License tagging for Image:Community Center.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Community Center.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Coming soon pages
editI'm sorry, but Coming Soon pages like you just created are not allowed on the project. Far too many of them never get completed. One of the standard official criteria for Speedy Deletion is articles with no effective content, which is what you created. External links are not sufficient, as that is a very common tactic by spammers, to add an article with just a link, or not much more. Pages like that serve no proper purpose on the project, and are expressly subject to deletion under the project rules of speedy deletion.
None of this is saying that you cannot or should not write out a proper article on this district. But sub-stubs and coming soon pages just do not cut it.
As for me having no business deleting the sub-stub, my business is the fact that I am administrator of this project, with the responsibility of enforcing the rules of the project. That is why it is my business when pages are created that do not meet the minimum requirements for articles on the project.
Again, please do not let this prevent you from creating a proper page on the district, but also please do not recreate an almost empty placeholder article. Create the real article when you are ready to create it. - TexasAndroid 22:17, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
December 2010
editWelcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to William Henry Harrison High School (Ohio) appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe this important core policy. Thank you. Bhockey10 (talk) 16:18, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
I kept the info you added earlier about ranking in the body of the article, but the ranking in the infobox is for the USNWR Ranking for which it wasn't. While much of your edits were constructive others were a huge mess. I kept the basic info noting the addition of the Rock and Roll lab, but removed and/or reworded much of the un-sourced info that also had numerous issues with POV, such as: capitalizing that ranking as "EXCELLENT", adding the word "long" and finishing the sentence with an exclamation point for the Color Guard, and then almost all of the sentence structure about Rock Band contain lots of WP:POV and even a WP:Crystal issue when it says "Robinson hopes to make..." There's also no sources provided with the info to establish notability or if the info about the Rock Band stuff is even fact. Also I'm not claiming to be an expert on anything, but I graduated from High school too, and there's something call plagerism- WP:Copyvio that is another issue of the info you stated is "is quoted DIRECTLY from the schools site." Bhockey10 (talk) 23:01, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
- I communicated to your comment as soon as I got it, you didn't check my talk page so when I saw you again posted the content in question I posted the response on your talk page. No need to get hostile, I've essentially kept all the info you've added to the article, just trimmed down without questionable content. Also please be aware that if you continue reverting back to the version you insist- adding POV, copyrighted info, and/or unsourced info may be considered to be Vandalism by myself but also other users. Bhockey10 (talk) 23:18, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users who edit disruptively or refuse to collaborate with others may be blocked if they continue. In particular the three-revert rule states that making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block. If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the talk page to discuss controversial changes. Work towards wording and content that gains consensus among editors. If unsuccessful, then do not edit war even if you believe you are right. Post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. --Addihockey10e-mail 23:23, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
As I have said, I posted no un-sourced, copyrighted, or plagiarized info in my edits of William Henry Harrison High School (Ohio)! Bhockey10 who keeps editing this does not know what they are doing, in my opinion. As a matter of fact, every bit of what I added had either a link or reference provided. Beyond that, some of what I added that was removed was either links or references! I am not going to post things without proper attribution! Most all of what Bhockey10 has done is his own POV.--BuckeyeDave (talk) 23:58, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
Further Bhockey10 has made no effort to communicate with me and "collaborate" prior to his edits. I am not unreasonable, but I do except the to be engaged in discussion prior to whole sale changes to my additions/edits.--BuckeyeDave (talk) 00:04, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
Your recent edits
editHello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you must sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 23:38, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

below this notice, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.

Request reason:
OK, so why am I the one being block? I did not start this! Bhockey10 never made any effort to work with me on edits. That's what collaboration is. It is not he making whatever changes he sees fit and me simply going along with them. What makes his edits more preferential than mine? I have explained myself and my edits. I would like to see further justification for my being blocked, but Bhockey10 being given preferential treatment. BuckeyeDave (talk) 01:53, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
Decline reason:
I see no evidence of preferential treatment; the other editor in your dispute seems to be blocked. This does not matter, however, please focus on your own actions in any future unblock requests. Thanks. Kuru (talk) 02:03, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You're missing the point about why you were blocked. You were, as the message says, edit warring. As you correctly realized, you were having a difference of opinion with the other editor and were not going to resolve it. The solution, however, would be to request page protection, which would force both of you to discuss it. Tendentious behavior, as exhibited in this edit summary and this edit, would get any user blocked as it shows a determination to settle this by continued edit warring. — Daniel Case (talk) 04:38, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

- Meanwhile, you indeed were cutting and pasting material from http://www.southwestschools.org/harrisonhigh/hsdepartments/HSRockBand/Index.htm. That's a copyright violation right there. --jpgordon::==( o ) 08:23, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
Jpgordon, if proper referencing is done via direct link or a reference footnote there is no copyright infringement or plagiarism. As I was very careful to associate either a direct link or a reference footnote with each and every edit/addition I made there was no such violation. Just to be sure, I pulled out my copy of an old English manual I still have and went over footnoting and attribution and found nothing that I had done to be incorrect. It would appear from their statements above that the administrators found nothing wrong with my edits, rather they didn't like my "edit warring" with Bhockey10.— Preceding unsigned comment added by BuckeyeDave (talk • contribs) 15:36, 15 December 2010
- I'm afraid that your understanding of copyright infringement is incorrect. It does not suffice to cite your sources when you are cutting and pasting copyrighted material. "Plagiarism" is not the issue; copyright violation is. --jpgordon::==( o ) 19:06, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
Jpgordon, having checked the site again, I can find no evidence that the material I used is copyrighted. That said, I was in the process of reviewing my work and making changes, including adding quotes and eliminating some of it. I was not given the chance to do so by Bhockey10 who took it on himself to decide he didn't like the way I was doing things. At any rate, I don't violate copyright or submit unreferenced work.
KrakatoaKatie,I was going to ask you to give me the same consideration that Jpgordon gave Bhockey10 for removal of the block, but I see it has ended. As you noted on Bhockey10's talk page, I was proofing and revising my work, as I was taught in both high school and college. Being as I was not given the opportunity and was redone at every turn, I would ask you to speak with Bhockey10 and ask him not to interfere. I would also ask you to keep an eye on it and, if you have any suggestions to let me know. My changes may not be to Bhockey10's personal liking, but they will be legitimate, and without "bias, POV," copyright infringement, or lack of reference. Thank you for your assistance on this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.83.88.86 (talk) 15:23, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
- You really need to read WP:Copy-paste. In a nutshell, don't do it. --jpgordon::==( o ) 16:07, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
