Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Purdue Bell Tower, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Please do not disrupt Wikipedia to illustrate a point.   Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Almonte, Ontario, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you.--78.128.177.172 (talk) 05:36, 22 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

I think you have the wrong user. This is the only edit I've made to the article. I fail to see how my edit could be considered unconstructive. Brian the Editor (talk) 05:44, 22 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Because you've restored article to the version in which maintenance templates were removed. May be I was mistaken when I didn't reconnoitred nature of previous edit more thoroughly, but my edit You undid was essentially an attempt to restore version of said article with maintenance templates first. --78.128.177.172 (talk) 05:50, 22 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
I understand. I just saw that you added things like "-1ddddddddddddddddthe" and "poo Falls". I didn't notice the maintenance templates. I guess we should both be more careful next time. Brian the Editor (talk) 06:00, 22 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
OK. I'm really sorry for this minsunderstanding.--78.128.177.172 (talk) 06:06, 22 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Edit war

edit

Hello there. Just noticed that you seem to be engaged in a bit of an edit war on Roger Vinson. I personally think you're in the right on this one -- that information probably belongs on Rush Limbaugh's page if any. I've warned the other editor and hope that s/he stops the reverting. If not I will block for a brief amount of time. I'd suggest you not continue reverting, though, just to avoid 3RR problems. Thanks! GorillaWarfare talk 05:05, 18 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

FYI -- I did a little digging, following up on your noticeboard post. 188.23.0.0/16 is a banned user -- see Thomaskh (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) and ThomasK (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log). I can find a lot of his edits in the range mentioned above; while he's made sockpuppets he also edits from that IP range. He's identifiable by interests, and by stylistic features (including his curious use of the ` in place of an apostrophe, both in edit summaries and in rants). Mention this at ANI if it comes up again. Cheers, Antandrus (talk) 16:05, 18 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the message. I found that copyvio using Google. Whenever I see something suspicious, I like to run a few random fragments through a Google search with quote marks around it so that it searches for it as a phrase. Sometimes you have to try a few different fragments of various lengths before it will find anything. Brian the Editor (talk) 23:26, 23 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi there, i was wonderin why do you keep reverting the changes i make from the cleverbot page, i know its not a bot or any kind of AI, its a big fraud and i thought people should know about it, because what the oficial page claims is a lie. But you just keep reverting what i edit, if im doing it wrong tell me how should i write the information to prevent int from being reverted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.131.32.33 (talk) 21:20, 23 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

You will have to cite a reliable source that says that the official page is a lie. Articles must be verifiable through reliable sources. One editor's personal opinion is not enough. Brian the Editor (talk) 21:38, 23 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Purdue University Reactor Number One

edit

Hi. I edited this article (after consulting the source) to avoid suggesting that a toaster or hair drier produces power. (The reactor produces energy, while the toaster emits thermal energy.) Also, at Prep 2, I edited the hook for Template:Did you know nominations/Purdue University Reactor Number One. Please check and see if you have concerns about the wordings. --Orlady (talk) 14:14, 8 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made to Arthur Conan Doyle: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. Silvrous Talk 18:32, 22 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
