented biased way)" seemed both grammatically incorrect as well as biased - I took a reference to the historians' views being biased as, itself, biased. Nevertheless, you wrote much information from one particular paper. I have reinserted lots of the information you added, rewriting it to appear a little less in the form of a paper, forming an argument, and more in the style of Wikipedia, giving out information. I cited the paper you referred to. It is likely that my reversion will only partially satisfy but I was attempting to remove biased phrasing and irrelevant information as much as I could while keeping the information you wrote. Perhaps more information ought to be appended as a result of your findings. Still, I have restored your version of the page, and note that my complete version of your edits was perhaps a mistake. Thanks for reading. ButterCashier (talk) 16:29, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
New paper on Cabrilho, Jan. 2023
editHi Butter Cashier:
Thanks for your reply, and my apologies for my written English mistakes. Out of the 6 or 7 languages I speak, Russian or German surely have way more mistakes than my English. I still have to thank you though for correcting my Wiki editing grammar- appreciated.
I am not very familiar with the Wiki tools either - and thus this was the only way I found to answer you. Sorry if not being the most direct or effective one.
Thanks for editing back a significant part of what I was trying to communicate. This new paper has lots of juicy stuff indeed, and I hope the other parts are published soon, as the author says. Indeed, the new data in that paper are quite rich, and as others will read it, I trust further updating editing will come to the Wikipedia, as you stated.
From what I saw you removed Kelsey's book reference now, and this is one of the most extensive works on Cabrilho. Despite some outdated data and obvious hispanophile bias regarding Cabrilho's nationality, I think it is still a great work that deserves to be referred to in the Wikipedia.
Also I think it is important to keep the reference to Bartolome Ferrer closer to my original editing, since he is another example of a natural from Spain (some say, but no document exists showing explicitly so...) but not Spanish-born. Furthermore, after Cabrilho's death it was Ferrer who explored the USA coast up to nowadays Oregon. The finding of his 1547 testament alone is just remarkable.
Also I would humbly suggest some changes in Alvar Nunes' part, that you surely can do better than I, if you please. It was his ship (Santa Maria de Buena Esperança) that was likely rebaptized as Santa Maria de La Victoria, and I am not sure if that is totally clear in the text.
I do not want to take more of your time.
I do make yearly financial contributions to the Wikipedia, and do care a lot about accurate/correct information. It is not easy for you, surely, to distinguish biases all the time...plus one's own interpretation of what is biased and not ...may not always follow the laws of physics...
So I thank you for all the efforts you do in trying to keep things correct and balanced, while at the same time navigating the difficult sea of biases.
Look forward to see other people editions to Cabrilho's Wiki...things look exciting now.
All the very best. 104.220.108.138 (talk) 17:05, 27 January 2023 (UTC)

- Sorry, I've reverted your edit. Thanks for editing! ButterCashier (talk) 11:06, 1 February 2023 (UTC)
A cup of light coffee for you!
editI like seeing you show up in notifications and in Recent Changes when I'm 0.2129453s late to reverting an edit. Enjoy this manually brewed coffee--that turned out lighter than usual--while you revert some more! ^-^ — DVRTed (Talk) 16:27, 13 February 2023 (UTC) |
- Thanks! I prefer tea actually but this is fine too. Happy editing! ButterCashier (talk) 10:34, 14 February 2023 (UTC)

However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Removing redirect
editWhy have you removed the redirect? The page is virtually useless as there is nothing on there. Mwiqdoh (talk) 09:02, 15 February 2023 (UTC)
- Hi. It was a mistake, I think. Sorry and thanks for editing. ButterCashier (talk) 09:11, 15 February 2023 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:Professor Layton and the New World of Steam logo.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused duplicate or lower-quality copy of another file on Wikipedia having the same file format, and all inward links have been updated.
--Minorax«¦talk¦» 14:21, 18 February 2023 (UTC)

Regarding the Super Mario Bros. Movie final trailer...
editYoooo what's up? Well, I'm not here to warn you like many mean Wikipedia mods do. I just wanna tell you that you shouldn't add info about the Super Mario Bros. Movie's final trailer. Just wait for the trailer to be released and then you can add the info, ok? Remember: this isn't a warn, just an useful piece of advice that I learned from a really experienced Wikipedian. Nice day mah bro (or sis)!!! SupraMerioBros. (talk) 12:45, 23 February 2023 (UTC)
- Hi. Very well, perhaps it shouldn't be on there until after its broadcast. Thanks for editing! ButterCashier (talk) 12:56, 23 February 2023 (UTC)

Fearne Cotton/Ian Watkins edit
editWhy did you remove my edit to the Fearne Cotton Wiki page? It was entirely accurate Wearethemissile (talk) 09:34, 9 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hi and thanks for editing! The account you're using to write to me only has a single edit registered, being the one I'm replying to. The Fearne Cotton page has an edit I reverted earlier, which was because it didn't have a citation. ButterCashier (talk) 09:36, 9 March 2023 (UTC)
- thank you, I will add one! Wearethemissile (talk) 09:40, 9 March 2023 (UTC)
Help with recent changes
editWould you have a look at recent edits here. It's got beyond me :). I would go back to https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Brookswood_Secondary_School&oldid=1144356138
Would you agree? Lukewarmbeer (talk) 09:48, 13 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, I restored that page. Some of the edits afterwards seemed good but some were not neutral or vandalism. I stopped using this website for a few minutes right before you wrote to me hence my delay. Thanks for editing! ButterCashier (talk) 10:12, 13 March 2023 (UTC)

John Wick Chapter 4
editI ask you not to already add the plot to the movie's page here in Wikipedia. I understand you got excited with this movie but it hasn't released yet in many countries, like Portugal, where I live. Could you please remove the plot and only add it again after March 24? 2001:8A0:FF8A:B300:C43A:3CE6:D655:C5A6 (talk) 09:50, 16 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hi and thanks for editing! I saw someone had removed the plot section on the John Wick: Chapter 4 page, without giving a reason, hence I reverted that edit. Since the film has been released, I don't see a good reason to not keep the plot section - that it hasn't been released in some countries doesn't seem like a good reason to not put it on. The film will never be released in certain countries; some people might not watch it for years, despite wanting to; people who have already seen it may desire a summary - hence, I think it should remain. Wikipedia isn't censored for spoilers, if you don't want to know the plot I suggest not reading the plot section. ButterCashier (talk) 09:55, 16 March 2023 (UTC)
- Dont you know any link where I can watch the full movie freely without any payments? That I can watch from my home in Portugal? 193.137.34.251 (talk) 09:59, 16 March 2023 (UTC)
- My talk page is for discussing edits I've done on pages, primarily. This isn't the right place to ask for such things. Sorry. ButterCashier (talk) 10:00, 16 March 2023 (UTC)

Nazi symbolism
editWould you be kind enough to cast an eye over Context and adoption of the Swastika and give me a view on adding it to the article?
Many thanks Lukewarmbeer (talk) 17:34, 17 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hi. Sorry for not looking until now, but I have analysed your writing, rewritten some parts and included some suggestions in italics. Thanks for writing that anyway. ButterCashier (talk) 08:48, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for looking it over. Looked at your first message first and posted it as was. Will have a read of your suggestions and re edit. Lukewarmbeer (talk) 19:10, 21 March 2023 (UTC)
